Paradise Island—-Baths—Smart girl is smart.

“You’re very clever. I hadn’t considered that. ” Lyla said to Davinci with half a smile. “These baths are connected to the river. It crosses the whole island until it meets the sea.”

Then came the boring but necessary exposition.

“The patrols get more random and broad, the farther you go from the city,” Penelope added putting her hands on her waist. “ The beach and the city are heavily guarded, but a good chunk of the jungle and those areas filled with monsters only get air patrols now and then.”

One of the Amazons that had wanted to be painted by Lisa said, “Now that you mention it When Persephone was in charge of the prisoners. I saw Persephone talking with that witch, Circe, for far too long, back when we negotiated with her. I saw that grin in that wicked with face of hers. —“ Now that I think about it, Alexa too has always complained about us being not being open enough to the outside world.”

Penelope then added, “Aleka, was complaining the other day, she couldn’t stop talking about how our queen’s grasp was to controlling, and that we needed more freedom.” She scratched her head.“

Lyla then, added “I don’t like to speak ill of my sisters, but... Aresia, she always says our queen is too soft with men and that a total cleaning of all me-”

Cassie would close her fist and scream “Guys stop! ... It feels wrong to point fingers at each other. I’m ashamed of all of you. We’re supposed to be sisters.” Cassie said. “This is what they want, to divide us. We’re sisters; we’re supposed to trust each other. What image are we giving of ourselves to the world and to Lisa?”

Wonder girl looked at Lisa with her arms crossed.” I’m sorry you got involved in this. I know you just wanted to relax, ” Wondergirl told Lisa as she looked at the floor in sadness. She sighed while giving a smile to Davinci. “ I wouldn’t blame if you wanted to do else... or never come back. ” She looked at the floor in shame, as she said those words.

Wonder Woman—Sakura Dungeon—Practical advice

After seeing Yang’s reaction, or rather her lack of it, made Wonder Woman raise an eyebrow. “I see you wanted more of a tactical advice. I started with hope, as once that’s lost you can be sure the battle is already lost. “

She crossed her arms. “How did I manage to kill a god? I used their own power against them. Gods are weak against divinity that is at their level. That’s how the gods managed to banish the Titans in my world.”

“As for the god that is plaguing us. I’ve already noticed some of his weaknesses. For one he isn’t creative with his power , why else would he need to bring words if he could create them? Two, he needs us more than we need him. Why would he do this otherwise? He is lonely. Perhaps he could destroy us all with a blink, but he would be miserable again. Power in solitude is meaningless.”

She sighed deeply. “When the time comes, I hope we might fight side by side, Yang.”

Then when Yang explained the concept of girlfriend, she chuckled.

“Oh you mean like how you and Yomi,” Wonder Woman said to her host. “Artemis and I go way back, she has been my replacement before, and she would be in my place if I hadn’t beaten her. —She glanced at the sky—Perhaps one day I might find love again.”

To Rose, she said, “The power of sorcery is powerful. But hardly reliable. Magic is fickle, but your skills will never abandon you —-Diana Gave a warm smile to Rose —-I fear I might be losing my touch with people like Bruce does sometimes. What can you tell me about yourself Rose? Where do you come from?”

Artemis—Sakura Dungeon— Swords my only weakness!

“You’re not even dizzy,” Artemis cracked her neck, after. “You’re tougher than you look. ” She touched her hand. “I didn’t even feel your skin. It was as if I was touching some kind of wall,” the amazons said in the time the Faunus used to recover.

Blake would see how scars were formed, in her arms. She kept panting heavily only managing to look at the Faunus with a frown.

After the Faunus attempted her attack. Artemis was forced to use her bracelets to shield herself from some of-of the swings. However, Blake’s attacks were deflected too late and they did manage to create several scars in her left arm. She pressed her eyes to hide the pain she felt from the Faunus.

With the earlier slash and those swings, her strength was beginning to fade. Although she attempted to hide it her pain with a frown, her heavy panting and the blood coming from the earlier slash would be an obvious give away.

Nevertheless, Artemis still gathered the strength to attempt to do one risky move.

As she blocked the path of one Blake’s attacks with her bracelet, with her other hand, the Amazon attempted to thrust her swords forward at Blake’s stomach, hoping that her sword would damage Blake, or perhaps, jam the path of her weapons. Like a gear being blocked by a screw.

Lady Bat in Manhattan

Aside from whatever buildings and natural locations she would have otherwise found in her path, the Lady Bat would not find much of particular note for the time being as she wandered Manhattan’s streets.

Maggie Reed - Sakura Village

It was probably a second too late when Maggie noticed the brawl going on nearby. While she attempted to sprint away, her cloak hindered her escape, and she tumbled onto the ground when Vesta landed into her.

“Ow!”

When she eventually began to recover, Maggie tried pushing herself back up, her hood knocked down, as she rubbed wherever the dragon’s body had hit her.

Why were they fighting? Even though she had seen her fair share of it after becoming a mutant, it wasn’t something people often did in broad daylight.

Seeing as this was likely none of her business, Maggie, once she was recovered, tried her best to step away.

David Xanatos - Common Room

Your associates must be quite a handful, Xanatos thought to himself, now that Anna had confirmed that some of the others were in fact affiliated with her. To both be deemed of sufficient “importance” for The Cure to let them wander through these halls and involve children, whatever place this group must have come from could not have been pretty.

“It’s certainly got its perks,” Xanatos replied, “and I’ve got the best view in the entire city. Things can get exciting at times but I wouldn’t live without it.”

He could have gone on about his own lifestyle habits - minus his attempts to develop his own gargoyle army - but that would be far too self-indulgent. Neither was there any need to mention his family, though he would mention it if she decided to visit the Eyrie building. He could have gone on about his more humble upbringing in Maine, but that likely would have brought upon more questions than he would have liked.

He briefly took note of the Seeds, and Joseph’s request for a home. Xanatos considered offering a hand himself, though the Titans were quick with their offer. Seeing as the Titans were one of those chunkless groups, and seeing as they had their own room, it seemed strange that the Seeds were looking for a place to stay when they had a room of their own. Was that also the case with Anna and her group?

At the same time, the Seeds might not have had the supply of pizza the Titans did.

“Now what sort of place does your pack of associates come from?” Xanatos asked Anna, gesturing his arm out towards the others. With the party in the room, it was hard to tell if any of the others were asking the same question. Whether it was Genosha or some other land, he would soon find out, though he would understand if that was something of a sore subject.

Elisa Maza & Matt Bluestone - Near Intrepid

Matt blinked as Ozen gave her explanation, while Elisa accidentally muttered out, “90 years.”

Quite a long time to be treasure hunting, even longer than the time the Gargoyles had been awake as far as she knew (Demona excepted).

“A red demon, huh,” said Elisa, bringing her finger to her chin. “Don’t think I’ve heard anything about that since the change in scenery.”

Elisa had her share in taking down powerful beings, though usually it was Goliath who did most of the work. Maybe she’d tell the Gargoyles about this once her shift and watch duties were over, but there wasn’t much point in asking them to join a fight they didn’t need to get involved with.

“You think you could tell us more about this ‘demon?’”

Did Xanatos know about this? Elisa didn’t have much reason to think Ozen was lying about this.

Gargoyle Trio - Cjeste Pyramid

All three of the Gargoyles seemed to run when Helena mentioned the Medjeds shot beams out of their eyes, which reminded them of the weapons Xanatos employed, and that which had been installed into Coldstone.

Lexington and Broadway turned back towards Hiriko and Helena and waved at them, though Brooklyn seemed uneasy.

Theo-what?” Broadway asked when Hiriko said that word.

When Hiriko mentioned the potential applications for the Medjeds, Brooklyn glanced over to them and added, “Maybe a little too practical. Wouldn’t want them falling into the wrong hands.

Broadway crossed his arms and nodded, knowing all too well of the destruction and death such power could bring.

Brooklyn glanced between the others, “The tour was nice and all, but I think we should get going. If this Anubis is anything like the one from where we’re from, he can’t be good news.

But this pyramid isn’t dedicated to Anubis.

Yeah, but I think we’ve done enough sightseeing in this place. Goliath and the others must be wondering why we haven’t reported back by now.

Well, we are supposed to be exploring the lands around us.

Say,” Broadway said to Hiriko, “where is this Sakura Dungeon place you mentioned?

Himaruya’s

By the time Madoka realized what C.C. was doing by telling her to stay by the police officer’s side and wait for help to arrive, the latter had already stalked off out of her sight. “Oh no…” She hurried scrolled through her contacts and began typing a text, keeping one eye out for anyone else that might be coming.

All that sneaking, all that trying her darndest to emulate the transfer student - it all got tossed when Sayaka turned back to see C.C. at the entrance to the alley. She froze for a moment trying to come up with a response of “Uh...sorrymaybelatergottago!”, rushing into the portal before C.C. could try to stop her and leaving only the strange white creature on the dumpster to address her as he wished. Kyubey, being on the other side of the alley from the mystical portal to God-knows-where, got up onto his little feet and began trotting after Sayaka towards the portal, his face continuing to look at the intruder en route as if wondering whether the intruder would turn around now or look into this very unusual situation.

