Ara Haan (Tunnel of Love) - Let's Get Reckless

As expected, the energy ball damaged the statue quite a lot, making an entire arm explode, and also causing the lights there to go out. It was a relief to see my power had returned to normal. The man in the fancy outfit seemed to be impressed as well, and he promptly asked for my name. Right, I had not introduced myself properly yet.

"Ara Haan," I announced with a short bow. "Pleased to meet..."

He wasn't looking at me. He was looking back in the direction I had thrown my attack. I rose back up and glanced over there out of curiosity.

The armless statue was there, on the edge of the light, baring its sharp teeth an pointing at the now flickering lights. That meant three things:

First, it was no ordinary statue. It was most likely some sort of monster that attacked the oblivious and careless.

Second, it could probably only move in the darkness, which was possibly why it could not get to us in the light, and was trying to make it fail somehow.

And third... it would die by my hand.

"Please stay back," I requested to the stranger next to me before I started running, "and try to stay close to the floor!"

I closed most of the distance between myself and the creature in four long steps, and the moment I touched the floor I shoved both of my hands forward, only a handful of feet away. All I needed to get him well within range of the void.

The energy sphere that I formed wasn't large at all; it was a shining golden sphere, only slightly bigger than my average energy ball. But thanks to me feeding it more and more energy, it was starting to grow quite fast, and larger objects were starting to get pulled towards it. It was already tugging at my hair, at my clothes, at the spear on my back, and at everything else nearby, in an attempt to pull them all into the same destination as the pebbles and water it had already consumed, all the time getting bigger and stronger.

I chose to let it grow for eight seconds more or less. By that time it had grown to be bigger than I was tall, and it was almost touching my hand. I could no longer see the winged statue, but since it wasn't that far away, it was safe to assume that at least most of it was being either crushed by the pressure or consumed by the energy in the void. Unfortunately, what came next was by far my least favorite part.

The orb's violent explosion didn't only push me back towards the floor, but it also really hurt my hands. It didn't injure them severely or anything of the sort, specially since most of the time the energy just flowed right through me, but it still hurt a lot.

Lewis - Ferris Wheel - Actually it's a stupid creepypasta from the internet

"No, I'm being completely serious. I found a page of it and then we got attacked and that's how—"

I did a Double Take.

"Wait, you have the internet where you're from?" I asked, starting to follow the rpg miniboss, partly for the sake of conversation but mostly because I might as well if she too was looking for a fight. "You don't...you don't look like you're from a modern setting. Did someone give you that getup? When are you from?"

At the ferris wheel

Garrett approached the collapsed pile of metal, and stopped short of the still-sizzling puddle of acidic blood which left no doubt as to what was underneath all this scrap. "Well, guess I can cross that one off my list," he mused, before suddenly a strange mechanical buzz began approaching them. Garrett quickly hid in the shadows, drawing a gas arrow and looking carefully towards where the noise was coming from.

Someone clad in red, menacing armor came down the path, brandishing two odd weapons which looked like axes studded with saw-teeth. Garrett gripped the bow more tightly, wondering whether the gas would pass through the helmet, but then Lewis engaged the newcomer in casual conversation. It seemed she (a woman, judging from the voice) was harmless.

Garrett relaxed, although he didn't put the bow away just yet. When Lewis and the woman turned to leave, Garrett followed after them; there was something he needed to tell the pink ghost. For now, he just listened to their conversation, waiting until he could get a word in.

Yoshika, Balloon Party, Button Mashing
No, this was absolutely not going to do. The slow piercing of her skin wasn't felt at all (like being stabbed mattered for her in the first place), so she barely even noticed as the fight went on around her. She was staring into the not-face of her enemy with all of the same determined, frenzied look in her eyes as before.

Never breaking eye-contact (technically), she tried to grab at the nearest tentacle and rip it off, so she could beat him with it.

Balloon Cart

With a final shove, Jack managed to get out from under Hobbes. Scrambling on all fours for a moment, he snatched up his staff from where it had fallen and stood to leap at Slenderman. He stopped, face filled with worry when he realized almost everyone else was already bearing down on the monster. He felt a small pang of relief at the sight of See falling free of the thing's grasp, but Tommy was still in danger.

