It was then a cowboy approached Plague Knight and Grimlock. Not that the alchemist had any idea what a cowboy was. The first thing he asked was why everyone was attacking Mickey Mouse.

"Are you referring to the King?" Plague Knight asked. "If so, then yes, there was. Defeating him in a rather comedic manner was the goal of today. We are apparently successful as it granted us all the ability for long distance communication if we have the proper devices. Those members of the Ruckus, however, thought cold blooded murder was a viable option, but the others were adamant in a non-violent option."

Outside the Library - time to go shopping

"fruit, juice and granola bars, got it," said Sans, then turning around and beginning to walk away "i'll see you girls back in the library, later."

He gave them a wave as he left, crossing the streets would be no issue considering his ability to freely teleport around, all he could hope for is that the city wasn't feeling spiteful and let him get to another store efficiently. If nothing else he was hoping he would come across a store with cellphones in it so he could get some for the others and solve both issues at the same time.

The library

Tiaree said that she wasn't sure if her boss was behind it, but he was capable of doing something like this. She had to check it that was the case.

"Ok, take your time. Can you also check if Ben and Twilight are actually 'possessed'? I don't want to fight the guy and then find out Cole is just seeing things that aren't there"

Shopping Spree

"..." The girl silently gathered the relevant wares that she could. Seeing that the place wasn't manned by anyone relevant and probably came into the City with its stock that would otherwise go to waste, Ranma didn't feel guilty in the least about taking what she could. Food and water was gathered, the nonperishables stuffed in her backpack until it bulged comedically while the perishables were put into the largest refrigerator that she could find. Said storage unit was then simply plucked up like a farmer carrying a chicken as the girl carried everything she could outside of the store, the backpack and fridge blocking everything but her dainty little legs from view. Listening in on the conversation, the young woman nodded as she put two and two together. "Ah, that makes sense on why everyone and their grandmas were trying to go after the mouse-man."

Shiara nodded at Miss Tairee, "thanks". She then looked at Ben and Rex.

"You guys didn't mention that there were axe-crazy guys and people who could possess people. I would've liked to be made aware of that fact."

Mary - Sweets, Here I Come!

"Oh yay!"

Mary's excitement was fairly obvious as she joined Old Feather Beak on his way downstairs. She should've mentioned what she'd always wanted to do days ago. Getting people in the city to help her was surprisingly easy!

She followed her new guide closely, humming cheerfully along the way and forgetting almost entirely about that strange sensation she'd felt. Chocolate was far more important than whatever that had been.

His plan of ignoring the ridiculous had already failed Hol Horse, as he thought that the little Bill attached to Grimlock actually was some kind of giant keychain. Finally noticing that it was actually a talking shape with an eye, he took the little triangle's words to heart and tried his best to not mind him. His mindset needed some reworks.

"Goal? What, is that why people are out and about instead of hiding?" Hol Horse rubbed his chin, and thought for a moment. "Makes sense. That sunova#!%# must want us to do something if we aren't being held for ransom." There was some hint of concern in his head that Mickey had done the unthinkable, and tried to attack them or something, but luckily this wasn't the case. "I'm not speakin' for everyone, but trying to kill a children's icon like that is just plain wrong." Something in that last sentence stuck out to him, and he finally realized a giant mouse-shaped elephant in the room. "...I'm not sure about where you guys come from, but where I'm from Mickey Mouse isn't real," he said in a state of shock. "He's in movies and books. He's a character, not a living thing like that. What the hell did I just see?"

"The short answer would be the machinations of a very bored God," Plague Knight said simply. He then looked around. "Seems like everyone here has finished shopping already, let us head over to my residence." He turned to Hol Horse. "Would you like to join us for some dinner?" he asked.

Aigis-Library

After Hol Horse departed, Aigis continued at a run and reached the library. Entering with her loud robotic steps, she glanced around the room at the various people. She heard one of the people at the desk of the woman she had spoken to earlier asking something about Ben and Twilight's possession, and stopped nearby, curious as to what the answer would be

Troubling discoveries, inside the library

Miss Tairee didn't say anything as there would be no point, and didn't type up a response yet either as she was busy typing something else on the typewriter. After about a minute and a ding! from the typewriter later, her eyes started glowing and she looked at Ben. The librarian's mouth dropped open slightly as her eyebrows lowered, then she took another few moments typing something else on the typewriter.

She stood up from her chair slightly and reached over the desk to Ben, then abruptly jammed one hand into his ear, comically stretching it out to accommodate. After rifling her hand around in his brain through cartoon physics, she pulled it back out, holding a glow in her hand. She glared at it, then crushed it in her hand, making it dissipate into nothing. With that taken care of, she went back to the typewriter, this time to finally type up a message to those at the desk with her.