K-Park

Mami thought for a few moments, a small smile forming on her lips eventually. “I suppose you can say that. Though if I’m honest...it would have to be Kaname-san. Without her, I’m not sure the other four of us would have come together in time to defeat Walpurgisnacht. It is difficult, normally, for Magical Girls to cooperate in fighting Witches - the Grief Seeds they leave behind are what allow us to continue using magic. Add on top of that the fact that many Girls end up dying trying to fight them…”

Kyubey turned his head to look at the sullen-once-more Mami from his perch on the fence. <It varies between Magical Girls, but it is indeed a very dangerous job. It's why I make a contract and grant wishes in exchange, and only offer to those whom I think can do well. Like Madoka Kaname.>

The mention of Madoka seemed to snap Mami out of her mini-funk. “Yes. But Akemi-san has been absolutely insistent that she not do so. Even so, Kaname-san has been a blessing, I would say - I would not have met Miki-san without her, and it was she who wanted us to smooth out our...differences with Akemi-san and Sakura-san.”

<She does seem to have quite an ability to bring people together, even those as disparate as four different Magical Girls.>

“Mm-hmm.” Mami’s phone buzzed at that moment and she looked down to see who it was from. “Huh, speak of the devil.” The smile faded and was replaced with a frown as she read the message. “There's an emergency: Kaname-san and Miki-san have apparently found a Witch at Himaruya’s, one that’s caused a fire.” As if on cue, the faint blares of fire engines echoed into their ears.

<I assume you are going there then, Mami Tomoe?>

“It's our duty as Magical Girls to stop them from causing trouble, isn't it?” Mami looked back at her guest. “I'm sorry about this, Kirijou-san. But if this Witch is to be defeated before the firemen arrive, we must hurry."

B.B. Hood, Common Room

Once she returned to the Common Room, B.B. Hood took one of the chairs at the table and sat down eyeing the room more as she stole more pizza from the pizza party. She did glare at Demitri and Jedah a bit, but both ignored her since no one could fight in the Common Room. Between Jaune's group and the flying tanned bimbo, she was sick of hearing about friendship. At least, B.B. Hood got a good haul and promote her services as a Darkhunter with recommendations from other hunters on this accursed planet. Business is business, after all, and if she wanted to have a little fun, she could find her way into the Underground.

Morrigan, Sakura Dungeon Gardens

"Maybe later on both offers," Morrigan began and before the Nine Tails could protest, she clarified. "I have a sister who is also in this land."

"Although I would enjoy seeing how different my own kind are in your land," Morrigan added, smiling at the Nine Tails.

Lilith, Sakura Dungeon Shop

"...So what you're saying is that I should be my own person rather than a pale imitation of Morrigan?" Lilith asked as if trying to confirm that was what Circe was saying before returning her focus back to the jewelry and then returned to smiling at Circe. "Hey, wanna use your magic on the necklaces?"

Felicia & Talbain, Ikebukuro Portal

Both Felicia and Talbain followed Yuuhei to the absurdly fancy-looking white car. The catwoman frowned slightly at the comment about people liking cats, "Yeah..."

Felicia was surprised when Dokusonmaru leaped onto her large beautiful mane of hair, and then chuckled, her own cat ears twitching with the cat's own shifting and purring.

"I guess you could say I'm a cat person," Felicia smirked a catlike smile at the pun she had achieved. She didn't seem to mind having the cat in her mane. Heck, Felicia could transform into a cat at will so she knew exactly what it was like to be a simple cat.

Jon Talbain remained silent, but seemed just the slightest bit happier seeing Felicia interact with Dokusonmaru.

Mono - Paradise Island

Mono was surprised to find the lady from Chaldea, Tomoe, coming up to try and comfort him as well; Giving her a surprised look as she did so. As the pegasus moved closer, though, the androgyne's attention quickly shifted back towards it instead. The closer it moved the more he tensed, his eyes going wide as he shook slightly and lifted himself up onto his toes. Yet he didn't move away. When it touched him, he let out a small gasp and seemed ready to do just that. At least, until he froze and lifted a shaking hand to touch its head. Slowly the fear gave way to shock and curiosity. "It's soft! And warm..."

Mono gave the queen a confused look when she put forward her question, still a little tense and wary of the massive beast pressing against him. He made sure to at least keep one eye on it even as he look in her direction. "Uh... n-no? I just... didn't know animals could get this big... I've never seen one before except in books."

Then he glanced between Hippolyta and Alexa, still confused but for a different reason this time. "What mission?"

Oracle et al, Batcave

Oracle pressed her button on the intercom to the holding cell, glad that this girl had decided to address her instead of trying to get Batman's attention. In Bruce's current dark mood, she didn't think it very likely he'd be in the mood to address prisoners no matter their outward appearance or problems.

"Oh, this? To be totally honest with you the world we come from is weird. Pretty much all of us except for Damian have experienced the whole 'transported by a mysterious omnipotent seeming entity to a strange place to do battle with creatures across the universe or multiverse for people's entertainment' thing at least three times, and even he's had to deal with meeting alternate versions of himself and the rest of us. Fifth Dimensional reality warpers also regularly kind of just pop in and harass us sometimes too. So yeah this is kind of something that we're used to dealing with back home."

Oracle kept the comm open and turned around so the girl in the cell could see her expression and body language, shrugging.

"We've been thrown off a bit more than usual because some of our enemies came with us and the first thing our fearless leader did was get a hole put in his side and refuse any kind of advanced healing" Oracle shot Bruce a look "and Damian doesn't usually operate without a better half of some kind balancing him out. Any other questions?"

Samurai Jack, City 17-Oh Look, Balthier Is Back

Jack sheathed his sword and nodded at Virgil, the danger in the air slowly ramping down as both decided that there would be no dangerous test of skills between them...for now.

Soon though Jack's face lit up with conflict forgotten as Balthier's ship descended and began allowing people onboard. He rushed back onto the ship to greet its temporary Skeleton Crew, the Bridge Bunny, and the ship's fearless commander!

"Ah, Captain! You have come to our aid at an excellent time! Truly, you are as heroic and noble as you claimed! I have been told we must reach that spire in order to halt this invasion. Afterward, we may need your help in escaping as well. It is a job only a heroic sky captain could accomplish and your help is most welcome! Come, I shall introduce you to these others. All should know of your role in stopping what is surely a terrible conflict!"

Universal Exports: Setting Up A Play Date!

Decade nodded in agreement. "I suppose we should organize a meeting in neutral ground, one where our agents couldn't draw on each other even if they wanted to. I'm acutely aware that this so-called Common Room is littered with so many bugs one cannot step three paces without accidentally crushing one. However, Miss Kirihara's reports do mention a set of meeting rooms adjacent to the area with the portals and globe. I recommend we set a time for our agents to meet in one of those rooms."

Awaiting his counterpart's thoughts, Decade glanced at the newest message on his phone.

In the hospital? Hmm...well, at least that's a better detention center than PANDORA. Handing the Black Reaper over to Nishijima seemed almost as bad as handing him over to Amber.

"Thanks to our intel, April and July will—at the very least—know 007's identity on sight. As a gesture of courtesy, I can try to summarize my field agents for you, so that you may relay the information to Mr. Bond:

"Agent April is a woman in her late twenties, of African heritage, with short hair dyed a bright blue. As her cosmetic choices may suggest, she enjoys the flashy and exuberant lifestyle; I imagine she's not one for subtly when off the clock.

"Agent July is a boy roughly nine years in age, with grey eyes and blond hair. Dolls are by-and-large expressionless creatures, and say very little unless questioned, so expect Agent April to do all the talking. It is not the UK's policy to employ children, especially in our line of work, but Dolls and are notable exceptions; there are few pleasant alternatives for where a fully-obedient, apparently will-less child may end up. We are fortunate to have him in our care."

With that last little upbeat, Decade flashed a small smile and turned to his watch. "Judging by the time, I propose we schedule the meeting for tomorrow. We can discuss the hour later. Thank you for your time, Q; you have been exceptionally generous listening to an old man's rambling."

Chaldea, Conference Room: Speaking of Servitude...

"So you are forced to embody what you are now, but have the option to turn down a chance to return to Earth." Brita summarized with a hum. "Far as fortune goes, that sounds like a mixed-bag; at least you can set some terms for when your powers are used. Unless I'm misunderstanding you."

She idly shifted the Caster card with her index finger. "Contractors...are not that lucky. One day, we're just like everyone else, the next—!"

She snapped her fingers and flashed the Tin Man a smile. "The world seems distorted somehow. Everything has a clean-cut, almost numerical value to it. Friends, family, they have no real meaning besides the needs for self-preservation. Lovers are only good for scratching a biological itch, children are nothing but a detriment...you recognize that these people around you used to mean the world to you—maybe you believed they were the one reason you kept living—but you somehow understand that the person who went to bed last night was not the same person who woke up this morning."