Sprinting towards the melee, the Guardian brought his staff around in an upward swing aimed at the arm holding Tommy; Aiming to knock it away and free the boy. At the same time the staff collided, the crook pointed at Slenderman's body, Jack unleashed another bolt of magic at it.

Leaving the pool building

"What? Dude, do you not know how this city works? It keeps bringing in stuff from fiction, since it turns out those are real universes out there and stuff. Working based on knowledge acquired from fiction isn't that bad of an idea here; heck it's how I stayed alive all of today, and knew how to try dealing with that ghost back there" the Fanboy explained to Plague Knight, motioning back towards the locker and pool rooms they'd just left.

"Besides, it's pretty much what the group I'm in is all about" the Fanboy continued, pointing with his thumb to the symbol on his beanie. "We even have a term for it; we call it being genre savvy" he added.

Then he looked to Viola. "I'm Steve" he introduced himself simply with a small smile.

Walking away from the ferris wheel

Kelsey glanced at Lewis without a word for a moment, while still walking. "... Except for your suit, your not exactly one to talk" Kelsey muttered, turning her head back to looking at where she was going. "The librarian gave it to me. I'm from a bland Earth, 2015" she told him, before adding in a slightly darker tone, "but that doesn't matter now."

Behind them, the militia member looked somewhat worried about them walking off, frowning with his eyebrows a bit lowered. Rather than follow them though, he holstered his phaser and moved over towards Arcade and Eve to see how they were doing.

Beyond Shrimpdome

Morty was already a few feet ahead of the rest of the advancing group. Eye twitching, revving chainsaw still roaring in his hands, he frantically eyed every movement, every motion in the woods as though ready to pounce on the first thing that moved.

"Alright, Morty, y-you go. Go get those *urp* go get those monsters." shouted Rick by way of encouragement as he hefted his crossbow over his shoulder. "Don't trip and fall on your own ass, I don't wanna *urp* I-I don't wanna clean up your damn head or whatever."

Morty screamed a string of incoherent words in response and darted down a random path deeper into the woods; Rick sighed and followed his grandson.

Near the pizza place, which side are we rooting for again?
Seven- no, eight down, seven to go

With another blast from his jump pack and a quick battle cry, Brother Marcus descended downwards faster than terminal velocity, his feet slamming down onto Chica's back as she was pulling away from headbutting Foxy again. The animatronic was practically flattened underneath him, spare bits of scrap and electronics peppering outwards. At the same time as he was crushing Chica, his chainsword came down onto Freddy's head, the spinning teeth combined with the downward momentum to tear through it and through Foxy's shoulder that he was just letting go of; with his head sawed in half, Freddy fell to the ground, motionless and dead.

Brother Marcus turned his helmet towards Ben just after Ben turned human. "YOU!" Brother Marcus roared angrily, bringing his bolt pistol up towards Bonnie almost as an afterthought, and pulling the trigger just as the animatronic turned towards him. The animatronic rabbit's exposed face exploded outwards and it staggered back, yet amazingly did not yet fall over dead; the baby hornet was blown clear as Bonnie accidentally let go of it, skidding across the stone pathway. Shaking a little, it tried to get up and fly, but only moved sideways awkwardly because one wing had half of it ripped away.

"Ben, get out of here" Rachel said urgently as Brother Marcus started to step towards them.

"I WILL HAVE WORDS WITH YOU, LITTLE HERETIC!" Brother Marcus yelled, then halted as Foxy snagged his hook on the underside of the space marine's pauldron and lunged up to start biting at his helmet. Before he could bring his chainsword up to bear against Foxy, the blind Bonnie swept his arm around wildly, managing to smack the sword out of Brother Marcus' grip. "GET OFF ME YOU ABOMINABLE INTELLIGENCE!" the space marine exclaimed, wasting no time in starting to punch and shove at Foxy.