I know what you're dealing with. One moment.

Once she'd placed that on the desk, she started typing again, quickly keying in some commands; a few books flew out of the upper floors and dropped themselves down like before; Miss Tairee used her hand to stop one before it could hit Ben's head, then had one bonk herself in the head as a few more went for Rex, Twilight, Shiara, and Aigis. They were more of those 'Warhammer 40,000' books about Brother Marcus' universe. Rubbing her head, Miss Tairee grabbed one that was apparently an 'army rulebook' for 'Chaos', and flipped through it to find a page and show it to those around the desk. Pictured prominently on one side was a large, humanoid bird figure, that if sure enough was black and white, cartoonishly proportioned, and smaller, would be the spitting image of Old Feather Beak. And on the other page, it described a Lord of Change; a greater demon of the Chaos god of change, Tzeentch, known for being extremely powerful sorcerers specialized in deception and trickery.

Placing the book on the desk for them to read as they pleased, Miss Tairee got up again and approached Twilight, preparing to reach towards her and do the same she'd done to Ben. In the back of Twilight's mind, now that it knew what was coming this time, the influence of the demon lashed out against her mind, determined to do some damage before it could be removed. Thankfully, with how weak the presence was, it couldn't do more than give her a migraine and fill her head with voices speaking an eldritch language.

Walk with the devil, apartment building

Old Feather Beak led Mary downstairs and into one of the apartments, heading right into the small kitchen and pausing before the refrigerator. "Eh, whadd'ya want?" the refrigerator asked, swinging its door open as a mouth.

"Do you have 'ice cream', or 'jelly'?" Old Feather Beak asked.

"Yeah I've got ice cream. Here- P'TOO!" the refrigerator spat a small tub of ice cream out of its freezer, which smacked right into Old Feather Beak's face and bounced up into the air before landing perfectly on the small counter next to him. 'Chocolate fudge surprise' was the labeled flavor.

Reeling back, Old Feather Beak rubbed his face for a moment and reached for the ice cream tub, but then paused, letting out a quick breath as if startled and held a hand on his head like he had a headache. "That was... Surprising" Old Feather Beak muttered, talking about more than one thing. "Here child, enjoy" he said in a kind tone, handing Mary the tub of ice cream before rifling through some drawers for a spoon to hand to her.

The whole demonic possession thing was confusing Twilight for a while, and while she wanted to protest the accusation that she was, she didn't so as not to make the situations worse. Now that those books on Warhammer 40k were in front of her, it was clear. And she saw a dead-ringer for the bird she and Ben had met.

She then felt a bit of panic, not helped by the mysterious headache she was now feeling that may have something to do with the demon. If the Warhammer 40K verse was as bad as had been implied, she wasn't sure what could be done. The fact the only other person in the city from this particular universe was someone she had been told was a ruthless xenophobe to the extreme made things worse, as he probably wouldn't be interested in trying to help (if he even knew of a way to help anyway).

"So... Is there anything that can be done to help me? Do I really have something in my head too?"

In the streets - well would you look at that.

While walking around the city, it looked like out of the two goals, Sans came across what seemed to be an electronic store. He went inside and, as expected, there were a bunch of cellphones going unused in there, he picked up one of them to see if it was still working. Conveniently, it already seemed to be fully operational, although they didn't have the dimensional box function. He then went to grab a plastic bag somewhere in the store and proceeded to dump a bunch of cellphones into it, figuring he might as well distribute them around if need be.

"guess i'll be teaching people how to use a cellphone, once i go back" he said to himself, letting out a chuckle.

He then left the store in a hurry and began searching for a market or something to get food for the girls. He briefly took a look at the starry sky above, it seemed a lot more dull when everything was monochrome. He really wanted that day to be over soon, but then again he probably needs to get the food before he ended up passing out in the middle of the street.

"Bye..." Sadness watched Ben go with a halfhearted wave. So much for being tired.

After a few minutes of sitting in silence and watching everyone walk around, talk about things, etc etc (or in the case of Cole and that scary girl, walk upstairs by themselves and then not come down), she realized something: there was a mission that Sadness had yet to fulfill. This was no time to sit around and mope even harder than usual. Joy's philosophy went something went wrong was always something like, you just have to work hard and stay determined and everything would turn out all right!!!

On the other hand, Sans was nowhere to be seen.

She found one of the next best things, though. After scanning the room, Sadness slid off the couch and went off across the room. She reached Zelda's table, where the woman (odd not seeing her as a youngish girl, but Sadness still recognized her...she was pretty sure) was sitting with her head facing the ceiling.

Rather than sit, Sadness put her elbows on the table and rested her head on top of her arms. She had to stretch to do so. Stifling a yawn—it was getting late—she ventured, "Hi? Uh, Zelda, right?"