Brita tilted her head, turning her eyes to the door. "The world is different, perhaps no better expressed than in the fact that the stars themselves have changed. And up there, twinkling in the night sky, is a little light that wasn't there the night before—and that's you. It shines when you use your power, and falls when you take your last breath. The world is never the same because you've managed to place a piece of yourself in the heavens. I'd call it poetic...if it didn't come with all the baggage of being a Contractor in a world run by humans!"

She faced the Caster again with an expression flirting between a scowl and a pout. "I've already mentioned what happens to a new Contractor, but perhaps not in the proper light: those civilians who are rounded up to have their memories erased aren't just witnesses while we're on the job. They're our friends and family. Parents who lose their children in both body and memory. Children of single parents who believe their aunts and uncles are their mom and dad—if they're lucky to have those relatives; I believe they're reprogrammed as orphans, otherwise. Lifelong friends who get childhood memories wiped clean, employers who scratch their heads about their sudden job vacancy, spouses who find themselves single, it's honestly a miracle how well the powers-that-be can manage to sweep us under the rug like that. Then again, we're only a few thousand compared to seven billion, so our existence isn't impossible to keep in the dark.

"So you're abducted from your home less than a week after you're suddenly not "you" anymore. The suits who take you "escort" you to their van say they're from this organization or this branch of the government, most likely one that you've never heard of before. They say they're taking you to a facility where they can treat your new condition. You don't believe them, but you're distinctly aware that at least one of the suits has a gun holstered under his jacket, so you go along with it. When you arrive, you're told to forget your old name and to never return to your home because everyone you knew and loved has already forgotten you. You're given a code name or a Messier code, and that's all they address you by until the need for a change arises. You're trained to use your powers to their benefit, and sent out into the field to perform whatever suicidal task they don't want to risk human lives to accomplish. If you succeed, you get paid and they allow you to live until the next mission. If you fail...well, then the cycle ends, doesn't it?"

Brita smiled at the Tin Man; a sort of cynical, sarcastic, smile that seemed to ask "funny, ain't it?" She ignored the tingling sensation in her nose, and the water swelling in her eyes.

"There's no second chance for us, no means to redeem whatever we did as humans. We didn't have some monumental accomplishment that makes us memorable in fact it's the exact opposite. We're dead to the world—if not physically yet, then at least we've got a tag in the morgue waiting for us. I want to push the comparison between us further, I really do, but Caster this is where your life and mine part ways. The Evening Primrose is about breaking the hold our enemies have on the Contractor race. We've banded together to preserve the future of our species from a very real threat—one that's already tried to wipe us out once and, up till our abduction here, was preparing to try again. The reason I've fled Genosha and wound up here isn't because I held some personal grudge against King or anything like that: I simply realized that we had traded one pair of suits for another."

Her sigh broke into a shudder as she shielded her eyes behind in a hand. Perhaps she wasn't playing the cutesy damsel in distress anymore, but that didn't mean she couldn't work the human element into the role.

"For all I know, our leader's dead and the others are rotting in jail. Or worse, getting indoctrinated to fight for Genosha."

Tatsu and Alfred-Archades

"Nope."

"Wouldn't the military have killed a monster in the city by now?"

"Are you mad?"

This was about the extent of what they would hear, when people were not clearly trying to extort something called "Gil" out of them in return for likely dubious information. Eventually, one man would point them toward a nearby tavern.

"Lots of folk have been going in there today, after Lord Vayne's speech. If you're looking for information, that's your best bet."

Were they to go inside, they would find.....well, a tavern. Even here, they ain't all that different from your standard bar. The most notable aspect would be a large pig like thing by the door, standing in the typical arms crossed pose of a bouncer. From the bar itself, an animated conversation was in progress.

"-vanished into thin air, as if the Mist consumed it!"

"Bah, wild tales from a drunkard!"

"No, no, I know what I saw! I ain't touched a cup of it today!"

"Your breath says otherwise."

"Alright, alright, one cup! But me eyes, they still work! And I'm telling you, that pink haired lad, he must be a demon in disguise! How else would he command such a beast!?"

"Oh, we had better start quaking in our boots at the pink haired demon, everyone."

The room erupted into laughter.

Archades-Raki

The kids looked at each other for a few seconds. Then, as one, they lifted their hands, pointing directly at a shop with a sign proclaiming it to be "Charlotte's Magickery".

"Be careful." One of the boys said. "Our parents don't like us going near that shop. Says we're too young for the things they have inside."

As they entered the shop, they would instantly be approached by a woman with a pointy mage's hat on.....and a uniform that had somewhat more skin showing through the open robes then might be expected of someone working in a shop.

"Hello, and welcome to Charlotte's Magickery!" She said in that overly happy tone that said she was being more happy then she wanted to be. "What kind of Magicks are you looking for today?"

Underground-Larsa

As Larsa picked himself up, the spooky noises were enough to cause him to reach for the blade on his hip, which he drew in a fencing style stance.

"On guard! Something lurks in the shadows. Reveal yourself, foul fiend!"

Underground-Lab

"Don't worry, we'll be careful." Makoto said to Alphys. "Well. Thank you both once again for the tour. We might be back later with some friends of ours, hopefully we might get a chance to see more of the Underground then, when we're on less of a strict timeframe." She bowed to both of them. "Well, let's get moving."

Assuming no one else had anything major to say, they would start making their way out of the Underground.

The Cure-Common Room

The Cure took a moment to reflect on Kyoko's words. Wise words, perhaps. Very well then, I shall tell you. What your friend told you is indeed the truth, all of it. It is information not commonly known beyond her. Your.....shall we say, sponsor, is aware of these facts, but elected not to share this with anyone he made a deal with. Any other questions? I'm in a good mood right now, so I will allow you to ask what you will, although be aware I may choose not to answer for any number of reasons.

Archades-Draklor Labortories

Vayne nodded, expression unreadable as he considered his guest's words.

"Indeed, I will not deny what you say. Information is power, and entire wars have hinged on such vital, yet intangible things. There are two topics of immediate concern to Archades at present. First, the nations we now share borders with. Preparations are underway to send delegates to begin a diplomatic discourse with each of the nations bordering us, but knowing what we are dealing with in advance, well....No doubt you do not need to be told the importance of such things."

"The second matter of import is that of our captor. This being who calls himself The Cure, who wields godlike power, yet seeks to meddle in the affairs of man. I am seeking any and all information I can about him. Who is he, where did he come from what, if any, limits does he have to his power, how does he think, anything you have to offer, even if it is naught but speculation.

Before he could elaborate or any questions could be asked, the car came up on a large tower that looked more like a fortress then a lab

"Ah, and we are here. Welcome to the Draklor Labortories."

The car made a landing on a pad somewhere near the lower end of the tower.

"There are no doors through which one can enter on the ground. A security measure to ensure that no secrets find their way past our walls. All staff, from our top researchers to the workmen, are housed, fed, and kept in this building. No one is allowed to leave without direct authorization. Archades takes the security of our research very seriously."

Whenever this was just Vayne being a good host and explaining what he was seeing, or delivering a subtle warning, was left up to interpretation. They entered the building, seeing a reception desk with a smiling woman in front of it. She bowed to Vayne as she saw him. Behind her, on the wall, was a large portrait showing a man. Below it was the words-

Doctor Cidolfus Demen Bunansa, Head Researcher and Administrator

Vayne continued to walk forward, not even paying the woman so much as a glance as he walked past.

"Below us is the housing for staff, shops to provide what they need to live, faculties for recreation, and so forth. It is here where the real work happens."

Indeed, as they started walking forward, actual staff started to appear. Some paid Vayne a nod as he walked past, or saw him and then strove to fade into the wall as best as they could, scrambling out of his way. But for the most part, no notice was taken of the duo. men in black uniforms walked past, some reading and even writing on clipboards as they walked, some in hushed conversation about confidential research, others so deep in thought that Vayne himself had to take a step out of their way, least they collide with him.Somewhere behind him, Nishijima would suddenly be shoved to the side a step as a man walked past at a great stride.

"Out of the way, out of the way, can't you see I'm in a hurry? Damned fools, this research won't complete itself, I need

His voice faded as he turned the corner.

"I should take a moment to warn you, before we reach our destination." Vayne said. "Doctor Cid is among the smartest men Archades has ever produced. Yet, ever since a research expedition some years ago, he has become somewhat.....shall we say, unhinged. Completely harmless, I assure you, but the man has a large number of quirks that one might consider....disconcerting. It is said sometimes that with great men come great flaws. I ask that you show patience and understanding with regards to these.....quirks."

City 17

Balthier scratched his head as people started getting on the ship. "Happy to be of service, but, er, about the whole "free" thing...."

Then Jack appeared, and Balthier only became more deflated as he was finding it harder and harder to figure out a way to ask for money that diden't come off as being an asshole and potentially pissing off the large group of people with deadly weapons.

"I'm sure I, er, can help with the getaway too. Why don't we come into the cockpit and discuss it?"

The ship was.....crowded. No two ways about it. The thing only had about 6 seats, and 4 were already taken, two for Fran and the now sitting Balthier in the front, and another 2 taken by the Monster crewmembers. People were no doubt going to have to stand weirdly close to one another and hold onto the walls for this trip.

