Jamie Lynn Marie Spears (born April 4, 1991) is an American actress and singer-songwriter. While mostly known as the younger sister of the Princess of Pop, Britney Spears, she does have an audience of her own.
A former child star like her sister, Spears rose to fame when she starred in the Nickelodeon show Zoey 101 as the title character.
Spears became pregnant when she was just 16 years old and it was speculated that this was why Zoey 101 was canceled; however, this was proven false and it had been canceled before Spears fell pregnant. After this, Spears became a focus of tabloids, and many criticized her for supposedly glamorizing teen pregnancy, but she insisted that was not what she was doing. Spears took responsibility, she and her boyfriend got engaged, and she retired from acting to raise her daughter. Spears returned to acting five years later, appearing in a music video for her sister. In 2016, Spears focused on singing like her sister, making several music videos. In 2020, she starred in Sweet Magnolias. It was announced that Zoey 101 would be getting a spin-off film called Zoey 102, with Spears reprising her role.