Library

After Lune and Zelda had made their request, Sans went off to find them said items of foods. Then Zelda said that she would be waiting inside the library, so Caro naturally decided to accompany her friend.

As she entered the library, more weirds thing happened, which was no surprise given how crazy this day was. When Miss Tairee summoned some books, some of them tried to fall on people's head. The librarian also did something really weird to Ben, reaching into his head and taking a glowing object before crushing it. Given the whole situation with the suspicion of the boy being possessed, it was likely that people had told Miss Tairee about and those books had to do with.

So it was with a sigh of reply that she finally walked over to the table where Zelda had taken a seat. She sat opposite the other girl, with Fried perching on the chair's top. " It seems that Miss Tairee already dealt with whatver was affecting Ben. Maybe later we should ask to see one of those books that she summoned for the others. They likely contain information on what exactly was affecting him and what caused. But in any case, I'm glad that this seems to be over. The only case that I have dealt with something that might be even remotely similar to that would still quite different. When it happened, the girl I was fighting was already an enemy beforehand and it was merely a case of a superior taking over and it was easily dealt with once said superior was defeated. I doubt that would have worked here, even if wecould find the person or thing responsible and defeat it."

Grimlock frowned when the triangle guy apparently decided to be some sort of necklace around his neck. He didn't like that he was doing this, but he wasn't doing anything bad right now, so he had no reason to grab and punch him. He did say he was sick of this day, so he couldn't blame him. However...

"Don't do anything bad to my friends and I won't," he said.

He still didn't like him, after he how he sounded when Koishi hit his head with a piece of paper. It was annoying, sure, but it wasn't as bad as being hit by oil pie...or getting stuck in rubber cement.

Then Hol Horse showed up, apparently he was upset that the king, Mickey Mouse, was killed. He just stared at him with some sadness. Plague Knight answered before he did, but he still answered anyway.

"Yeah," he said readying himself to follow Plague Knight to his current home.. "And what you saw was real. Miss Tairee said that some stuff that might be stories in some worlds are real in others, like that Mickey Mouse you're talking about."

"Alright *urp* alright, fine, w-whatever you name is, you made your point." Rick hefted his shotgun over his shoulder and watched Ben storm out of the store. "Don't."

"Geez, Morty, d-don't you *urp* start goin' on an on about being a, a, hero. I got enough on my plate." Rick turned and set off in a random direction, mumbling what sounded like calculations under his breath.

"What? I-I dunno, Rick, I mean, Ben... h-he sounds like he really knows what he's-"

"I don't care about Ben, okay, Morty? I got a whole de-*urp*-demonic invasion to plan for now. You think that's how I wanna spend my evening, here, Morty? Well, now I do, 'cause everybody else has stuck their heads right up their asses."

Morty- still queasy from the spinach overdose- didn't look quite so sure about this absolute statement. "I dunno, Rick, like, Pl-plague Knight, you know? I think he-"

"- he's not gonna be able to do jack shit, Morty. Wake up and smell that coffee, Morty. I gotta plan for some real deep shit now." With that, Rick stalked off towards his lab, shoving his hands in his coat pockets as he mumbled something about trying to find a priest.

Ben winced, looking in confusion at Miss Tairee as she rifled through his brain. It would probably be fairly dusty in there (considering he rarely used it), but he would never admit to that. Instead, his eyes widened as the dark energy that was in his brain was pulled out and destroyed. So he was possessed. Now awake, he blinked a couple of times.

"Whoa... I had that thing in my head?" he asked, before looking down at the page. He pointed to it dramatically. "That's him, that's Old Feather Beak! That slimeball! I think this old vulture needs his wings clipped! Who's with me?" He put his hands together, cracking his knuckles and looking around for other volunteers.

Tairee frantically typed something on her typewriter and seemed incredibly surprised after it made a ding!. She got near Ben and streched his ear, scrambled his brain, and took out a light from it. Whatever it was, she crushed it and assured everyone near that she knew exactly what they were dealing with.

Rex responded to the librarian's physics defying stunt by instinctively covering his ears.

"Wow! Good thing I'm not possessed. That thing's just nasty"

Tairee typed away more words and several books threw themselves from the upper floors of the building. One of them hit Rex on the head. It was something about Warhammer 40,000, the kind of books that had information about Marcus' world. So, they were related, huh? Why would there be so many people from the same universe? Mark, Cain, Jurgen, and now this bird. What plans did the writer have in store for them? And, most importantly, how could they foil them?

Tairee showed them a picture of a Lord Change and Ben recognized it as the bird dude they had seen in the factory. The demon specialized in trickery. Cole was right but not about having to kill the possessed. Better tell him the good news.