"So, here's what's going to happen." Balthier announced to the room at large. "I'm going to take us up to the top. I've been watching how these other ships move, and I'm sure I can fly circles around them. The problem is there's....well, a lot of them. I can get a few seconds to blast out a window and drop you all in, but then I'm going to have to circle around and do some fancy shooting to clear another opening if you expect a retrieval. That will take several minutes, at the least, during which you'll be on your own. So, this is the time to gear up for a fight, if you're expecting one."

The ship lifted off and started moving.

"Oh, and, on an entirely unrelated topic, I'm putting myself at considerable risk here. I'm not going to hold you hostage or start demanding bids right now, but it would seem only fair and prudent that I be paid some sum for offering you my services for this, ahem, vital operation, no?"

Battleworld

The Cure's voice would sound in the heads of the Chunk Representatives "I am adding a new land. Please welcome The Mushroom Kingdom to the Battleworld"

The map flickered and changed

The New Map of Battleworld

Those who find their land brought to the Battleworld will find that, in the course of their normal (or not so normal) day, they and everyone in their land had suddenly fell asleep. They would wake up to find themselves on the Battleworld, where anyone near a chunk border would note the clear changes to their surroundings. Whoever had been chosen as the chunk representative (this being the main character) would find a note in their hand.

Greetings. Right now, I am sure you have questions. What happened? Who is responsible for this? If you are outside or near a window, you may have already noticed the changes outside. Suffice it to say, you are no longer on your world. Now, you are in MY world. You are far from the only ones I have brought here, however. Should you wish answers, then you should enter the blue portal that now stands before you, or leave your current quarters and follow the hall. All questions you have shall be addressed there.

As they finished the note, they would indeed find a blue portal had appeared in front of them, waiting to take them inside. Inside, blank white walls stood on all sides of them, with only a giant round table in the center stopping it from looking like a white void. In the center of said table stood a rotating globe, with the map of the new world on it, each land clearly marked with the name of the land and the name of their chosen representative (That is, the one who received the note) under it. Above it, in gigantic letters, was the name of the world, Battleworld.

Around the table were chairs, some of which had names on the back. The leader would find a chair with their name on it, and other chairs would have names that matched the names on the globe. One chair, The Cure's giant black throne, stood away from the rest. About 20 or so feet in front of it stood a large, black obelisk, with a digital screen on it that seemed to have a list of names on it. Inside said chair was the giant form of The Cure. He sat about 20 feet tall, with blood red skin, fully black eyes, and a grin that showed his rotting teeth. He extended a hand as they entered, waving them over

Koishi, HELL YEAH at Chireiden
Koishi hesitantly accepted her own property back, as a smile slowly grew on her face. Though, it wasn't like her usual blindly chipper one...it was one exhibiting the purest element in the multiverse, one that anyone would recognize at a glance: smug.

"You know...I might not look it, but you happen to be right in front of the Regional Champion of Hide-and-Seek, friend," Koishi proudly declared to Majora. "If there's anyone here who ca—OH WAIT IT'S GOING ON RIGHT NOW!"

Time was of incredible importance! She had to help this mask kid win at all costs! Koishi took both of his pale little hands and spun him around until he faced the door, and then the purple tendrils that wrapped around her torso snaked out from behind her. Slowly straining to open the door, she said "They're probably right behind you, right? RIGHT! You can hide anywhere here, there's also my sister and she doesn't like visitors andshecanhearwhatyou'rethinking but just think of her like she's an extra seeker! Okay!"

And then she tried to lead him inside, almost yanking him through the monolithic front doors. While inside, her voice went down to a whisper as she entered Koishi Stealth Mode. Not the actual stealthy, hide-your-presence thing, just the one that made it so her sister didn't hear her in the very echoey hallways as easily.

"There's the library, the dining room, the garden, the place with the glass box thing, Orin's room with all the skulls and stuff, the basement, my room, my sister's room, my sister's office, my sister's study, my sister's bathroom, my sister's shower...everywhere!"- She turned back to Majora and said "Go pick a spot! I'll let you choose!"

New Home

"No, I'm sorry," said Asgore, concerned by Mao's sudden urgency "I don't believe I've seen such a man in this land. I can check with my guardsmen to see if they've seen him enter, or the 'demon' that he's been hunting."

City 17

"Ah, Captain! You have come to our aid at an excellent time! Truly, you are as heroic and noble as you claimed! I have been told we must reach that spire in order to halt this invasion. Afterward, we may need your help in escaping as well. It is a job only a heroic sky captain could accomplish and your help is most welcome! Come, I shall introduce you to these others. All should know of your role in stopping what is surely a terrible conflict!"

"TERRIBLE CONFLICT?!" Papyrus sprang to attention. "WORRY NOT, FRIEND JACK! IF HEROISM AND NOBILITY IS REQUIRED, THEN BOTH OF THOSE ARE IN GREAT SUPPLY ABOARD THIS VESSEL OF THE AIR! OH, NEW PEOPLE ARE COMING IN. HELLO, NEW PEOPLE!" The tall skeleton sprang about, trying to offer a friendly greeting to as many boarders as possible, a task that became increasingly difficult as more people came on and there became less room to manoeuvre. Sans, meanwhile, took a look at the more crowded surroundings, then leaned back and put his feet up, taking up as much space as his short frame would allow and seeing how many people he could annoy.

Underground Ruins

"On guard! Something lurks in the shadows. Reveal yourself, foul fiend!"

There was short pause. Then a voice echoed in the darkness, one that sounded neither foul nor fiendish. "Hello? Is there somebody there?"

A moment later, a certain goat woman came around the corner. Seeing the two young men and the drawn sword, she made a sound of surprise and raised a hand to her mouth, concern in her eyes. "Hello...Please, do not be frightened, I mean you no harm. I am Toriel, the caretaker of the Ruins. I pass through here every day to see if anyone has fallen down. Are you two alright?"

Alucard, Sypha, and Carmilla, Inside the Strahl, City 17

Alucard scanned the room of occupants, and sheathed his sword as soon as he realized that things were going to be cramped inside here. Glancing at the occupants, there was the human captain, two skeletons, and...

Well, both Grant Danasty and James Bond will be happy to learn that there is at least one bunnywoman on the planet now. To be truthful, the captain of this airship actually reminded him of a more regal version of Grant, or at the very least what Grant wants to be.

The taller of the two skeletons then spoke up and both Alucard and Carmilla looked confused. After all, skeletons back on their word did not exactly have the vocal chords or magical power to talk. Even Sypha blinked before it dawned on her where the two skeletons must be from.

"Oh, you two must be from the same chunk as that merwoman Undyne," Sypha looked over at some of the other hunters in their group. "The Underground, I believe... A land of friendly monsters."

And then Balthier got to topic of payment. Sypha looked slightly annoyed, but figured they could not be that lucky. Alucard pulled out a bag of gold coins out and showed it to Balthier.

"Will this satisfy your monetary needs for now?" Alucard asked Balthier. While it would not be enough to satisfy the sky pirate completely, the dhampir felt that the rest of the money he had 'borrowed' from his father would be enough to keep him quiet and loyal long enough for the mission to be completed.

"We shall figure out the details of your full payment after this mission," Sypha added to at least ensure Balthier's loyalty for now. She figured she could just borrow some money from Lady later to pay him off.

City 17

"Payment? Why don't you go ask that big red fucker for money if you want payment, we're sort of busy trying not to get blasted apart here!" Helen remarked. She lengthened her legs just a tad so that she was standing taller than the others and didn't have her torso shoved into the others, so that she was more comfortably able to fit into the throng of people crammed into the ship.

"You're a skeleton," Deneve said simply to Sans and Papyrus, demonstrating her keen senses of observation and logic. She stood with her back to the wall so that her pair of giant swords (hopefully) didn't poke into anyone. "That's... unusual."

Archades - Charlotte's Shop

"Thanks kids!" Raki said, then the three of them left and went to the store in question.

"No magic," Miria said plainly to the shopkeeper. "Just information. A young woman, or perhaps a young man, came by here earlier today. Pink hair, possibly related to some sort of so-called 'monster'. They are responsible for taking a young boy, and we are tracking them down so that we may free the child. Did you see either of them or the monster, and where they were heading?"

Sakura Dungeon - Charlotte's Shop

"Yes, that will more than... suffice...." The shopkeeper gulped and nodded vigorously at Circe's payment. She hefted up the heavy sack of coins in her hand and here eyes widened as she smiled.

"Suffice indeed," she added gleefully.

"A necklace enchantment, is it?" Yomi interjected from behind Lilith and Circe. "I'm always fond of seeing new things, just what sort of magic do you plan to use on your new accessories?"

Maeve was also still there.

Sakura Dungeon Arena

"Oh, a boyfriend? I'm sorry," Ceri asked Yang. "I... I guess she really isn't a monster then, heh. Heeeh." She laughed very slightly at her own joke.

"Y-yeah, like Yomi and me," she replied to Wonder Woman with a slight blush.

