What I see is a Scottish Proud Warrior Race Guy. Wouldn't braveness be best depicted if the character is facing a tough opposition? Or am I reading too much into the trope name?

^ That would probably be ideal yes, though I think a particularly brawny-looking warrior like the Scotsman from Samurai Jack would also cover it sufficiently.

^ Not sure how much the focus is on the Brave Scot per se with those... the last two are more Back-to-Back Badasses, 1 and 3 Interesting Situation Duel. 3 is pretty humorous though.