Pool building

Steve looked up and raised an eyebrow as he heard the slightly distant boom of a bolter shell going off. "I don't know of any horror monsters that fling around explosives; that was probably another person like us" Steve theorized. "Still, you want to go check it out?" he asked Plague Knight and Viola.

Near the balloon cart, getting frustrated and breaking out the special moves

The struggle for Forrest's bat was going nowhere fast until Lucas ran in and smacked the tendrils with his own bat, forcing them to let go. Lucas was unable to continue his assault from there as Slender Man had since shaken off the blow to his arm, and swept out a lightning quick back hand into Lucas. His self-casted shield broke from the impact and he was flung backwards several meters, where he hit the balloon cart and had his personal shield from the belt generator shatter on impact; Lucas himself however was unharmed thanks to the two.

As that was happening, even with her strength Yoshika was finding it difficult to make any of the tendrils tear away; though they felt solid enough, they felt more like fabric or just the physical idea of a shadow rather than flesh, and stretched a lot. And with her effort on that, the tendrils continued stabbing into her more and more and impeding her movements.

But with all its attention towards those three, Slender Man didn't react at all to Jack rushing in and hitting his other arm, making him suddenly drop Tommy before Jack's ice bolt hit Slender Man in the chest. He lurched back a bit and the tendrils holding Yoshika awkwardly dropped her to the ground, but he didn't look that much hurt or damaged aside from a slight frost covering the chest of his suit. He took a step back, his long legs contributing to a big stride and moving him away from the melee for a moment. All his back tendrils reeled up and back, pointing down and forward as they seemed to go rigid; after a brief moment they all extended and stabbed forward at incredible speed, such that anyone who was directly in front of Slender Man would get impaled several times over.

Walking into the woods, reentering combat posting

Finally Morty would spot something he could take his anger out on: It was the brute of a monster that had first chased Viola and some of the militia around the haunted house ride, slowly walking through the woods with thumping footsteps. It heard him approaching of course, between his chainsaw and his mad raving, and looked over with its glowing red face. Letting out its barely human-like roar, it started charging forward towards him.

The Grinch, Rick, and Curly would all see this starting to happen, and also feel this odd and awkward sense of dread.

Probably because, even though he couldn't have been hiding anywhere close enough without them seeing him beforehand, Jason Voorhees was standing just a few feet behind the three of them.

Walking away from the ferris wheel

Before, or more likely just as Lewis was starting to respond, Kelsey's head jerked up and she looked over one way. "A chainsaw, and screaming" Kelsey thought out loud as she heard the distant sounds in the overgrown woods she was looking towards. "That's my cue!" she said with a murderous enthusiasm, already charging forward into the woods.

Tunnel of Love, leaving combat
Nine down, six to go

As the blast cleared, there was no sign of the Weeping Angel except for debris on the floor, leaving no doubt that it had been killed.

As the lights stopped flickering and remained on again, Jackson let out an impressed whistle. "Damn Ara, that was an impressive display" Jackson said, currently laying on his back, head towards Ara; he was resting the back of his head on his hands, and looking up Ara's dress with a cheeky grin. "And the explosion was pretty good too" he added, letting out a snicker.

"Name's Jackson, by the way" Jackson added, still remaining on the floor like that for the moment.

Ben kept running, not looking back when Brother Marcus started calling for him. "Later!" Ben exclaimed. "Who isn't a heretic in this stupid city?!" he muttered under his breath. As he ran, he started to fidget with his Omnitrix, glaring a little at the faceplate as it remained red and stayed locked, unable to move. "C'mon, XLR8, c'mon, XLR8..." he repeated quietly, trying desperately to fidget with it so he could escape this bad situation he had ended up in. He just hoped the robots would keep him distracted long enough for Ben to make his getaway.

Balloon Cart-Why do we get the toughest guy?

Lucas was about to make another hit when he felt an impact that would surely have at least broken something if it weren't for his double shield layer. Of course, the shields were gone now. Still no power left in him. This almost seemed unfair. Lucas was beginning to think that the guy with the scissors was only there to get people separated for the real threat's opening move. As he got up, Lucas watched the fight carefully.

