Even if 1% of the population is asexual, that's still 72 million people.
Good point. The Earth has a lot of people in it.
I'm an aero/ace person. I'm all here for this. I'm positive about sex though, because I recognize that it is a thing that other people hold dearly and I want to see other people be happy. That's why I get so excited for people I know who are together, or why I read fanfiction.
Hi everyone, I have returned from my hiatus.
Ya, I'm weird like that...TROPERRRRR -hugs-
Caaaaiiiill! -hugs back-
I can't tell you how I missed all you guys and girls!
Ya, I'm weird like that...Hi again Troper.
Hi phantom1! I'm trying to not seem so icy and detached as I was before.
Ya, I'm weird like that...You came across that way before?
Ya, at least that's how I saw myself. I seemed so robotic before, like my posts were formal or something.
Ya, I'm weird like that...Well, I'm going to try and get back into contact with that Steam friend, instead of just awkwardly refusing to interact with him. Whether we actually remain friends remains to be seen.
Hard to explain and to express, forever just a work in progress (he/they)Oh okay well whatever you think works for you
Were you reffering to my post? Or their post?
Ya, I'm weird like that...Your one.
Ah ok, I got a little confused. Thank you, it's just that my posts always looked cold and detached on here, and I feel that that didn't go over too well with people on here. Considering that a few times my posts have been seen as "sarcastic" or "mildly aggressive" even though that was not my intention. Even using "" made people think I was doing that mockingly.
Any asexuals on here indifferent to romance plots? (though technically speaking I'm not asexual in the usual sense) I don't care for mushy-gushy love stories, I'm usually indifferent to them unless they are shoe-horned into one of my interests. This happened in Halo, for example.
Ya, I'm weird like that...I'm indifferent to them, but I'm aro not ace.
Phew, I thought I was the only one. Everyone sees me as weird because I don't like romance.
Ya, I'm weird like that...I don't tend to like watching movies that are big on romance, and I dislike romantic subplots, especially if they seem unnecessary. However, I do enjoy reading some shipping fanfics.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Yeah, I'm pretty okay with a lot of shipping fics though I prefer gen. Oh I also like Welcome To Nightvale which has a lot of romance. I think it might be more commonly an aro thing (dislike of romance) than an ace thing, but that doesn't mean you can't be ace and indifferent and of course a lot of people are both.
I don't care for shipping myself, I just never saw the point, even outside its romantic connotations.
I agree with you phantom, it can be both an aro and ace thing.
Ya, I'm weird like that...I don't actually care that much about shipping, either, even if I do read shipping fanfics (slashfic, mostly). The only times I ever care about who ends up with who is when I'm actively anti-shipping something. A lot of the time, it feels like fandom is so fixated on shipping, it's a little annoying. Like, I see so many well-thought out headcanons and metas about character's romantic relationships, and I'm just like... "I really don't care." I wish I saw more things about character's friendships, but those aren't as interesting to people, I guess.
Trust you? The only person I can trust is myself.Ya I would like to read more friendship based fanon than romance based.
Ya, I'm weird like that...Yeah it's sad all the energy goes into romance stuff I can't really relate to.
Indeed.
Ya, I'm weird like that...
Yes you just have to say you aren't settling down, for whatever reason.
