Yeah, Ben has a new friend in his age-group if Negi gets accepted. Though they'll be as different as Heaven and Earth considering Negi's a child prodigy that graduated from university and has a teaching degree. He also likes to wear little felt suits custom-made for ten year old boys.

welp, here goes nothing

Hope I can RP her well and not disappoint anyone that played the game. If I do, you all have the right to bash me down tongue

Story: The Witch's House, right after the True End

Name: Viola(Ellen)

Age, gender and species: 13(at least a few centuries), Female, Human Ex-Witch

Appearance: "Your best friend"

Personality: A kind and caring girl that simply wants to wish for your well-being. Though she really does mean well, she can be a bit over-trusting and naive at times... is what 'Viola' is. Ellen, on the other hand, is a scheming manipulator, doing whatever she can to fulfill her goals of finally being cured of her disease and, in her own words, 'be loved'. What started out as a simple girl's desperate longing for human affection transformed her into the sort of person she is now, seeing other humans and her 'friends' as simply just another stepping stone for her to achieve her desire. Now that she actually achieved her goals, she'll probably enjoy her newfound freedom and try to seek out a fresh start with her new life. Who knows? Maybe this time, she can finally be loved now that she's no longer a pathetic mess that was her former self... if she could keep her past and old habits in check.

Backstory: Viola is the single daughter of a lone hunter, with her mother having passed away a long time ago. Her story started out with her suddenly finding herself deep within the forest, trying to escape from a witch whom she thought was her best friend. After navigating through the witch's house and escaping safely into the forest, she reunited with her beloved father who was just in time too, with the witch crawling right after her. After putting the witch out of her misery with his rifle, the two walked away, their bonds now closer than ever due to recent events. This is the official story that she would use when the need arises. To be fair, that is a mostly accurate account, all things considered.

As for her real backstory, she started out as the only sickly daughter of a poor couple, living in the slums. As a young child who could no longer went outside due to her grave disease, the only thing that kept her moving on is her parent's care; and even then, she can see that it's beginning to wear them out, with the cost of her medicine and trying to tend to her care. Gradually, she felt less and less loved by her parents until finally her mother, the one that she's been clinging onto all her life, decided to abandon her and her father on the dead of night. Something broke within Ellen and, being unable to accept that, she killed her. And her father soon after. After accidentally letting her former house being burnt out in flames, she fled in the back alley. It was from then on that she met with a certain black cat...

Ever since then, she accepted the offer of being a Witch from the demon that's posing as the cat. To seal the deal, she was given a house, where it tended to her every need, filled with books and unnatural servants tending to her every need, and a healthy body so long as she stays there. At first, she was content. Then, she began to seek out companionship and to go outside. That's when things went wrong and the utter reality that she was simply just another prisoner began to hit in. While her body is perfectly maintained by magic, her disease is progressing and with no medicine, it grows worse as demonstrated when she took a single step outside. From then on, she began luring the people within the forest to her house, to continuously sacrifice and feed them to the demon, on the promise that he'll give her a spell to permanently cure her disease and earn her freedom. Centuries later, as she's beginning to lose hope and her body's getting weaker, the promise was fulfilled and what luck, another girl had stumbled upon her forest...

Playing the girl right into her hand, she finally got her wish fulfilled… but not without leaving behind a 'parting gift' for the one that made it possible(plucking out the eyes, cutting off her own legs and self-mutilation just before exchanging the bodies, to name a few). She was about to get out, before the one within the Witch's body used up the last of her powers in her dying breath to trap her. Within her own house, no less. The rest, is continued in her retelling above, where Ellen wins and lives on in Viola's body.

Skills/powers/abilities: As a normal human girl, she has no notable special qualities or supernatural abilities to speak of. She used to possess magical powers as a Witch, but that was all gone up in flames when she switched her frail, weak and diseased body to another healthier one. What's listed here other than the first one would be what she was capable of before and is something that she could no longer do.(Unless she found a way to become a Witch again, preferably not with the same demon she once served and no strings attached~)

  • Manipulator: Capable of tricking an innocent young girl into genuinely becoming her best friend, only to use and betray her in the cruelest way possible and getting away with it. Also have experiences in tricking other people to be sacrificed within her house during her years as a Witch.

  • The Witch's House: Where the most of her magic stems from. It says house, but it really encompasses that and the forest around it, which is quite a huge area. It also seems to have a will of its own, instinctively protecting its master from harm, attending to her every need and its atmosphere change based upon the mood and well-being of its owner. While within the house, she can't be killed(so long as she doesn't fall to despair or drink a certain cough medicine). She could also change every aspects of the house using only her will and sense anything that encroaches within her territory, which she utilized to full potential while gathering up the sacrifices for the demon.