No one was doing anything to it. While Yoshika didn't seem to be debilitated by pain, one couldn't ignore bindings just because they couldn't feel them. But Jack... Jack had hit it! It seemed to have actually been affected by that impact! Wait, what was it doing?

It moved unnaturally, a long step back carrying it a fair distance away. It's tentacles started to point in one direction. They were... tensed. Lucas had seen enough creatures backed into a corner to get a bad feeling from this. His keen mind, honed through many fights, could tell it was about to do something. He wasn't sure what, but it couldn't be good.

Lucas yelled out to everyone "EVERYONE, GET AWAY FROM IT!'' As he said this, Lucas decided to take advantage of the fact that it seemed to be devoting all its tendrils to this. He quickly retreated behind the balloon cart and started eating his magic pudding like his life depended on it, which it did. Hopefully, the fact he hadn't eaten all day would help him with that. If he could recover his energy, they might be able to pull through with this. He would continue watching the scene as he ate.

Yoshika, Balloon Party, Certain Kill!
Tendrils of physical matter or no, she pulled on them for as long as she could. When she was dropped, Yoshika didn't even notice that he might've been withdrawing for an attack, all she could see was an opportunity! She tried to lunge at the thing one more time, but found herself inexplicably moving upwards...
Seiga, Finding a Friend, Certainly Was Killed
Seiga was, by her own admission, curious about death. For the woman who had spent countless years doing everything she could to avoid it, the tantalizing mystery of what your final moments felt like was always something she worried about. In this city, she considered learning first hand many times, only withholding because it would probably frighten Yoshika into a useless mess.

She never considered that her first taste of dying wouldn't be by her own decision, though. Having tried it out, she wasn't fond of it.

The hermit got off the ground with a sigh, as she tried to figure out what was going on, but she noticed something had changed. The enchanted silken scarf she had around her body had been anything but the whole day, hanging limply about her shoulders. Now, it was like it had always been, floating limply around her shoulders, lightly waving in a breeze that didn't exist. Seiga had her powers back!

Taking to the skies without a second thought, she flew above the now well-lit city in search of someone she probably should have treated better. For all of her luck, the girl must've broken down without her hours ago...

It didn't take long to find her, scanning the streets for that familiar red shirt, and she was about to get herself killed by the looks of it. Classic Yoshika. With a lazy wave of the hand, she brought her servant back...

Seiga & Yoshika, Together It's a Certain Kill!!!
Yoshika was brought up and over Slendy by Seiga's will, giving her a brief view of the hermit she loved to much. Her eyes brightened in joy as she shouted "Lady Seiga!", and Seiga replied "Yes, hello, Yoshika! Kill it, please!"

Now that she was behind the man in a suit, Yoshika was brought back for a moment before Seiga launched her forward with all of her might, trying to slam into her back with her servant's torso as a battering ram, and Yoshika tried to latch herself onto the thing once again.

Hobbes scrambled away to get Jack out from under him as fast as he could, before dusting himself off and looking at the monster make himself into a pufferfish. Grimacing at the thought of being impaled in such a manner. Hobbes looked for anything sufficiently heavy that he could throw at the monster. Something like a chair, a fire extinguisher, or a convenient anvil. Once he found such a projectile, he'd hurl it at the monster's head after shouting a warning for his allies to get down.

Heading Away from the Ferris Wheel

Calvin decided to use his wagon's restored flight ability to take to the skies and search for Hobbes, hoping that the forces of horror didn't have any pteranodons on their side. He looked for a ramp or some other way for his wagon to get up to the necessary speed.

Lewis - Ferris Wheel ==> Woods - Getting the (Plot) Band Back Together, Hopefully

A perfectly mundane 2015, huh. So the getup was a request from the librarian. She must have really wanted to get into combat to ask for it at whatever point she did. Which couldn't have been today, given the library was just flat-out gone...what had she been so intent on planting those chainaxes in?