"Uhhhh, they sure are going at it," she commented as she watched Blake and Artemis keep going at it.

"You're a spellcaster? What sort of magic do you know?" she asked Rose to try and pass the time. Though there was one more thing that interested her.

"I'd like to train with you! We can spar!" she said eagerly to Diana. "Umm, if you'd want to, that is, Diana. Eventually. Please. It's just that I have a sword, you have a sword, I like swordfighting. That makes sense...."

Sakura Dungeon Gardens

The Nine Tails began to pout a little at the idea of her friendly new... friend... not wanting to do anything else, but then perked right up.

"A sister, is it?" the Fox Spirit said cheerfully. "Well if she's anything at all like you, I would just love a chance to get to know her."

She brushed a hand against a hedge and licked her lips.

"You know, the day's starting to wind down," she added. "Before we know it, it shall be time for supper. I don't suppose you have a place to stay? You and your sister?"

Rose, Sakura Dungeon Arena

"I can use magic to create beams of energy to attack with," Rose said. "I can also fly, but that's just a thing all of my friends can do. Oh, and I used to be able to see into the future, but that's not the case anymore."

"I grew up in New York," she told Wonder Woman. "The Earth I come from was destroyed in a meteor shower several years ago, and my friends and I have been trying to create a new world for human and alienkind to prosper in ever since. Sounds pretty unbelievable, I realize, but so is the situation that we're all caught up in right now. As for me, I suppose there's not really that much to say. I enjoy gaming, knitting, reading, writing, nothing too out of the ordinary. Well, there's also the part where I died and came back more powerful, but... I'm probably already stretching your suspension of disbelief as it is. What about you? You are an Amazon, correct? I've read that you're a group of powerful women warriors, though I don't actually know much more than that."

Shadow Queen and Beldam, Palace of Shadow

Deep underground Rogueport lay the cursed Palace of Shadow. It had been 1000 years since the Shadow Queen had last been in the Mushroom Kingdom. Her previous excursion into the world of mortals had ended in the destruction of an entire city but ended with her being sealed away forever in a hollow tomb. At least, in theory. But her loyal servant Beldam ensured through her schemes that she would once again return and make her grim procession across the Earth. What made this all possible was the girl known as Princess Peach. Her body made the perfect vessel for the Queen to possess so that she could enter the mortal realm once again. And once she did, the only people in the world willing and able to stand up to her were Mario and his various companions. From what Beldam had told her Queen, this Mario was a thorn in the side of many would-be ne’er-do-wells in the kingdom.

And indeed, he did prove to be quite the opponent… temporarily. The fact of the matter was that he and his friends were wholly unprepared for a being of her power and cunning. Spending a millennium in solitude had given her drive and focus that mortals simply could never hope to duplicate in their own. The anger she felt from being trapped in that prison for so long had given her renewed resolved and she quickly overpowered the heroes once she got her bearings. It was soon after that she would shroud the world in her dark magic.

For Mario, for Peach, for the entire world, it was…

But it would be dreadfully boring if our tale were to end there, would it not? And so the story continues.

The Queen was confused about one thing right now What exactly happened to her defeated foes? She hadn’t had the opportunity to kill them, but they were no longer in her presence. And how was she still manifesting without a vessel to possess? Not that she was about to complain that she no longer needed to be hitched to a human – that was the last thing on her mind.

”Mmmm…”    the Shadow Queen awoke from her slumber. Another curious occurrence, given that she did not sleep in the first place under normal circumstances.

”Beldam, what just happened? Why has the vessel disappeared?”

“That I do not know, my Queen,” answered Beldam. “Though it does appear as though her presence is no longer necessary for your rebirth, given your continued presence in her absence.”

”That much I have gathered, yes. And what of Mario? I trust that he will no longer be an issue?”

“Well,” Beldam began, having a bit of trouble remembering recent events. “Much like the vessel, I’m unfortunately not certain of that either.”

”How annoying. Well, no matter. I will take care of him in due time. For now-“

The Queen trailed off when she noticed a strange scrap of paper on her tomb. She picked it up and read over the Cure’s standard explanation of the Battleworld. It sounded like nonsense to put it lightly. Then again, she did have this vague feeling that something about this world had changed, and she was curious if there was any truth to these words.

”…A change of plans. Apparently, the Mushroom Kingdom has been displaced and is now located in another dimension. I would advise that we go see what this is about.”

Beldam looked highly skeptical but nodded and followed her Queen into the strange portal that had appeared in her chambers.

Shadow Queen, Common Room

The Queen entered the room, along with Beldam. She quickly noticed the Cure and figured he probably had something to do with this.

”I take it that you are the one who sent me this note? Why exactly was I brought here, and what is this place?”

She sounded more curious than anything else. She didn’t particularly care how the citizens of the Mushroom Kingdom felt about their new predicament, and she was mostly just glad to be out of that tomb. Any other concerns were secondary now. One thing did bother her, though. Just look at all these HUMANS… dammit. They were the type that loved to meddle in people’s affairs, like that mustachioed plumber who had become her nemesis. She might never be able to rest again with all these annoying creatures of flesh and bone at her doorstep. All the better that she was in charge, then. Peach would not have the backbone to get her hands dirty in the event of a war, and Bowser was too much of a meathead to really grasp the intricacies of leadership. As far as the Shadow Queen was concerned, she was the only one who was prepared to lead the Mushroom Kingdom through the rigors of the Battleworld.

Beldam, meanwhile, looked at the globe in the center of the room. She was starting to become a believer now that she saw the Battleworld firsthand. She was not a true demon like her queen, merely a being created to serve her. She wasn’t thinking about the same things that she was. She merely felt what any other being would feel in this situation. Fear, uncertainty, and the kind of emotions the Shadow Queen would find pedestrian. But she didn’t show this – she hated showing any form of weakness.

Our Heroes, Rogueport

Mario had just woken up from their sudden slumber. What just happened? One moment he was fighting the Shadow Queen, the next he and his friends were in the yuppie haven known as Poshley Heights.

“Mama Mia. What-a happened?” Mario said, probably breaking the hearts of millions by actually having a voice. “Luigi, are you ok? What happened to Peach, Goombella, Koops, Vivian-“

The plumber went on a mile a minute rant listing off all the various allies he had made over the course of his adventure until Luigi interrupted.

“I’m fine bro, don’t worry,” Luigi said. He had been awake a bit longer than his brother, so he had some time to assess the situation a bit. “Apparently while you were fighting the Shadow Queen, something weird happened and everyone just ended up scattered across the Mushroom Kingdom. Nobody really seems to know why, to be honest. It’s almost as if someone grabbed the whole world and just… shook it around.”

Suddenly Princess Peach woke up behind Mario, looking like she’d been put through the ringer.

“Ugh… Mario, Luigi, what happened?” the Princess asked, unable to remember.

“Peach!” the brothers shouted in unison, giving the Princess a hug.

“I was so-a worried!” Mario said, practically in tears. “When you were possessed, I thought…”

“Possessed?” Peach asked, very confused. “What are you talking about?”

“You don’t remember what happened?”

“I’m afraid not.”

That seemed strange to Mario and Luigi, but perhaps it was understandable that such a traumatic event would be something most people wouldn’t want to remember in the first place.

“Hm…” Mario puzzled over what their next course of action should be.

…And Bowser, Petalberg

“Alright Mario,” the Koopa King began, “Maybe you bested me the first time, but I think I can do better. Prepare for a one way trip on the pain train!”

He then looked around and noticed that Mario and Peach were nowhere to be seen. Just a bunch of koopas who were now fearfully running into their homes to hide from the spiky shelled tyrant.

“Wait, what? Where’d Mario go? How did I even get here?”

“Please don’t hurt me!” the Mayor of the town pleaded with Bowser. He was an elderly Koopa with an impressive beard. “I’m too old to die!”

“…What does that even- look, have you seen Mario around? I don’t have a lot of time to mess around right now.”

“Uh, no, not recently,” the Mayor said.

“Great, just great,” Bowser sighed, then he noticed something very peculiar way off in the horizon. It seemed the borders of the Mushroom Kingdom had changed. Past Petalberg, there was a strange city Bowser had never seen before. It had tall buildings and… well, that was really all Bowser could make out from here.

“Wait, what the hell is that? Why’s there some big fancy pants city where the rest of the Mushroom Kingdom should be?” Bowser asked out loud, unknowingly referring to Hell’s Gate Tokyo as some ‘big fancy pants city’ for reasons that probably only Bowser understood. Undoubtedly, the residents would probably disagree with his assessment.

“I don’t know,” the mayor said, equally confused as King Koopa. “I took a nap and then suddenly, everything became all strange!”

“Hrgh… wait, holy crap. That place is in THREE DEE! WHAT?! What is this madness?!”

“Uh…”

“Quiet old man, I’m having a very important monologue right now. Now where was I…? Oh right. THREE DIMENSIONS! What would you even do with all of those? I’ll tell you what – shove the third one up your shell because who needs it?”