  • Body-Switch: The spell that she worked so hard to gain, one that could permanently end her deadly disease. Using this spell, Ellen could switch bodies with another, complete with the other body's memories and past live experiences intact. The downsides? She'll lose all the powers that her previous body had(how she ended up losing her status as a 'Witch' and her magic). Not only that, she will also need the complete trust and consent of the ones on the receiving end to even use this spell as well.

Items: Her 'father's' letters. It was something that she recently held, after all. Her knife as well, since it acted as a sort of memento to her. The same knife that she used to kill both her parents, her first sacrifice to the demon.

Other: Truly, she just wanted to be loved and be friends with everyone. You believe her, right?

@Katarsus: Oh right, and I forgot an addendum I was going to put in my last post. That all I mentioned is even assuming Ara has enough energy to even do the revive in the first place. If she got taken down near the end of a fight which she already spent a lot of energy in, she'd probably just stay down and not revive. (Well, not under her own power and not right on the spot, that is.)

Anyway, I've been thinking it over since last night and I think the only other change I'd request is that Ara still has to be mostly intact in order for the revive to work. So being reduced to Ludicrous Gibs would kill her for sure even if she had full energy. Regardless, I actually meant to do this last night but got distracted with a movie on Netflix.

Ara Haan (Yama Raja) and Eun are accepted.

As with the others potentially switching, I won't change the active character list until you actually do so, if you do.

@Makaioh: So I actually do know Negima... Somewhat. I know the premise and saw the first few episodes of one of the animes that got made from it. My former friend, the one who turned into an asshole after becoming a brony, was really into Negima a few years ago and showed me some of it. But I never got that far into it myself.

I think one of my other friends also got into it, at least for a while. He's not available right now, so I'll get back to your signup after I can get in touch with him, and check what I can in the meantime in case I'm mistaken and he didn't.

@Just Some Guy 732: Oh boy. And just like Katarsus playing Mary, I know of Viola pretty well, though just like Ib I only know from watching a Markiplier playthrough, as I didn't play The Witch's House myself.

Now, I'm not sure why you mentioned her house, since she wouldn't be bringing that with her. I don't recall the stuff with the demon, because I don't think Markiplier ever found the secrets to show that stuff, but I did some quick checking of the character page and confirmed that what you've said here does indeed seem to be accurate.

Viola (Ellen) is accepted.

Now, I'm hopefully going to actually start the next in-game day sometime later tonight, so I'd ask that you hold off on jumping in until then. In the meantime, you should read the first post of the main thread to get an idea of what Viola's arrival to the city should be like. You should also check out the first post of the discussion thread to see helpful materials and links, such as a description of what the city is normally like.

@Makaioh: So quick post while I'm doing that checking of the Negima stuff. Still can't give any final verdict yet, but I can say a couple things.

First, isn't Albert specifically from the animes while Negi's pseudo-elemental transformation thing is specifically from the manga series? You remember that combining different versions of the character is a no-go, right? This has to be Negi and Albert from specifically the manga series of from specifically one of the anime series; not a mixture of both.

Second, I don't think there's any way I'm going to accept the pactio thing. That's just a straight up nightmare to figure out how that would work and interact with all the possible characters in the cast it could be used with.

Albert Chamomile was actually manga first and then anime later. It's just that the anime made him look more cutesy and different. And the fact that the anime went off the rails in the worst possible way so I'm sticking with the manga universe solely.

As for the Pactio, I can see all the complications that could bring and the shenanigans that might happen. Could the general all purpose physical buff plus telepathy be kept and the artifacts not work if that's what you're worried about? There's also a precedence in the Negimaverse where people didn't manage to get their special magical doohickeys.

The artifacts is the primary concern, but if I understand how it works correctly than even the physical buff could be a serious problem. Isn't the scale of the buff relative to how strong the person already was? IE someone who's stronger gets an even stronger buff than someone who's weaker?

Because in that scenario, if Negi were to make a pact with someone like Tick or Dante, he'll basically make that character completely unstoppable. Even if it isn't relative that's still taking characters already ludicrously strong and making them even stronger with basically no catch.

I'd much prefer to just say that the pactios don't work on people who aren't from Negi's universe, like we've been doing for some other certain character abilities.

That brings up an interesting point, Firock, how would Tali's hacking translate to this new universe and it's computers? Is ME tech-level sufficiently high enough to be able to subjugate the systems here in the city reasonably easily? or are they too different, and Tali basically has to figure it out from the ground up?