I barely had time to give a meager "Touché" to her comment about my appearance before she charged enthusiastically ahead of me, after the sound of horrible chainsaw massacring.

Oh hell nah. I had more irons in the fire involving that thing than she did. If anyone was going to have that guy's ass on a platter, it was going to be me.

"NOT IF I GET THERE FIRST!" I shouted as I frenetically sped ahead to try and overtake her and reach the chainsaw murderer first. Watching for the woods to part to reveal the foe, I readied a series of flames that trailed in midair just behind me, prepared to launch them like a rain of projectiles upon the chainsaw-wielding...Morty?

He was charging like a berserker at a hulking beast I didn't recognize, that had begun charging at him in turn. Some ways behind him, Rick, Curly, and the Grinch (what an odd choice of guest on the writer's part) were trying to keep up, and were being trailed by...oh of course Jason would show up at some point. It wasn't the horror genre without him, was it.

"Behind you!" I shouted; no sooner did I produce the words did I begin to aim at the larger enemy...

Wandering outside - Defenses up

People ended up rushing off to fight the horrible creatures, now that they had gotten their means of doing so back. That left their usual trio of herself, Sans and Caro, which was more than fine with her. What was not so fine was the reaction that Cole got off getting his powers back, which she probably should have expected. Thankfully, Sans had an amulet in handy to stop that from going any further.

Discussions then turn to what to do next, with Cole wondering if he should try his hand at taking the amulet off and sense any incoming threats. She had to agree with Sans on that one. It's too much risk at very little to no gain.

"Yeah, he's right. We can do fine without it. At least it's pretty bright now, so it will be harder for them to lurk and catch us by surprise ... Althought that does also makes it harder for us to hide from them ... " Caro said, sighing a bit, before adding, "We need every advantage we can get, so let me do this ... "

She then proceeded to cast her defense and speed boost combination on all of them . That should give them the kind of edge they need to survive the remainder of all this.

"Alright, that should do it. I should have enough to shield us and/or restraining threats for a bit, which is really relief ... Well, let's going then," and with that said, she and Fried resumed moving, while keeping careful eyes out for both any potential threats, as well as any sutaible, defendable places to hide in.

Still, he just nodded again, waiting as Caro used magic on them and then started to lead them in searching for somewhere else to go to be safe. He followed along, fiddling with the amulet and keeping his gaze lowered.

"I..."

Whatever it was he seemed to want to say trailed off nearly immediately, leaving him looking just...confused. Tired, and worn down, and like a nap wasn't the worst idea, but also like he was mulling over a particularly difficult puzzle in his head. Watching would show him start to open his mouth, then close it again, just frowning each time.

Finally, he seemed to choose some words. "Are...a-are you...are you both...both a-all right?"

Sans could feel himself moving faster as he followed after Caro cast her spell on them. It seemed like she had almost completely lost all that fear that she had when he first found her. That was a relief, for sure, and so was the fact that what wounds she got during this day were now gone thanks to her healing magic. It did bring Sans some comfort that he was able to help her, at least a little bit.

He then turned to Cole after hearing him ask how they were doing. "nothing really happened to me all day, so i think out of the three of us i was the least affected by the crazy stuff that we had to deal with today." He shrugged.

Hidden in the shadow of trees, he made his way towards the forest path. Off to the side and in the distance, he heard the sound of heavy footsteps clomping down the path, then a shape of a hulking monster flashed behind the treeline. It was rushing through the forest towards... someone who was currently screaming bloody murder.

Garrett saw that person a moment later, and barely managed to stifle an oath of surprise. It was just a boy — the thief may have caught a glimpse of him once or twice in the city — but he was running at the monster like he was in some sort of a berserker rage. And, it turns out, the whirring sound came from a nasty-looking mechanical saw held in the boy's grasp.

Near him, Gon apparently saw someone and prepared that weapon of his. Garrett cast a quick look over where Gon was pointing, and saw some tall figure, but from where he was standing he didn't recognize it right away. Only a moment later he realized he's seen that guy before... it was the masked man with the giant knife.
