I don't think that there's anything that can be done about the way Google's search bot spiders the articles. You could put a different image as the first one on the page.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Hm... understood. Maybe I'll rearrange it so that the Beatrices come first. At least those are less obvious to people who've only read a few arcs.
OK, new question: how long does it take Google to update its preview images? I'm trying to test whether my change worked.
I don't know. I'd give it at least 24 hours.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Thanks!
OK, I've given it well more than 24 hours, and it still hasn't changed. Is there anything else I can do to fix this?
You can't do anything, I believe. The Google rankings are controlled by the Google software that we don't have any control on.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanEven to get the image to go away? The ranking doesn't bother me so much, but the image is such a huge spoiler.
No no no, the reason you "can't do anything" (directly) is because TVT doesn't control what the search results are, Google does. Fighteer's advice was about doing things to affect the results indirectly, like making a different image appear first on that page so searches don't show that one.
Septimus Heap mentioned the "Google ranking" as shorthand for "everything about Google search results", including the spoilery image.

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Google is an unintendional spoiler bot, there is nothing you can do about it, not even spoiler text can be hidden vs the all seeing Eye of Sauron.
- sigh* Oh well, then... Thanks for your help, everyone.
Umineko No Naku Koro Ni's character page is split into many, many parts, due to Loads And Loads Of Characters. One of the pages is Umineko No Naku Koro Ni Spoilers. The problem is that if you search Umineko using the search bar, it comes up within the top five results using a preview image that basically spoils the biggest mystery of the series. I was wondering if there's a way to convince the search to suppress the image or substitute another instead.