That's pretty spoilertastic, bro.

EDIT @Makaioh: Alright, I got in contact with my friend. I was right, he was big into Negima, though apparently that was years ago so he admits that he doesn't remember every little detail. He said everything seems accurate enough.

Now, we already talked about the Pactio so that just leaves... Negi's spells. There's so many in that link that I'm not even sure I'm okay with responding only to the ones that require responding. Based on what I've read in it so far, it seems like he should just have a mass blanket nerf to... Everything.

The principle idea of how his magic works and even the elemental forms is fine by me, but the actual outcome needs to be dialed way back in just about every single field of magic he uses. As is, it seems like he outclasses literally every other player character by a mile; possibly even all the other player characters put together.

I'm perfectly okay with nerfing him down that much since he is a bit ridiculously stronk as stated previously. I was thinking he knows everything but all the ridiculous output gets toned down to around the time when he was still not a one man army. Any area of effect spell is thirty feet in diameter maximum, big spells don't nearly output as much as he needs and drains him far more, regeneration gets Dante level nerfing, incanting time has no shortenings, no high speed movement to the point people can't outright react to him, and no intangibility in his elemental form being the main ones I can think of right now. Feel free to tack anything that I missed onto the boy. XD

I've decided to switch my guy. Sorry. Same game though. There are spoilers here.

  • Story: Fallout 4

  • Name: Nick Valentine

  • Age, gender, and species: Over 100 years old physically, Male, Synth.

  • Appearance: Here

  • Personality:

    • Nick Valentine's gruesome visage betrays his personality: Nick is a warm, genial machine that inhabited a world populated by many cold and vicious humans. An officer of the law in his past life, Nick stands for good morals and justice no matter what situation he is in, and will go out of his way to help those in need. Nick also keeps a good sense of humor and a sharp wit with him, and takes special care to look the part of a hard-boiled detective. But underneath his rubber skin, Nick holds deep doubts in his identity, as he is aware that he is a clone of a man who died ages ago, and he has never let the memories of his fiance or his arch-enemy from the pre-war days go away.

  • Back story:

    • Nick Valentine was an officer of the Boston Police Department in the days before his world was destroyed by nuclear war. He was set to be engaged with a woman named Jennifer Lands. Before the bombs hit, Nick was the lead detective in an investigation against the criminal boss Eddie Winter, codenamed "Operation Winter's End". Unfortunately, the investigation failed and Jennifer Lands was murdered, presumably under Eddie Winter's orders. Distraught, Nick Valentine went to the C.I.T. for therapy through the use of brainwave scanning.

    • Around two centuries later, Nick woke up woke up in a pile of trash out somewhere in the wastes. As it turns out, the C.I.T. survived the Great War, becoming the shadowy Institute, and had uploaded Nick's brainwaves into an android body, or a "Synth". Nick had been reborn as a sentient machine, but was rejected by his "creators".

    • The Synths and The Institute were despised in The Commonwealth after multiple violent incidents, and as a Synth himself, Nick Valentine was not trusted. Nick settled in Diamond City, where he initially did jobs that no human was willing to do. Nick became famous for saving the mayor's daughter from a gang of kidnappers some time after he moved into Diamond City, and more and more people went to him for help.

    • Eventually, Nick Valentine started the Valentine Detective Agency, helping out anyone who could not be assisted by the largely corrupt Diamond City Security. By the year 2287, he received a lot of business from a lot of clients. At least until he was taken out of one big city and into another.

  • Skills/powers/abilities: Nick Valentine is a gifted individual with many skills.

    • Memories: Nick Valentine was created with the memories of a pre-war detective. As such, he retains pre-war knowledge of police procedure and training.

    • Synth Body: Nick Valentine is a Synth, his body created by The Institute to further their shadowy research. Nick Valentine's mechanical body means he doesn't have to eat, sleep, or worry about the dangers of radiation, and he has greater control over his body and greater physical resistance than the average human. Otherwise, Nick is an almost perfect replica of a human, capable of actions such as swimming, feeling pain, and smoking cigarettes.

    • Hacking: Nick Valentine has a mind for numbers, and is capable of hacking into RobCo terminals. He might also have a hand for cracking other computers with GM discretion.

  • Items:

    • Pipe Revolver: Nick owns a handmade revolver made from rusty steel as his personal weapon, chambered for .45 rounds.

    • Two packs of Grey Tortoise cigarettes: Because even androids can't kick the habit.

  • Other: I'm taking Nick from before the events of Unlikely Valentine.
