Why do the characters not realize the infinity distance in power level between God and someone like Superman? Namely it's possible to win a fight against Superman!

For 99,9999999999% of the world's population, no, it isn't.

'So, does Clark even try to tell Batman that Lex Luthor is threatening Martha Kent?'

He tries but Batman won't listen.

Yeah Batman spends so much time trying to kill him he can't really get in a word edgewise.

[up]More or less my opinion of the movie.

Does Clark even try to not look scary and tell Batman that he won't do anything to him and he needs help defeating Lex Luthor who is holding his mom hostage? I wonder if the reason angels always would say "don't be afraid" was because powerful entities are scary because they could kill you and you would not have a chance of defending yourself. Clark is not doing a good job of playing guardian angel. Then again, it's not like there's a superhero school he could have gone to learn how to be an effective superhero.

[up][up] I disagree, but I've been arguing about Mo S and about Bv S for the last three years of my goddamn life and i have no desire to keep going. I liked them, i like this direction. Fox, and Disney movies have a similar tone, SS looks like it'll be pretty different so I'm cool with one corner of comicdom being this. If anyone doesn't like it, I get why I also don't care as long as they're not being a dick.

After following this film for so long i need a break.

Also sorry if this came out as a rant.

[up][up] I do not think that was an actual suicide bombing, that was just Lex being an asshole and building his fancy wheelchair around a remote detonated bomb.

Both Luthor and the Batman make very good arguments as to the necessity of having some way to take down superman.. But then they promptly want to put those weapons to use. You fail deterrence theory, Game theory, and contingency planning forever. Seriously, having someone around who effectively cannot be retaliated against is not safe. Working out a plan for "What if said entity has a mental break"? is a moral and practical imperative. Attacking said entity without dire provocation is, however, just stupid. It's the difference between wanting a nuclear deterrent and launching a first strike against the USSR. One of those is sane. One is not.

The fights are amazing, and also work as characterization very, very well. Supes is a powerhouse who has nearly zero tactical acumen because he has been in very few actual fights, and most of his confrontations can be solved by flying at them at barely subsonic velocities. This is how he dies even - Just attacking the threat in the most direct way possible. The one actually clever thing he does is punch doomsday into space, which is probably just him going "That is totally what I should have done with Zod" after the events in Mo S.

Batman is tactical, and brutal as all hell. He fights to end the fight as rapidly as possible, and doesn't much care if the people he put on the floor ever get back up again. It works with the whole "Disillusioned, quite possibly insane, veteran of decades of fighting gothamite scum"

Wonder Woman is also a powerhouse, but it's clear she's fought threats on her own level many many times before. And won. Strong, but also very skilled, and she enjoys fighting. It helps to sell the whole "time abyss" thing she has going on, and she contrasts very well with both superman and the bat. She's disillusioned, like the Batman, but it didn't make her brutal, just disengaged from the daily affairs of men, which contrasts with superman.

[up] Yeah but at one point Bruce pretty much admitted that he plans to kill Superman not deter him.

Same goes for Lex i think.

So, Weak, but Skilled (Batman) vs. Unskilled, but Strong (Sumerman)? I know, that's one of the reasons they get pitted against each other. Skill vs. Strength. Will this version of Clark ever get some fighting skills? That can keep you from getting killed.

Even though this is the spoiler thread I'm still putting this in spoilers so

Batman's plan basically involves Kryptonite and elaborate traps. He has a lot of success in the fight but honestly he wouldn't have if Clark came in with the intention of killing him.

Does Bruce ever realize that he was acting like a jerk and overreacting?

[up] Yes. MASSIVELY. Like, 'Oh dear lord I'm a monster.' level of realisation.

I'd really like more details. And does he ever apologize to Clark for trying to murder him?

Moviebob is hit or miss depending on the subject, but his review on Dawn of Justice seems pretty good from what I read.

Moviebob was using too many f-bombs. I'm not a fan of that. What would Bruce's reaction to the fat that Clark was(and still is, to an extent) a rookie who had never been in a fight when Zod and his crew showed up. Clark was lucky to have survived! Too bad they didn't meet twenty years earlier.

Wheres the post that mentioned that one of them would win the physical fight, but the other one would have the moral victory?

Jesus, woman, just watching the movie will probably just take you 1/20th of the whole time you've spent here making questions, most of them the same ones phrased differently over and over again.

Yeah I got to be honest here Bookworm a lot of your questions are kind of repetitive.

I really don't want to be a jerk here since you seem nice but maybe next time before asking just think if maybe you've already been answered.
