Probably not Ein.

What's precedent ever done for us?Carta gives off some fairly strong ZZ vibes, though, like most things on this show, there's some depth there
Good fight with some decent tactics
Eugene is probably still alive
Rouei looks like a Knightmare
So my prediction that Lafter and Azee would be the Turbines characters to stick around was correct, just several episodes later than I'd thought
Ein appears to have died, but last episode was setting him up to become whatever this timeline's cyber-newtype equivalent is...
Mika's version of the re-entry fight is suitably hardcore

On this week's episode!
It was nice that the handshaking scene from the early episodes happened again... But with a better result. (But Kudelia's comment of Mika's hands kind of sounded like a Accidental Innuendo to me.)
Damn, poor Ein. But i think death was a better way than dedicating most of his life to revenge.
And the battle was really awesome. And that armor that the Barbatos was using kind of reminds me of the Nu Gundam HWS.
"Death's vastness holds no peace. I come at the end of the long road—neither human, nor devil... All bends to my will." -Demifiend.That conversation between Commander Carta and Gaelio seems to imply...that the former has unrequited feelings for McGillis? (Which is later confirmed in Gaelio's flashback.)
She's pretty tsun-tsun about it, too. Not to mention her entire security detail seems to be full of blonde guys.
And she seems to be older than Gaelio, so...Christmas Cake?
"Learn as if you will live forever, live as if you will die tomorrow."Do we know for sure that Ein is dead? Gaelio grabbed his escape pod. That being said, I expect Ein to die from his wounds next episode, but in a more somber manner than being skewered by Mika.
I'm not really sure what to make of Carta.
Child!Macky was creepy looking.
The atmospheric battle was intense.
I like the Roueis.
Mika's method of surviving reentry was great.
Macky's really not screwing around here, what with actually fighting against Gjallarhorn in a battle that Gaelio was participating in. The Grimgerde looks great.
So! I think Mika's reentry on top of a whole bunch of other facets of this show might make this the most baller Gundam to date.
Should've checked the list.Did Mika just go Jason Bourne on the Earth's atmosphere?
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheySeriously this is a good Gundam! How many years has it been where we've had just a good actual Gundam series?
The Mobile Suits are clever in design and help distinguish what makes a Gundam a Gundam without it being OP.
The lack of beam weapons is great!
Cybernetics instead of Newtype stuff makes for a unique twist!
And this latest episode was just outright awesome!
Carta's interests are blatant, especially when you consider what her subordinates all look like. More good combat, but I'm interested in seeing more mech fights on the ground now. Ein got it bad, but without an explicit death he'll probably make it. Mika really is adaptable.
Ah, the Gundam reentry battle: killing off overly aggressive mooks since '79. Mikazuki's reentry is spectacular, but I still prefer Amuro surfing White Base in The Origin. Here's hoping Tekkadan can get used to everything weighing nearly three times as much as it did on Mars, though I suppose ships and colonies might keep things at 1G so they wouldn't have too much trouble.
I wonder if Macky (I think I'll keep using this name since it doesn't generate accidental links) is actually an illegitimate son brought into the family because his father never managed to have other children or something like that. It'd explain why he says Montag is his real name and how he looks when Gaelio first meets him, maybe even some of how he views Gjallarhorn. Damn... here's hoping he doesn't turn out like Rau le Creuset.
I wonder if Carta isn't just a bit angry that she lost to a child in the race for Macky.
Best. Episode. Ever.
I'm so sad for Ein, but if he dies, I'm foreseeing a motion by Gali Gali that all members of Gjallarhorn are to be equals, no matter their origins.
Red Char fighting alongside the protagonist is a good change of pace from the rest of the franchise. Also, were those beam sabers?
Finally, Mika bodysurfing another mobile suit into the atmosphere. Dare I say that it was... metal?

i. hear. a. sound. Why did Atra come along with them?
Her harem needs supervision.
What's precedent ever done for us?Another excellent episode. The melodrama about Mika's reentry was a bit much (did anyone really think he wouldn't make it?) but at the same time did a good job of showing off how much the characters mean to each other. I also liked how Random Nameless Mook actually gave Mika more of a fight than Gaelio did.
I'm not convinced that Ein or Eugene are actually dead. Ein is less likely to recover than Eugene, but I won't be convinced he's dead until we actually see a corpse. Actually, I'd sort of like to see Ein get a Career-Ending Injury. IBO certainly hasn't pulled any punches on other issues; why not show that there are outcomes besides "winning the day and getting off scott free" and "dying gloriously in honorable battle"?
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien.I don't believe Eugene is dead either. I think the massive nosebleed was just to undermine his dignity. I mean it's Eugene, dying dramatically like is far to cool a fate for him.
Doing something cool and then passing out in a really undignified way is more his speed.
Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Why kill him off when others have been seen going through the same stuff without a scratch? Figuratively speaking, of course.
Suck it, troper! Not too mention Eugene's name was yelled out by those two guys in a rather humorous tone.
Wait, did people actually think he died there?
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyHonestly, best moment of the episode had to be when Eugene jacked into both ships to control them. He just put every Rigger out there to shame.

"Hipsters: the most dangerous gang in the US." - Pacific MackerelWell, yeah, that was pretty awesome, but I lost it when I saw the Barbatos just surf into Earth's atmosphere, because who would honestly expect something like that?
Suck it, troper! This is officially one of the best Gundam shows I have ever seen!
Speaking of wich... I heard IBO got a manga adaptation back in october. I know its obviously japan-only but i wonder if it has some major changes to the story.

Your big hands will surely grab something important.
