Next Global Mission is live in Pokemon Sun and Moon, win as many daily lotos in Festival Plaza, goal is 1000

That'll be easy pickings for me, I have two of them in my plaza!

I really should get back to trying to complete the Pokedex but it just takes so damn long. I can only imagine what the lack of good grinding spots would be like for people who've played earlier entries.

Let the joy of love give you an answer! Check out my book!

[up]It was called time to meet the Elite Four again until Gen 5 brought Black Tower/White Treehollow/Audino and Gen 6 existed. It was also called stack up those Exp. Shares and Lucky Eggs especially in Gen 3.

For the Pokedex itself I only did the National Dex in Diamond and Alpha Sapphire and Diamond was only to prove I could do it but don't really find a point to it. I'm not really a completionist guy and prefer my mons to have a use.

Oh yeah considering there's a way to guarantee a win in the Festival Plaza Loto, this should be cake.

Meanwhile, trying out my new team for Battle Tree Singles: typical Toxapex/Celesteela/A-Marowak combo, but switched Marowak for Tank Chomp. I'm not used to stall, but it seems to be working well so far.

... And that's called jazz!

I think I'm going to do a psychic monorun on Sun. Thematically it seems the most fitting type to monorun, considering Nebby and how guzma is a major enemy.

Haha @ Kaukui: "Don't even think about taking on the kahunas! They're crazy strong, too much for people like you and me!"

LIES.

I always prefer diverse type teams, because it means that I can protect another member when it's corned by a Pokemon that has a type advantage over it.

Oof, got my first loss against the teacher in the trainer school. Magnemite ftl. Even worse is that it's going to make pichu harder to evolve.

slowpoke and pichu are my only members atm.

Ah beat her! Just barely too, slowpoke only had 1 hp and pichu was one attack away from getting ko'd. While normally this lady isn't too big a deal, her having both Magnemite and Meowth make her the most difficult opponent thus far.

I'm trying to build teams in that github someone made and everything I do is cripplingly weak to Rock.

I definitely want to use Arcanine, Alolan Raichu and Golisopod in this playthrough, and I have the Bagon and Alolan Vulpix I want to level up.

I might ditch Decidueye and/or Mimikyu, since I already have my competitive ones in my bank.

Got drowzee! I believe that's all the psychic lines available at melemele for now. Also the skull grunt with the drowzee at the berry farm? Its only move is pound lol.

But man Meowth is kind of scary now. Hard to outrun, fast and technician bite hurts. I'm appreciating slowpoke this playthrough, so far it's been rather good.

Just saying, we already hit the goal for the Global Mission, so if you haven't already, sign up for the mission now for free FC and the PGL reward should this hit the double success goal.

Man, the goal of 1,000 was way too easy.

Starting out they vastly overestimated what players would do

After two overwhelmingly failures they scaled it back immensely.

Aww man, got whooped by Totem Gumshoos. First totem is especially designed to screw over ghost and psychics. freakin pichu not evolving doesn't help.I hate happiness evolutions :/

Beat him second time. I totally missed the brick break TM first time and drowzee was able to two shot Gumshoos with it. Wish I had it first attempt. But now with pichu KO'd again...sigh once again, curse happiness evos.

Just run in circles for a bit. Seriously, never had any issue with happiness evolutions; most of the time Golbat evolves after just leveling once.

Then again, having wild Pichu is just downright counterproductive. Well, Pichu/Cleffa/Igglybuff/Azurill don't really have many reasons to exist in general (Pikachu/Clefairy/Jigglypuff/Marill sell merch anyway and to the same target, while Raichu/Clefable/Wigglytuff/Azumarill are also able to be sold to several targets). Oh well, decisions made 20 years ago, won't complain about them.

Pokemon don't just need to exist for battle nerds' taste, baby mons are there for mainly world building purposes and yeah marketing in some cases lol. Honestly baby-mons don't bug me and some pokemon could use them(drampa being an especially egregious example, Tauros and miltank as well). I just hate how happiness works in game.

The only ones that really feel unneeded to me were cleffa and igglybuff. I'd say Chingling too but really that's more an issue of chimecho being cheated out of an evo Should've gotten the Roselia treatment.

level 19 and pichu still hasn't evolved. I just got the soothe bell.

I like most preevolutions. Those 4, however, bug me a bit, as their evolved forms were clearly designed as unevolved Pokemon.

I usually just stuff a bunch of those EV-reducing berries down their throats until they love me. If I'm using one for my actual party and I want them to evolve, I just run around for a while while listening to music or watching something. No big deal.

Having Tauros so early in Sun/Moon is one of the bigger flaws with the game, considering how monstrously powerful Tauros is compared to other Pokemon in the area, such as Mudbray. Tauros and Miltank REALLY should have a shared prevolution if they're going to include them that early in the game.

Baby Pokemon do have a VERY valid reason for existing: in-game balance.

I mean, I never really found happiness evolutions all that hard to deal with; usually get them evolved before they hit level 20 anyways.

Gah lost against Ilima. 3rd blackout so far. Hala was a pushover expectedly, slowpoke solo'd him. But ilima's Gumshoos is really dangerous for a psychic run. I forgot I had the fighting z-crystal though, I;ll try it on his gumshoos.

Beat him this time, using the z-crystal. Smeargle went down without too much trouble but gumshoos was still a struggle.

Now on akala, and FINALLY pichu has evolved at level 20. I know i can pick up oricorio pau and eevee(for espeon) here. Sadly no Oranguru since I'm playing Sun.

They should finally get a pre-evolution for Tauros/Milktank. I do wonder what it's name would be and what it would look like. I the pre-evolution would of course evolve depending on it's gender. A boy turns into a Tauros, while a girl turns into a Milktank. Also it would evolve by happiness.

The fact that the alola dex has the two directly linked leads me to believe one was intended at some point in time. Maybe gen 8?

I almost lost to Gladion...level 12 eevee managed to snatch a win against a weakened/paralyzed level 18 type: null. Funnily enough it's already ready to evolve, but I'm going to stop playing now and wait until morning so I can have the glorious Espeon.

That should probably be a thing, especially because the Alola Pokedex has them on the same page.