"Of course I'm in, Ben. Just let me tell Cole the good news"

Rex ran upstairs to tell Cole they could fight back agains the bird and that Ben and Twilight were in no danger of turning into killing machines.

"Hey ColWoah!" Cole was still sleeping but Sawyer was also there and she had dozed off watching him sleep. Rex knew interrupting that was a dick move so he simply left trying to not make any sound.

Walking downstairs, Rex heard Shiara complaining about not having a weapon.

"I don't think you would need one. I mean, you can shoot fire, right? You can toast his ass from long range and cover us. I think Aigis could also help you with that"

As soon as Sans walked away from the library, Lune quickly followed Caro and Zelda inside. Zelda was greeted by Sadness, and Lune just quietly looked around the peaceful library. Her eyes widened as Ms. Tairee had magically pulled out a dark orb of Ben’s brain. How the @#$% did she do that!?

Upon seeing that orb in Ms. Tairee’s hands, Caro was relieved that problem was nipped in the bud before it could fester into a major catastrophe. Caro wondered if they could get a book on Warhammer 40K after seeing the some of the encyclopedias fly out and hit Rex, Twilight, Shiara, and Aigis. Caro even recalled a story regarding a situation similar to the one Ben and Twilight had been in.

“Believe it or not,” whispered Lune to Caro. “I’ve faced the same problem like you. Have you heard about the Bartoll?”

After Ms. Tairee revealed the culprit behind his possession (a Lord of Change named Old Feather Beak), Ben announced that he’ll clip Old Feather Beak’s wings and asked if the others can join him. The witch said she would join him and complained about not having a weapon. Rex told her she could fight from a distance like the female robot (now known as Aigis).

“Sure, I’d love to join,” whispered Lune to Ben. “Just let me wait for Sans to get us a snack before we go.”

Aigis-Library

Aigis stood silent as the librarian removed....something from Ben's ear and crushed it. The cause of the possession, perhaps? Did that mean she was on their side? Aigis did not have a chance to ask before another book hit her in the head and opened to a page, presumably of the target. She quickly read the page, committing all information to her robotic memory.

"I am versatile." She said to Rex. "I can preform long range gunfire and support buffs from the back, as well as healing. Or, if you prefer, my body is quite durable, and can likely take hits that would rip normal humans in half, as well as provide close range defense and attacks with Athena's weapons. I am willing to fill both of those roles based on need and evolving battlefield conditions. All you need is to say the word." As she said this, Aigis, curious, started flipping through other pages in this book.

"What a horrible place!" She said after having flipped through several pages. "How can anything possibly survive in this universe this book describes?"

Library - Filled with Determination

Zelda might have started daydreaming had the actions of the group nearby suddenly not caught her attention. She raised an eyebrow when Miss Tairee somehow reached inside Ben's head and pulled out a strange glowing light of some kind. It took her a moment to draw the connection between that light and the 'evil presence' Caro had spoke of earlier, and from there she quickly realized what they were probably speaking of.

It was around that time that Sadness showed up. Zelda turned towards her before giving her a warm smile. "Hello again, Sadness. I hope you're feeling a little better than the last time we met?"

Then Caro rejoined her and stated more or less what Zelda had already put together about what the other people in the library were talking about. As she listened politely anyway, she started to feel a little strange. It wasn't like the feeling Ben or Twilight had that indicated the presence. This was a different feeling, like some kind of long-forgotten memory coming back to her. Something about all this talk was feeling...strangely familiar.

She couldn't put her finger on the exact reason. But it was giving her the intense desire to help. Furthermore, if there really was information about this presence around here, she had a way to help, to do more than just sit on the sidelines and watch. And she was going to help.

"Why wait until later?" she asked Caro, "Why not ask right now?" At that, she hopped out of her chair. "Excuse me for a moment."

She then approached the group already in a library. "Excuse me for charging in like this, but I couldn't help but overhear what you were talking about. I wish to offer my assistance." She then glanced at the books everyone else had. "While I won't be of much use should it come down to fighting, I imagine it's going to take more than fighting to bring this presence down. If you have a spare book on the matter you could lend me, I'll see if I can come up with something."

"Hello," Sadness said agreeably. "Um, not really, no." Honesty was the best policy.

Caro showed up—her age had changed too!—and Sadness shut up to let her speak. She wasn't entirely sure what was going on, but it seemed like something important and dangerous had happened while she was in the library all day. Whatever the case, something magical was going on with Ben. Maybe he really should have gotten some sleep.

Zelda left the table; some people were heading out yet again to go on some sort of mission. Now? It was late. Surely they were tired. Sadness was too sad to sleep, but she wasn't in any shape to go running around outside, and she had no idea how they were either.

Sadness sighed deeply. "I guess you don't know where Sans is?" she asked Caro rhetorically.