“Listen, Mr. King of the Koopas…” a young koopa approached Bowser timidly. “Um… a lot of people are becoming Three Dee these days. It’s sort of the hip new thing.”

The Koopa flipped in and out of 3D as they spoke, as if to give a demonstration

“Heck, even these old bones have have done it once… just once, though. The process is a little too hard on my back these days. Maybe these newfangled neighbors of ours just decided to turn the whole city Three Dee for some reason.“

Bowser just stared at the mayor and the young koopa like they both grew a second head,

“What?! You’re not making sense! I can’t accept this ridiculous new future where people flip between dimensions all… all flippidy dippidy! I won’t stand for it!”

Nobody else had a chance to respond. Suddenly, a deep movie trailer-ish voice was heard throughout Petalburg.

You’ve seen him on Broadway, on television, and with Mario’s boot firmly kicking his ass. Now it’s time to see King Koopa on the big screen in his own major motion picture.

“Wait, is that Doopliss? I’m not the only person that can hear that, right? What are you even doing here?”

In a world where people are made of paper and paper is made of people, the world can only turn to one Koopa for answers... Bowser. With his dim mind and strong muscles, will Bowser solve the totally shitty mystery of why everyone is turning THREE DEE? Will I get bored and decide to turn some villagers into pigs again? Who knows! Who cares!

This Summer, watch Mario and Luigi Paper Jam: B007ser - You Only Jam Twice!

“…”

“…Doopliss, do you seriously have nothing better to do than to follow me specifically and troll me?”

“No,” Doopliss replied frankly.

“Okay,” Bowser said as he anticlimactically walked away. Having said the magic word, Bowser just kind of stared at Tokyo from a distance, wondering what he’d gotten himself into this time.

Oh Right There’s Also Grodus, X-Naut Base

The X-Nauts finally finished repairing their defeated leader after a brisk and seemingly involuntary nap. The Shadow Queen had done quite a number on him, but it was nothing they couldn’t fix with the power of SCIENCE. One of the advantages of their leader being more machine than man.

“Sir Grodus!” and X-Naut grunt exclaimed. “Do you hear me?”

“Yes yes, I’m awake,” Grodus grumbled. “Now, where are Mario and the Shadow Queen? And what happened to he base? Why in the blazes aren’t we on the moon?”

“We uh, have no idea Sir Grodus,” the grunt admitted. “We’re pretty confused as to what happened to our base, too. As for Mario and the Shadow Queen… well, we went out to search for them, but we sorta all fell asleep, and-“

“You fell asleep?! At such a critical juncture?! INSOLENT CURS!”

“W-Well, I mean… dude, I don’t know, it just sort of happened. I mean, the Shadow Queen was resurrected, a lot of weird stuff was going on...”

Grodus gives a resigned sigh. How did he get stuck with fools like these for minions?

“Whatever. I suppose we’ll need some time to figure out what’s going on. In the meanwhile, just don’t screw anything up.”

Common Room: Theodore Hastings' First "Holy Shit I Have Too Many People in This Room!" Post!

Evening Primrose, with the Teen Titans: Is Friendship Magic?

Luca chuckled at the Tamaran's incessant gusto. Though Starfire didn't (and, in fact, couldn't) squeeze her hand to point it'd hurt, the Contractor didn't fail to notice she was being out-gripped by a teenager.

Man, this kid is REALLY weird! she thought as a grin streaked across her face. Needless to say, she loved it.

"Truth is we can't." the blond-haired Contractor answered Cyborg. "Nothing to cry over. Just a fact."

He offered the Titan a half-baked shrug as consolation, but thankfully Luca intervened before the teenagers could get any more ideas about spinning that Rated G "Believe in Yourself!" dribble to someone roughly twice their age.

"Another fact is that our species is only a decade old. Hell, most of us here were humans just two or three years ago. We don't know what we can and can't do, so we're open to the possibilities. Thanks for the concern."

Jai stared from the Titans, to his comrade, and back to the Titans with the same spaced-out, almost drowsy look on his face. He offered Starfire a small nod and said "Thanks," before deciding his stomach needed attending to as well.

"So." Luca hummed at Starfire when her mouth wasn't full of veggie-lover's pizza. "The rest of your team seem like Earthlings; what brought you to our—well, their—little blue marble?"

...

Out of the immediate responses to Daichi's descriptions, only Raven's words merited an answer.

"All Contractors must pay a price each time they use their abilities." He said as he turned to the cloaked Titan with the same stoic tone he'd been using before. "It's said that Amber has the power to travel through time. While I've never witnessed our leader use her powers myself, I do know that her price is to grow younger."

The body-builder leveled a hand to his shoulder, as if to measure something. "When I first met Amber, she stood about this tall and looked old enough to be in college."

He lowered the hand so it stood parallel with his solar plexus. "Now, she looks younger than your team, and hardly reaches here. I couldn't even begin to guess her true age, but judging by how much she's been able to accomplish, I'd wager she was near the end of her life when her star appeared."

Daichi nodded at Robin's determination, and even cracked a smirk at Beast Boy's joke.

"Glad to hear it." he answered both.

Just then, a woman stepped into the Common Room through the portal to Hell's Gate Tokyo. She wore a small black shirt that hugged her torso like a corset, paired with wine-colored capris and (most surprising of all) a white lab coat. She emerged with cigarette between her painted lips and exhaled smoke into the white room with a sudden, shock-induced cough. Most likely, this was her first time inside the Common Room.

Daichi stared at the woman with just the shade of a glare. He didn't need to know who this woman was to guess why she was here.

"Excuse me." he said to the Titans, and moved to intercept the woman, already making her way to the Dolls.

...

Despite the Titans' best efforts, it seemed the "Friendship!" lecture was falling of deaf ears; albeit for different reasons. Hanna groaned and rolled her eyes like the little Raven she was quickly appearing to be. In a wordless gesture to appease both sides, Eli grabbed Hanna's hand and held it in his own, as if to prove that he had a friend, and he didn't need to be told how important they were. The gesture even worked on Hanna, who shifted her weight and turned her eyes to the floor, embarrassed and just a little apologetic.

Maki, still surging on anger, simply shifted directions when Cyborg stated—no, pretended—that he knew exactly what the little saboteur was going through.

"What's wrong with being useful to someone, huh?!" he lashed back. Maki didn't care if the Cyborg was bigger than him; he'd bark the Titan into a corner if he had to. "Standing by someone because you're useful to them shows your loyalty, doesn't it? You're making a difference. You're fulfilling a purpose! That's more than anything these two ever offered me, or anyone else but Amber and Director Shaw and Instructor Moonstar!"

He clenched his fists as tight as he could, and would've gritted his teeth if he didn't impede his chances of shouting the Titans down.

"They were nice to me because they wanted me to reach my potential. They wanted to improve me. They wanted to make me better than I am! And what's wrong with that?! What's wrong with wanting to become a better person?! I don't like—"

Without warning, the boy froze mid-shout. It might be difficult to spot what caused the sudden halt, but a quick turn around and the Titans would notice a group of three teenagers off to the boy's peripherals. Perhaps they might notice that the original Team JNPR had been watching the pizza party from a distance—and that the girl with red hair was looking in Maki's direction.

The unexpected audience killed any will to argue further. Still clutching the embers of his fallen rage, Maki muttered a "...whatever." and stormed past the party to sit at the round table encompassing the globe. The seat he took had a familiar (and hated) name on its back.

The drama (hopefully!) subsiding, Hanna and Eli excused themselves to snatch more food.

Evening Primrose, with the Seeds and Pyrrha: Swwwwwing and A Miss!

For a heartbeat, Dmitri and Maria shared a suspicious stare with the soldier of the "average family." The moment passed, and the onlookers decided not to move; not if they weren't provoked.

They'd listened to the Manbun with little more than a nearly inaudible scoff between the two of them. The Contractors were no strangers to misdirection, and the "time-sensitive" excuse given by the supposed leader wasn't fooling anyone...well, anyone who was above the legal drinking age.

Surprisingly, Maria felt compelled to share a smirk and a nod with the cloaked Titan. Despite their argument the day before, the Contractor had to respect how the demon-girl didn't jump in headfirst into a potential trap like her comrades did. Too bad the poor girl was the minority.

Whatever suspicious vibes the cynical pair shot towards the Seeds was redirected at the teenager who approached them asking for Amagiri.

Maria didn't miss a beat. "Alright. Tell me the message and I'll let him know."

Dmitri struggled to keep a smirk from twitching on his lips. It was just too damn easy.

Evening Primrose, with David Xanatos: Contractors World Tour

"Why we come from all around the world, Mr. Xanatos!" Anna scoffed with her high-class air. "I myself come from the States, as do several others, but we are by-and-large a multi-continental collective."

She knew that wasn't what the Manhattan leader wanted to know, but the chance to play hard to get was just too tempting.

Anna pointed a gloved hand to the globe, using the gesture as an excuse to move closer to Xanatos so they could speak in whispers.

"Though at the time we were whisked away to this little Wonderland of ours, we were staying in Hell's Gate Tokyo. It's an ugly city, if you ask me. It lacks the same energy, the same entitlement, the same...je ne sais quoi, that American cities have."

