So, I've finally got the game, and I'm enjoying it so far (Christ, is it hard, though). I'm about to make dealing with one of the Divine Beasts my next major objective, and I need to decide which one. I seem to recall reading a while back that I should visit either the Rito or the Zora first. What would be the pros and cons of both?
Oh God! Natural light!- Pros for Rito: Revali's Gale makes traversing mountains very trivial, Vah Medoh is probably the easiest Divine Beast to reach and beat
- Cons: The enemies have way stronger weapons in the western areas of Hyrule than in the eastern ones from the start (I got oneshot by a Stalbokoblin's bow on my second playthrough there), so you have to be much more careful
- Pros for Zora: Mipha's Grace is also very useful, but mostly for tough battles as a safety net. The Zora arc is also probably the one with the better story
- Cons: Getting there is also pretty rough because of some of the enemies on the way, maybe even more so than getting to the Rito place, but that depends on how good you are at fighting
I see...
For both of them, would it be better to travel there on horseback or on foot?

Oh God! Natural light!I don't think it's possible to do the Zora one on horseback, but you definitely can for the Rito one. And should, since it's quite remote.
Is Pikango a Sheikah or Hylian? There seems to be an Edit War going on in the Character Page.
If you talk to him in the rain (maybe only before he leaves Kakariko), he mentions that his rain hat thing is Shiekah in origin. That, plus the fact that he has white hair and starts in a Shiekah town, leads me to believe that he is Shiekah.
He says the villagers of Kakariko don't trust him because he's an outsider so I think he may be Hylian.
In the german version, when you stumble upon him at one of the stables when you haven't done his Great Fairy Pond sidequear he says he hails from Kakariko, but since he's been away travelling for so long they don't really trust him anymore.
Yeah I remember that, too. He complained that the Kakariko people are so suspicious of outsiders that they don't even trust him anymore after he went travelling for a few years. I'm pretty sure he told me that in Kakariko, too.

It's like watching a tennis match, I see evidence against it, and then for it.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television.I thought I had seen just about everything in the non-DLCed game, until I went wandering around the Hebra region for shrines on a "different path" account I set up for gits and shiggles.
Bear fucking cavalry.
Two bokoblins riding around, like the horse ones in the plains areas, but they were astride bears.
Fortunately, unlike horses bears don't stick around once the rider is off of them (by choice or otherwise), so once I lobbed a bomb arrow at each of them it was easy-peasy (standard silvers), but still that first sight had me thinking back to those bear cavalry memes.
Also, on this wander through the lower levels of the castle I managed to get into the prison, and beat the stalhinox to get the Hylian Shield. One step closer to classic Link outfitting.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpI've never had enemies successfully remount after I unhorse them. Part of this, though, is because I usually wait for the horse to be in motion when I freeze the rider with Stasis. By the time the rider unfreezes (which, if you haven't done it yet, is absolutely hilarious), the horse has long since bolted.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I am just a bad shot and usually end up killing the horses.
Few things in this game are as badass as watching a mounted bokoblin charge at you and headshotting the bokoblin at the last moment, sending it flying off the horse as the horse harmlessly runs past you. It's like a less epic version of the Dark Beast Ganon fight from TP.
Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!Man, you get dumber Bokoblins than I do. When I fight them, they circle strafe me.
Reminder: Offscreen Villainy does not count towards Complete Monster.I doubt that this is intentional, but I found a mountain where a treasure chest keeps spawning from the sky. Once it's far enough away it despawns, and then the game immediately spawns another magical treasure chest from the sky again.
I lost 5 hearts because of that stupid thing.
Oh, and it had a Royal Halberd in it. Worth it?
Is the Majora's Mask in this game the Majora's Mask thousands of years later after it's been cleansed of evil?
Never trust anyone who uses "degenerate" as an insult.Serious answer: it's just a fun cameo
Lore based answer: no one knooooowwwwssss....
Speaking of which, still haven't found the damn thing. I've found some of the DLC kit, but trying to look for stuff without the map filled (until just recently) and Guardians breaking my shields and weapons, it's a bit tough.
Also TIL that even the weakest of Guardian weapons, like the ones from the Scouts in Shrines, can break Guardian limbs in one hit.

So yesterday I finally dropped some cash to pick up the DLC. I think the tracker alone justifies the $20 cost, with the rest of the stuff icing on the proverbial cake (even if the new armor sets only do what the stealth set does once it's upgraded to L2, faster night walking ). I missed a lot of territory in my wanderings.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpAnd on the subject of wandering, indirectly, can horses that have been injured but not killed (at which point the horse fairy comes into play) be healed?
I took a couple of fire arrows when engaging a pair of horse Bokoblins on the South Tabantha Snowfield before I broke contact (because I was having a shit day for mounted archery ) and ran for the Snowfield stable, where I boarded my horse to close down the game to do some RL stuff.
[edit] I did try looking for the answer to this question on Google, but the results were inconclusive.

All your safe space are belong to TrumpI am not sure about that, I would try feeding it a few apples.
Ugh. Went to do the Trial of the Sword thing for the heck of it, and I'm stuck at the talos level. I usually just lob bomb arrows at the weak point, but that's obviously not an option during the Trial.
I know you're supposed to be able to climb up on the Talos and whack on the weak point with a melee weapon, but a) I've never had any luck with that, and b) the weaksauce weapons you get from the low-level grunts in the previous levels don't do much damage before breaking.
All your safe space are belong to TrumpI saw someone beat that Talos by getting it stuck by a tree, and dropping bombs on the weak point.
If everyone were normal, the world would be a dull place. Like reality television. So a complaint I've heard brought up about the combat in the game is that, when you go up against the stronger black colored enemies, any sense of experimentation apparently goes out the window, as using your weapons is the only way to deal with the high level enemies effectively. Like, whacking them with Kinesis items or bomb arrows simply won't work.
Anyone agree? Cause personally, I don't see that at all. While that is an effective tactic, you could try using Stasis on them to get a few licks in before then, stun them with an electric attack to get them to drop their weapon, and so on.
So, I've started Master Mode and don't care what anyone says, I'm scanning my treasure chest granting and pet dog amiibo.
First of all, Heroes Path is very nice and helps me map out where I should go next, but it's also a little disheartening to see how much I scuttle in circles, but that might be due to gathering resources in my sight or fighting enemies.
Two, I tried doing stuff out of order in the Great Plateu, but that plan got canned because the Shrines were locked before I raised the Tower. Bleh.
Three, if I thought that basic enemies could kill me all too easy with just 3 Hearts before, that has escalated: getting two shot is not uncommon, I actually resorted to cooking some defense and attack buffs to handle larger Bokoblin camps (thanks for the shrooms Sheik!) and holy shit they really did put a Lynel here. Near the Bomb Trial Shrine for all those who are curious. And it's a Silver Mane with Bomb Arrows and a Savage Crusher too, so it doesn't fuck around!!! I tried fighting it a few times, because those weapons tempted me, but it was futile...
Four, found the Switch Shirt and it is the ultimate swag. I would never take it off if it weren't for the fact that I need that Warm Doublet on in the cold region.
I'm still just messing around the plateu, looking for everything, found two of the DLC chests which are handily identified for being blue, fancy and having an "EX" on them. And the most OP thing an amiiob has given me is an Ancient Battle Axe I used to shred the Stone Talus.
Oh, and has Wolf Link always had this attack which he zips around and lunges at foes multiple times, or is it something they added lately??? It somehwat resembles his attack from TP when charged and locked onto multiple foes.
