Making a separate thread for this issue, so that it isn't buried in a completely different topic:

I have a third issue: could the red dots stay red until you click the links on the item, and not just when you load the watchlist page? I'm sick of having to look at all the pages in one chunk, since closing the browser or tab before that means I lose track of what I have to read.

I've wanted this for ages. The lack of last-read information on a per-article basis makes keeping up with the watchlist incredibly difficult.