She blinked, and her warm smile picked up a curious little purse in those scarlet lips. "Have you ever visited Tokyo, Mr. Xanatos?"

Misaki, with Trevor: Have You Seen This Magic Whip?

Trevor's baritone greeting jumped Misaki away from her phone. "Oh! Mr. Belmont! It's...yes, it's good to see you too."

She had just enough time to tuck her phone away when the vampire hunter dropped a goddamn bomb on her head. It almost didn't matter what the premise was; "Havoc did ____" was enough to turn Misaki's face a shade paler.

"I—I honestly don't know that much about her, I'm sorry." she confessed. "I've crossed paths with the Havoc from my time, when she'd lost her powers, but Amber wished back the monster from Heaven's War. All I know about her is conjecture and some gruesome crime scene photos. She's...she's not someone I'd want to meet again."

It took the chief a moment to piece together what Trevor wasn't saying outright. Out of respect for his wish for confidentiality, Misaki leaned in to whisper. "You mean she stole something from you and didn't kill you to get it? That doesn't make sense. She's obviously not above robbing a corpse—uhh, no offense—so why leave you alive just so you could track her down?"

She glanced at the nearest Meeting Room with a hint of reluctance. Kanami was bound to get here any minute now, and she'd need some help with the Dolls. Then again, this was Havoc—if she was on the move, then it was only a matter of time before someone else got hurt, or worse. After a few moments of painful indecision, Misaki beckoned the vampire hunter to follow her into the Meeting Room.

"Alright, let's make this quick." Misaki said as she locked the door behind them. "Could you explain what she's stolen from you, and why she'd want it in the first place?"

Tatl and Link, with the Seeds and Teen Titans: Yes! Friendship IS Magic!

To say Tatl didn't appreciate Faith's focused interest in her features (rather than her words) was a bit of an understatement. In short, that wondrous stare at the fairy seemed a little too Tingle-like for comfort. Tatl was only half-aware that she had started flapping her wings to float her gently away from the flower-child.

"Well, uhhh, thanks anyway." Tatl replied, and rushed back over to Link and Yukari.

The little hero's reaction to Faith was almost the exact opposite: as his fairy companion leaned away from the Seed daughter, Link leaned in. She was a beautiful woman, and that snow white dress she wore reminded him of the Deku Princess, and Princess Zelda, and...well, Princess Ruto didn't wear clothes, but if she did she'd probably wear a pretty dress too! This lady had to be a princess, and Link knew from experience that all princesses were good people. If he had even a shred of understanding of the subject, he'd call it a law of science.

So even with the bad news, Link couldn't help but smile at the figure smiling back at his companion.

"C'mon. Let's ask someone else."

A twinge of disappointment crossed Link's face, but he waved goodbye to Faith (and subsequently the Seeds) as they approached a new figure: a flying teenager with orange skin and red hair who spoke of "the joy!" and "the friendship!"—two subjects in which Link happened to have some expertise.

Hey there. You see a kid wearing this mask rush through here? He went through one of these portals, we just don't know which one."

Catching his cue, Link proudly displayed his artwork of Majora's Mask (with his little signature on the bottom corner!) and awaited the Titan's answer.

Trevor, Meeting Room

Once he was sure there would be some privacy and Misaki asked to make this quick, Trevor began.

"Havoc took my whip, the Vampire Killer. It is a holy whip made to harm Dracula and that only I or any descendant of mine can safety wield it in battle. As for why she took it..."

Trevor paused here to gain some of his thoughts.

"My best guess is Havoc stole it as an offering for Dracula somehow..." Trevor stated to Misaki. "I do not think Havoc was working for Dracula, but I do think she would be interested in trying to gain favor with him... Dracula would want me dead and if he was truly involved, I would be... Well, a robbed corpse."

Morrigan, Sakura Dungeon Gardens

"Perhaps I should take you up on your offer of seeing your land's succubi," Morrigan stated to the Nine Tails, not answering any of her questions concerning Lilith. "Please lead the way, dear foxwoman."

Halloween Town

"A pleasure to meet you, Supreme Commander. It is rather nice to see that someone can see the greatness of the Medjeds." The talk about dinner was an unexpected blow though and the Egyptian pharaoh blinked for a few moments before her mind tried to equate the context with more modern day situations... and promptly reddened from such thoughts. "T-this pharaoh would love to take you up on your offer, yes!" It would be most rude to refuse an act of hospitality to one that was appreciative of her culture after all.

"And you know about Anubis, the god who watches over the underworld even!" Probably for the best that Nitorcris didn't learn that there existed a monster girl who shared her deity's name of amorous nature. "O-oh, those are Lord Ozymandias' pet sphinxes... do be careful though because their surface area are rather hot to those lacking sufficient protection..." The kitties meanwhile all but let the newcomer play around with them as they wished, tails swishing back and forth with childish excitement.

"Ah, time waits for no one after all. It was very nice to meet you all, gentle-gargoyles. And as for Sakura Dungeon, it exists at the southernmost point of Battleworld, with one having to either cross Castlevania or do an encirclement through the sea to reach it." Ricebag Archer responded with a smile before turning to look to Helena who simply nodded and began to enscribe the current map to Battleworld to give on over to the trio.

Paradise Island Baths- Smarter than the Smarties

"I see... this helps out a lot." Recording just about everything with her spiffy little glasses while nodding every now and then to give the Amazons a metaphorical and understanding shoulder to lean on, the painter gave a gentle smile that seemed to hold a sort of motherly sensation as she looked over the women. Truly even grown up they were still so innocent and childish- it was rather cute even. Honestly it was so fun to push their buttons to see their reactions like right now.

"And it is no problem at all, dears. You have been particularly fine hosts thus far and my opinion of the Amazons are still rather high despite the actions of the minority. One mustn't blame the majority for a few specific individuals' transgressions. Worry not, I still wish to make your various acquaintances and know all about you.~" Smiling sunnily, Lisa del Gioconda would reach out to affectionately ruffle Wonder Girl's hair.

"And really, I wish to ensure that you sisters can talk things over with one another. You are all of the same family after all." That should be just the right levels of sweet talking to ensure that they wouldn't try to clam up around the outsider. Not too much and not too little... in the words of a certain fairy tale home invader, it was was just right. As the advocate of the whole golden ratio concept, it felt about par the course for her to indulge in that bit of whimsy when it could do the most good.

Paradise Island Main Area

"See, you're doing just fine." Enjoying the touching scene of a child enjoying their first visitation with the more equine kind, Tomoe turned her attention to the helpful amazon who produced the apple before nodding her head in a perfunctory manner. "If you would have me upon this hunt, then my bow arm shall be yours." The white-haired samurai responded calmly, knowing that to slay monsters was a duty to not be shirked.

["Please lend me the largest longbow you have and I shall be of service." It was best not to whip out her Servant armaments in front of the superstitious islanders given the info that was fed to her ears via the communications system even if it wasn't strictly witchcraft that she was wielding.

Chaldea Mountains

"No worries, a lot of us aren't experienced with the modern day world as well even if we make for good ghost busters so it evens out. Maybe you can come over every now and then with your movies to show us what kinda cool stuff we're missing out on." Willing his bike on over towards the sea and making it run over the surface of the roiling waves for a change of scenery while somehow preventing anything from getting wet, the super Americanized country bumpkin smiled as he enjoyed the crisp but cold air.

"Also if you want we can commission some Ghostbuster themed stuff for you like their vacuum thing or their clothes. We've been a little stir crazy lately so interacting with cool cats like you takes the edge off our boredom. Servants tend to get pretty weird without stimulation so we sorta need it before some of the wackjobs decide to go off and do something pretty off the rails."

PINK DEMON, Underground

"Heya lady! We're pretty okay!" Waving with good cheer and humor at the approaching goat woman without even batting an eye-lid, Astolfo looked up and let out a low whistle as he mentally measured how far it was from the surface entrance considering how long the descent took. "It's okay, Larsa. I don't think she's a baddie, she doesn't have the overall 'feel' of such. I'm the Rider Astolfo, pleased ta meet ya!" Grinning with inextinguishable energy, the knight all but skipped forward to hold out his hand for a friendly shake.

Strahl, City 17

"Oh man, this is gonna be a rail shooter level! I just know it!" Nobu was pretty much having the time of her life as she continued to toss one shot muskets in an increasing pile of antiquated firearms that soon reached the overall height of roughly the same level as herself in a bristling pile of wood and steel.

"Don't worry, I'll do my best to help you blast the chasers to see how much of a combo I can get going while the others do their thing. I gotta enjoy this display of bullet hell while I can..." Feverish mutterings rang out from the military dressed girl even as she sauntered here and there to Okita's repeated facepalms.

Chaldea Conference Room

"That is... very horrible indeed. It almost sounds like some of the symptoms of becoming a Dead Apostle in a way, where one loses what makes them human in exchange for greater abilities. If it is worth anything... then you have my condolences for the long fight you had went through." Pausing to let the whole spiel sink in and noting the rather... extremist view (though if he was honest there was a good reason for such a mentality from her backstory if it was the truth), Babbage gave a groan of sadness as the complex situation that his latest guest had dragged in the door with her.

