Heteronormativity and Not Like Other Girls for starters. Lack of female relationships is a glaring problem in YA.
And of course, there is the obvious one: the Love Triangle. There have been many articles on this subject, I recommend starting with this podcast, and going from there to see what you can satirize about the subject.

I'm writing a collection of short stories with the purpose of parodying/playing-with the themes centered around Young Adult romance books. Does anyone have any reccomdentations for common tropes that choke the novelty out of YA? I'm thinking of things that are around Stephenia Meyers, John Green, or even Anna Todd to an extent.
