Digimon: Codex Server

Across the city of Notebook there have been mysterious QR codes popping up everywhere. People who scan these onto their phones find that they cause a mysterious transformation within the machine, turning them into Digivices. Local teacher and activist Amylase Alpsam takes note of these occurrences as well as the presence of mysterious monsters that appear from what seems to be static invading reality. Trying to defend the city, while still supporting these lost monsters known as "Digimon" she pairs up monsters with so called "Tamers" to protect the city from more dangerous members of their species. Amylase has found by questioning the monsters that they are all refugees from a Realm know as the Digital World, fleeing the wrath of an Entity named Yggdrasil. There are some Digimon that hold out hope that they were be able to find haven in the mythical Codex Server, a new world where the weak don't need to fear being snuffed out by the strong.

In short, your Tamers' short term goal is to protect the city. Their long term goal is to find the Codex Server and migrate all the troublesome Digimon to there. As far as human observers can see Digimon break down into data and vanish when killed so Amylase prefers non-lethal means of dealing with Digimon if possible.

Armor Digivolution willl be a bit later on. Like the QR codes Digieggs originate in 2D space and are drawn to people of certain virtues. When a character lives up to the ideal of that virtue the will be able to pull the Digiegg out of 2D space.

A note on Digimon lines. We prefer it if you use a line that could theoretically exist, even if it’s not a line shown in the anime. However if all members of the line share an obvious theme, we will allow non-canonical lines. This wiki contains all canonical evolutions and pre-evolutions of Digimon species.

As a note, occasionally some bits of the posts the G Ms will make might be encoded. The information in said codes is not vital to understanding the current story at all and is meant to add a mystery feel to this RP. The G Ms will be myself, Irene, and Philosopher Stones

• Digimon Line: Zippora. Zippora is a carefree and laid back Digimon that likes to take naps, often hanging upside down from whatever she can grab on the ceiling. She is generally empathetic as she will wake up often to listen to people's problems if asked to. Despite her generally lazy demeanor she cannot resist a direct challenge.

• Tamer Bio: Sophie was always someone who was incredibly optimistic as a child, seeing the brightest in bad situations. Her mother was a computer programmer who managed to keep up with a wide variety of hobbies, and activities while still having time for her family. Sophie always wanted to be like her mother when she grew up. Even after her father died, her mother was able to keep it together for Sophie. One day however she just didn’t return from work. No one has any idea what happened to her, though most believe that she is dead. Sophie still believes her mother is out there somewhere. She currently lives with her very spacy and liberal aunt, Carolyn Almassy.

Age: 17

• Personality: Sophie is always trying to do everything at the expense of the quality of any given task she tries. Sophie is always putting on a cheerful face and demeanor, but she is constantly wearing herself thin, and aware that she’s not very good at most of what she tries. She keeps going at it in hopes of emulating her mother, but she refuses to see that she cannot actually handle to pressure she puts on herself. One of the few things she has a genuine talent for is music, but she often ends up putting herself down even there because she’s used to failure at some level.

  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 15
  • Appearance: Brown skin and kinda tomboyish, short kinda rough(?) black/dark brown hair, her right eye is red while her left is brown. Pictured here in formal attire.
  • Tamer Bio: Alyesha's life so far wasn't really all that special. Her mother was a programmer in a local IT-company, while her father stayed at home to look after her when she was little. She always liked building models, and not small action figure models - functional scale models, so seeing her being covered or/and oil in grease isn't something unusual.
  • Personality: Bright, cheerful, always has a smile on her face, prone to minor pranks.

It likes to tinker with and repair machines, which makes him a pretty good match for Alyesha. While not really gullible he is at least far more likely to trust someone else than your average Digimon.

Burst Digimon are basically top tier Mega Digimon in this RP. It doesn't need to be "X Burst Mode" or anything.

Does that mean its basically a second Mega-Level Digimon? If not, since I couldn't find anything of that sort I'll just make it 'Ultimate Brachimon - Perfect Mode'

Yes. And you can pick a somewhat similar Machine Digimon, Mega for your Burst, we'd prefer that to making your own Digimon which brings in balance issue.

As for adding new Crests, that's a lot easier to manage than new Digimon, so if you got a picture, sure.

• Tamer Bio: Lilith was born to the head of a Tech giant in Germany. While her early year were rather peaceful, well in till she found martial arts. She train and study by day, but by night she would be out looking for trouble. While her parent turned a blind eye to her action, not everyone in her family did. Her brothers Eric and John would often join her night time adventure. While during the day, her sister would tease her about being a boy. When Lilith turned 15, her parent told her it was time to grow up. Lilith refused to, she took a pro-type called smart clothes. After a bit of modifying she took to the streets again. Though this time Lilith's parent didn’t take kindly to her behavior, Un-like they did in the past. Lilith was sent to the US to train under Erika Brandt, an old friend of her family who was opening up the US branch of their company.

• Personality: Lilith is an odd one. She generally feels bored around school and people. Well in till she gets into some form of competition. This need of competition often leads her to attack bullies, argue with teachers, and generally be a smart ass.

Note: The smart clothes are basically a wearable phone/computer. She has earrings that act as speakers, and a necklace with a mic in it. The most the clothes do is act as a phone, and possible change colors as needed.

• Digimon Line: Azoens. Azoens is rather similar to her tamer, an ultimately gentle and kind soul who experiences the occasional moment of awkward social misstep. She differs from him by being less withdrawn, less likely to ramble on and more likely to consider her fellow digital beings to be as alive as herself and her partner.

