Wolverines full name is James Howlett. Then there is Union Jack, James Wesley (not a hero, but still) and James Rodgers.

Well, and James Gunn.....

Peter Parker, Peter Quill, Pete Wisdom, and Piotr Rasputin all dated Kitty Pryde in one continuity or another.

[up]I can see it now: After Kitty Pride dies in a terrible catastrophe, all four Peters unite and venture into hell to save Kitty's soul, as Mephistso has claimed said soul because Quesada became Editor in Chief again and wanted a sequel to One More Day he's funny like that. And then when they finally get there, they engage in an epic battle to the death dance off contest to decide who is best deserving of shagging Kitty going on a date with her. Instant classic.

I still think that the Peter Quill/Kitty Pryde ship was actually a Crack Pairing somebody at Marvel came up with a as joke, but then someone higher up was like, "hey, that's cool! Do it!!" and then approved it.

I imagine you can make a pretty badass team with Johns instead. It's harder with female names though. I don't know how many Janes there is.

Its not the actual name but I've proposed the Marvel team before, consisting of every character with a marvel in their codename, past or present.

[up] So Mar-Vell, Carol Danvers, Monica Rambeau, Genis-Vell, Phyla-vell, Kamala Khan, Sharon Ventura, Jean Grey, Rachel Summers, Robert Grayson, Wendell Vaughn, Vance Astrovik, Noh-Varr, and Adam Brashear all team up? Sweet.

With that many it might be to many for one team, why not two competing teams? Or more then two...

No this is like a Legion of Superheroes situation. A super large team to provide a rotating cast of characters.

Actually, they would play a game of capture the flag with Steve Rogers, James Buchanan Barnes, Sam Wilson, John Walker, Madeline Joyce, America Chavez, and the Thunderiders (Cowboy, Honcho, Wolf, Wrench, and R.U. Reddy).

Yes, that's right: it's Team Marvel versus Team America.

I will always bet on whatever team has Monica Rambeau on it. Because holy shit she's over-powered.

I was listening to a podcast last night where people were doing "Who would win in a fight?" discussions, and one was a Captain Marvel battle royale. Initially, one of them said Shazam would win, but everyone else immediately said Monica, and even the first guy changed his vote. Because Monica is so overpowered, and she is so awesome.

(They also decided that, given an urban environment, Storm would probably beat Thor, which I disagree with. And they decided Silver Surfer would beat the Punisher, even if the Punisher had a bazooka.)

X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.

Monica once hacked the wavelength of the green lantern ring.

It was pretty spiffy.

[up][up]I was about to complain about that myself, but then I noticed alliterator was only taking people with "America" in their names (or team name). I guess it would be too unyielding to have every patriotic hero there.

Jack Flag? There's a Jack Flag? *looks up* my god, there is. And apparently Cap used to have a female protege named Free Spirit? My god, Marvel, how many country-themed heroes do you have!?

Oh, yeah, there is no shortage of those. Out of the top of my head, I remember the American Eagle (flag colors and Native American motif!) and Citizen V(but he was secretly Baron Zemo, so it probably doesn't count), aside from the ones already mentioned in the thread.

That is a lot of Flag Weavers!

Speaking of which, I'm pretty curious about what Jessica calls the rest of the Avengers, since she calls the Hulk "the big green guy" and Cap "the flag waver."

I want to believe JJ would call Thor "point break", and be really pissed of when she finds out she and Tony Stark came up with the same nickname.
