NSFW/Image Macro: Bribing Your Way To Victory.Video Games

The current appears to be an image macro. No ideas for a replacement, unless we want the move the image on Main to the subpage and replace it with either an example from card games or tabletop games.

I'm pretty sure that's a macro, or at least a Gag Sub.

It's definitely an image macro, and it's definitely just shoehorned into the page. The image doesn't even look like it's from the videogame and looks like it's taken from the cartoon, hence the media not matching the page.

I vote we pull it.

Definitely not from a video game. Most likely a joke based on the opening of Season 2 of MLP, but even then, that's a cartoon, not a game.

EDIT: Okay, I see what its trying to do - it's referring to the shitty freemium Gameloft mobile game, where you have to use the premium currency to buy characters to populate your Ponyville. Even then, the image is of the cartoon, while its relation to video games is all in the text, so... still yank with extreme prejudice.

Looking at the current in the main page, it appears to be from Penny Arcade, so moving's not really an option.

Not sure what could replace the one for the subpage...or should that be imageless?

That's misleading. Bribing Your Way to Victory is about using real money.

It's funny, given the rise of microtransactions I actually took for granted it was real money (or, at least, in-game currency that you could buy with real money).

Wouldn't in-universe examples be just the same?

That kind of removes the point of the trope, which is using out-of-game resources to gain in-game resources. The trops isn't about all bribing. It's not about literal bribing at all. As it says on the page, "In-game money doesn't count; it has to be real money."

Yeah, the point of the trope is that you can essentially shortcut the game by using real world resources.

If we counted buying stuff in-game anything with buyable objects (potions, weapons, armor, etc.) would technically count. And the other thing is that in-game money would't count because presumeably you'd have to earn that money in-game anyway, meaning you're not really skipping any of the game, just using an alternate method to progress.

Maybe not cropped but that bottom part could be cut-pasted fairly easily to remove some of that dead space.

Sure, a crop (or whatever) of 19 would work well.