• Tamer Bio: Phil's life prior to the start of this whole, unusual affair was not what anyone was going to call unusual or dramatic. He grew up in a good house to good parents, he was quiet and reserved in school and did about average on tests. It's only once he started using a computer and being on the internet that he really came into his own and found his interests in gaming, coding and the less malicious side of hacking into networks and files. He's recently started looking for an actual job that makes use of his skills, preferably in IT.
• Personality: Phil is a slightly socially awkward but ultimately friendly fellow once you get past his stumbling first impressions and occasional moment of self-considering rambling about his own interests or his rationale of what might be happening. His background leads him to be secretive with his personal projects, a slight pervert in private and a little... Adamant on his theories of recent events, even so far as to considering digimon to simply be lifeless representations of specific files and code.

  • Armor: Thunderbirmon
  • Ultimate: Reapmon (Baalmon)
  • Mega: Beelzemon (Beelzebumon)
  • Burst: Beelzemon SDX Mode (Beelzebumon: SDX Mode; note, actually Xros Wars version)
  • Personality: Think Tamers' Impmon, but with less of an accent, more prowess with English, and can be a bit more serious than Tamers' Impmon was. Is still as prank-loving as the original one was, which makes him a great partner-in-crime with Arashi. Also loves reading, though it's mostly comics, manga, and other stuff. Overall, he's kind of an intellectual, at least more than Tamers' Impmon was anyway.
• Digi-Egg: Friendship
• Tamer Bio: Arashi is a Japanese-American, named after his maternal grandfather after he died around the time of his birth. Because of that, his parents put a lot of high expectations on him to be as successful as his grandfather. This has led to a sort of crack in their relationship by the time of his high school years, as he ultimately became more focused on marksmanship and pranks than they had wanted, due to the pacifism of his grandfather. However, they do mean well and truly care for their son and his happiness; whether he fully knows this or not is up for debate though, as his partial loner side stems from a belief that they truly want him to be something he's not, and from his own antisocial nature, though deep down, he truly wants friends but has no real clue how to make them.
  • One night, on his way home from school, he unknowingly gets drawn to a flash a light. Following that light he finds a small imp-like creature fighting a red dinosaur, and losing to it. Sensing a weird feeling, calling out to him to help, he soon rushes in to rescue the imp. Learning his name to be Impmon, he soon helps him drive off the Tyrannosaurus using a thought out plan of attack. Feeling a connection with Impmon, he soon let's him come home with him, nicknaming him Mephiles. Neither of them are aware of what is to soon come, though Arashi will ultimately find what he truly wanted, with some difficulty...
• Age: 18
• Personality: Arashi is a bit of a loner, who sees things in a very logical manner, and has an excellent memory. Despite his skills at academics he is just as much of a physical person, jogging every day to keep himself in shape and competing in sharpshooting competitions. As a person who values logic he tends to be excellent at making unbiased judgments. However he has tendencies to be angry when he is frustrated, and is prone to call out others for their mistakes if it's necessary, though with less inhibitions when emotions are high. He also has a bit of a curious side, always investing things that catch his interest. Another means of venting his frustration comes through the practical jokes he likes to pull. These extend to trolling others, online and in real life, and he also has a second hobby of listening to music, mostly to calm himself, though he does genuinely enjoy it. He also has a bit of a perverted side, which he is embarrassed to show. He may not show it often but he does in fact have a deep bond with his companions, and is capable of adapting to the situation in question, coming up with a plan if need-be if one is required, or if current plans shift.

• Tamer Bio: Matice grew up in Oregon and in the forests of the tempurate rainforest grew fascinated with insects. His parents grew concerned at his antisocial behavior, as he would often champion the superioty of a hive mind intelligence. They decided that Matice might have a healthier social life if there were more kids around, so they moved to the city. In the city he was still considered a weirdo and made little in the way of friends. However he bonded over the similarly odd Desmond, becoming fast friends. Matice in part due to loneliness, part due to his parents constant criticism became envious of Desmond and developed low self esteem. Because of this, Parasimon was able to easily take control of Matice, turning him dark, forcing Toyagumon to Slide Digivolve into Shadowtoyagumon. The parasite itself also made him feel more confident, making him think that his new self-esteem is natural.
• Age: 17
• Personality: Matice is obsessed with insects and has been from a young age. However other people hold little interest to him. He is very intelligent but tends to focus solely on his interests to the detriment everything else. When he does find someone he wants to connect with he is passionate and talks excitedly about insects, often annoying others. Because of this Matice has a strong desire to live in a Hive Mind without need to understand (or misunderstand) others. He is often intolerant of criticism, but in truth he has low self esteem due to years of parental intervention.

Erm, a question, do I have to play the Digimon with their respective characters as given by the wiki? 'cause Breakdramon sounds much more like an Antagonist than everything else. So yeah, can I play it as if at least some (read:mine) would be fighting for a good cause instead of wanting only blind destruction of everything?

Nope. I'm playing a Zhuqiaomon for example that is affectionate of humans as she is the same character as the Ziporra the Patamon. Also unless your Digimon has the word "lady" or "woman" in it's name or is based on a real person or specific mythological figure it's gender can be whatever you want. For example Seraphimon can be any gender you wish but Angewomon must be female.

Well since I don't plan to adhere to gender stereotypes (*cough* those are bullshit *cough*) I guess the only difference it would make are if the voice sounds more male or female and the gender pronoun.

Okay, since I already said that I find those gender clichee's kinda stupid and those things look a bit masculine (some of them anyway) I'm going with a female voice/pronoun for my Digimon line.

Sure, let me just fire up Blender and make a good model, I'm thinking about a stylized cross between brain and heart to show how trust is affected by both, since you need to feel (heart) enough for somenone to let yourself into a situation you probably logically (brain) wouldn't want to be in otherwise
