The Empire probably had an Operation Paperclip-esque program of recruiting former Confederate research teams for their own R&D.

Considering (in the old EU at least) they made use of battle droids in the initial post-war period I wouldn't be surprised.

There were probably a bunch of different prototypes along the way too. It's a couple decades from that cameo in Episode II to ANH, but only four years between that and Return- all that extra time seems to me like it would've been spent on a long trial period of design refining.

Michael Giacchino has replaced Alexandre Desplat as the composer due to scheduling conflicts caused by the reshoots.

Holy kriff they dug up the Gigorans. If you didn't know, ridiculously obscure Legends species that only appeared in the West End RPG.

Those things look like Talz with breath masks and long fur.

I love that Lucasfilm is making so many obscure things from the tabletop games from way back canon, or at least, featuring them prominently.

New Poster for Rogue One, new trailer coming tomorrow morning.

The poster looks good. Similar in layout to the Rogue One poster, although it's not as crowded since the cast isn't as big and it's brighter since it's using the tropical ascetic of the main planet in the movie instead of the typical star-field.

Ah, so it looks like we'll be seeing even more battles than we thought from the first trailer.

That looked pretty awesome. So Saw Guerrera is a cyborg now?

Well when you fight occupiers of your homeworld for two decades you're bound to lose a few things.

Did we know that the Jyn's dad was working for the Empire before this trailer dropped? Because that's news to me.

I feel like I'd heard it somewhere before. Something about him having designed the Death Star. Which may or may not be mentioned in the trailer, I'm trying to stop watching trailers for movies I know I'm going to see anyway.

FOA? Force Awakens, or something else?

I'm really excited for the relationship between Jyn Erso and her dad, Galen in this movie, plus everything else. :D

Also I'm 99% sure I saw General Dodonna from ANH in this trailer.

I wonder what planet Jyn and her father were on in the beginning. Looks desert (black sanded? Maybe volcanic?) but there's enough moisture to grow a pretty big amount of greenery.
