Matilda or Robot Wars remains dead to me.
Dead Metal was always my favourite of the House Robots. Matilda I only remember for being absolutely destroyed by contestants but that's the extent of my recall.
They can keep that 'Sir-Killalot-with-a-hammer' knockoff out of it though. Whatever the heck his name even was.
"These 'no-nonsense' solutions of yours just don't hold water in a complex world of jet-powered apes and time travel."What's Jonathan Pierce doing these days?
Craig's wrapped on the next two Red Dwarf series apparently, so he ought to be up for this gig.
I haven't seen Robot Wars in years. I remember it being fucking awesome, though.
They'd better bring back Craig Charles.
simple asBan disc attacking robots (I'm looking at you hypodisc)
those things were too over powered
New theme music also a boxHypnodisc never won a series and all its ripoffs did disastrously. The discs were typically fragile, unreliable, and their existance generally nullified SRIMECH.
Mr Psycho is the stupid house robot with the fist, yeah he doesn't need to come back.
So amazingly psyched for this, I loved this show then and still love it now.
Looks like you're in luck:

Yes. I do remember watching Robot Wars when it was on Nickelodeon GAS. I thought it was awesome.
Are you kidding? It's the ubiquitous flipper robots that got boring; the really destructive robots like Hypnodisc and Razer were the most entertaining.
With cannon shot and gun blast smash the alien. With laser beam and searing plasma scatter the alien to the stars.Sunday 24th July.
That is when THE WARS BEGIN AGAIN!
The new House Robots look so good.
“And the Bunny nails it!” ~ Gabrael “If the UN can get through a day without everyone strangling everyone else so can we.” ~ CyranDon't they just. Shame Bash isn't returning, but other than setting Diotior/Nemesis on fire, he really didn't do much of anything. Certainly nothing the others couldn't do better.
Returners should be interesting to see. I hope this is a big hit so we get a proper, full length 20+ episode series next year.
But I liked the random pyrotechnics.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Here we go, first heat! Everything in spoilers just to be sure.
First heat has 3 returning contenders - Razor! Behemoth, and Terrorhurtz are the others.
And Razor are out straight away! Put another robot in the pits and went in themselves!

I think Carbide looked like it had the same problem Hypnodisc had in the early days - hitting so hard it was smashing its own internals.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Looks like it. Impressive weapon when it's working though. Very unlucky for Terrorhertz, because as Carbide themselves admitted, Terrorhertz is a hard counter to Carbide.
To be honest, I don't see Carbide winning the competition, as reliability could be an issue, and there will be other robots as strongly armoured as Terrorhurtz to come, I think.
It was ridiculously amusing watching Behemoth fling Nuts' mini-bots all over the arena.
Hitokiri in the streets, daishouri in the sheets.I'm pretty sure the only reason Razor and co came back was to show how much things have changed.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Nah, they're way too dedicated for that. Their suicidal nature has been a part of them since the start unfortunately; comes with being one of the most technically sophisticated robots in the field.
The Worf Effect definitely in evidence though.

Here we go! Heat 2 doesn't have any that I recognise from the past except Thor, though I'm not saying there's definitely no veterans here.
Well, that was not a classic heat by any means. Shame Mr Speed Squared couldn't get that blade working after the first battle, because it failing to work made the rest of the heat dire. Shockwave could do well if they don't idiotically swap out the solid front scoop again though; they did well to beat Thor in the rematch. The idea of a scoop that goes all the way around the robot is a clever one. Thor drove well and I saw something of Dominator 2 at its best in it.

Also looks like the safety link problem is still in evidence, which finished at least one robot this episode.
"Yup. That tasted purple."I really wouldn't want to be within a country mile of Rex Garrard when he heard about that...
Note: He was the Cassius team leader, one of the most famous and respected Roboteers in the first 3 series, finalist in the first two, but left in a seriously pissed off mood after safety failings led to at least two serious injuries on set. His complaints apparently were ignored.

How the heck did Foxic get through? I mean sure, they didn't get too badly damaged, but they hardly did anything either.
The meme is love, the meme is life. Go check out my youtube channel. :) https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC5XjInl2Il9SGEQbyyU0djAWait. No Craig Charles? No appearance from the guy who pretty much BUILT the franchise?
This sucks.
Since the series being rebooted, I think that it should have its own thread here.
If you have a problem with Hokuto then tell it to me!