"Might I be so bold as to ask if your end goal is to find the unfortunate Contractors and protect them from those would wish harm upon them by taking as much as you can to a 'promised land' like Moses from the Testament? If so, then would not making use of the Cure's wishes be a suitable solution to your problems?" The whole situation was highly reminiscent of many such notable events over humanity's history of the persecuted populations and those who would constantly hound them.

Despite the sympathy that was invoked, so too were alarm bells ringing in his head due to certain key words. The road to hell was paved with good intentions and however much one could sympathize with another, they must always care for their own people first. Gather as much information as needed, preferentially from as wide a pool as possible and then cross reference the results to see what was true and what was not. The human heart was enclosed in unyielding steel as of this point in time, for it was better to be safe than sorry.

Batcave, Holding Cell: Amber Makes That Jackie Chan Face

Amber shied away from the intercom's surface in the off-chance the machine had a camera to see her reactions. She didn't need her captors to spot the mix of confusion, disturbance and a hint of horror brought out by Oracle's nonchalant comments. Maybe she'd been a little generous with her first impression of these people. Man dressed up as a bat? High-tech hideaway in a cave? Deeply embedded social and familial problems? None of it was entirely beyond Amber's imagination.

Fifth dimensional traveling and regular abductions to Battleworlds just like this one was too much. It fucking broke her.

She hugged her face into her knees and tapped the intercom button like one might swat a fly.

"So...I'm uhh...sorry if this sounds nosy..." she paused and realized that she'd already said that, "if your team's so accustomed to things like this, I'm honestly a little scared to know what your enemies are like."

Amber realized a moment too late how that question might be taken the wrong way, and tapped the intercom again. "I'm worried they might cross paths with my friends. If your enemies learn that I'm here, or that Damian took me from Genosha, well...they might try to paint you all in the wrong light."

Meeting Room: Why Don't You Ask Your Best Friend Hei? Huh?!

Misaki furled her brow at the mention of Dracula, but said nothing about it. Trevor's suspicions seemed possible, but it also raised plenty of questions.

"If she stole the Vampire Killer specifically, that suggests she knew it would be something Dracula would want. She was summoned here by Amber—it's possible she robbed you as part of a mission for the Evening Primrose."

Truth be told, the Section Chief was shooting in the dark and trying to see what would stick. Havoc's motives had been a mystery more or less from the beginning, but what seemed even strange right now was the fact Trevor had approached Misaki for help. She was a police officer, true, but she barely knew any more about Havoc than anyone else on the planet. While the vampire hunter had at least one contact who had some history with the robber...

"I've looked through the surveillance feed from our Common Room Specter." Misaki premised, arms crossed, eyes darting away from Trevor's gaze a few beats too long. "You seem to have quite a diverse band of allies, Mr. Belmont: including the first delegate for Hell's Gate Tokyo."

With her first foot in the accusation, the Section Chief bolstered her confidence to ask what had to be asked. "BK-201—the Contractor known as the Black Reaper, or perhaps 'Hei' to you—was present when Havoc first arrived. He seemed to be rightfully furious with Amber, given how he was supposedly the last person to see her alive back in our timeline."

Misaki's stare intensified. "There's a connection between those three that's escaped me for some time. I want to help you, but I'm also hoping you could help me fill in some blanks."

Chaldea Conference Room: Separating the Egypts from the Promised Lands

The Caster's condolences were nothing but words to Brita, but she thanked him for them anyway. No need to seem ungrateful.

"At this point Caster," she sniffed and raised her head again, "I couldn't tell you what our end goal is anymore. It's always been to ensure our race doesn't go extinct, but the means to secure it has changed. We looked for a 'Promised Land' in Genosha, but that's turned out to be only another Egypt. I'm understandably a little skeptical about trying the same plan again."

Her composure was slowly returning, but the blush around her nose eyes and cheeks lingered; a testament to either her sincerity, her acting ability, or her skill in blending the two.

At the question of wishes, Brita shrugged and lightly shook her head. "I'm sorry Caster, I have no idea what you're talking about. Is there some sort of genie on this planet?"

Ruby and Weiss - Motivations; City 17

Ruby was slightly miffed that she was being ignored again, first by Nyarlathotep and now by Vergil, but she boarded the airship with the rest.

But the topic of conversation, and Sypha’s backing her up, brought a question to her mind.

What does Nyarlathotep want?” Ruby asked Sypha, scooching up close to the witch. “You say he really does want us to fall to his level, but why? That can’t be it can it?

Meanwhile, Weiss found herself glaring up at a Claymore again, in what was becoming an irritating pattern.

If he has no stake in this, then he’s well within his rights to request compensation.” The heiress argued. “I’d pay him myself if I was able to. Unfortunately, I don’t know if he’d take credit cards from a world without a chunk here.

Q - Damn You, Alex Rider!; Universal Exports Room

Despite what a popular series of children’s books would tell you, our MI 6 tends not to hire children either.” Q nodded, not mentioning that Bond had told him that his first contact with MI 6 had been at the tender age of thirteen.

Q extended his hand to Decade, seeking a parting handshake.

And don’t worry. If there’s anything I’ve learned in my time at MI 6, it’s that the older ways are sometimes better.
Yang - The Birds and the.. Other Birds, I Guess?; Sakura Dungeon Arena Stands

Yang nodded along with Diana’s second round of advice, which was better. Figure out their weaknesses, and how to exploit them. And she made some good suggestions about what those weaknesses could be.

However, it was Ceri’s words that Yang ended up responding to.

Wait.” She took a glance around the Arena to confirm her suspicions. “Are you saying that there aren’t any male monsters? How do you… y’know, have kids?

She looked at Diana, and remembered what her group had said earlier.

How do Amazons have kids, either? I’m pretty sure that a guy has to be involved somewhere.
Blake - Say It With Me Now: It’s Also A Gun!; Sakura Dungeon Arena Arena

Blake’s final swing hit Artemis’ gauntlet side-on, bouncing off and embedding itself in the dirt. The faunus’ eyes widened as Artemis made her thrust, but it was too late: her second blade didn’t move to intercept it, and the girl herself made no move to dodge.

Artemis’ sword lodged into the young woman’s stomach, her final expression stuck on her face as the metal sank into her form.

If Artemis wasn’t paying too much attention to the teenager she’d just fatally stabbed, she'd see Blake’s kusarigama being yanked behind her.

Over on the sidelines Yang broke out into a grin. Anyone else in the stands could see exactly why: there were now two Blakes, one standing behind the one who'd been run through. And that one had yanked the kusarigama back, holding it by it’s handle.

The Blake in front of Artemis turned pitch-black, and dissolved into nothing. This revealed the Blake behind the shadow-clone, this one pointing her sickle at the Amazon.

A sickle that Artemis might quickly realize was also a gun.

Blake fired a single shot, aiming to give Artemis a flesh wound straight through the meaty outer side of her left thigh. It would match the cut on her right.
Team JNPR - Last Words; Common Room

Pyrrha was a girl who knew when she was getting fucked with, and the way these two were treating her was clearly that. Well, subtle was out the window, time to go nuclear.

It’s a message from Amber.” Pyrrha said with a hint of annoyance in her voice.

As she said this, Jaune caught sight of the obvious scientist leaving the Hell’s Gate Tokyo portal, and knew immediately that they were out of time. He rushed over to Pyrrha, who was still talking with Dimitri and Maria.

This room isn’t safe. The Syndicate could be here any second-” She continued, before being interrupted.

They’re here.” Jaune said, urgency in his voice. “You need to take your people and get out of here, now.

Nora, meanwhile, watched Maki as he made an emotional outburst, catching the words “Shaw” and “Moonstar”, and then made his way to sit on a chair, alone.

Will you go to him?” Ren asked.

He told me to leave him alone.” Nora replied bitterly.

We don’t know where he’ll go after this. This might be your last to speak to him.” Ren countered.

Nora turned to look at her best friend/new boyfriend, who gave her an encouraging nod. Wordlessly, slowly, she made her way over to Maki, standing a few feet away from the young boy.

...do you still not want to talk to me? I’ll totally understand if you don’t.

Common Room

Kyoko stared up at The Cure for a few moments, taking in all that he said. Everything, then - the Soul Gems, the contracts, where Witches come from…Most people would have responded right away with either a stammering series of “No, that can't be!” or something like catatonic shock. But it wasn't as though the idea that there was a whole lot more to the Magical Girl schtick than what Kyubey had told her before. What she had seen from that one Girl four or five months back, just before that Witch with the blades appeared...

On second thought, perhaps there was a little bit of that latter response of catatonia. There was only the most minimal of spatial awareness around her as she turned and drifted towards the pizza laid out on the table, only a little bit more than the minimal of awareness at the new influx of characters that had apparently come to draw the attention of that one sunburnt girl with the weird grammar in the time her attention had been on The Cure. Her hand was hovering just over the slice when she registered that The Cure had allowed her more questions. Her mind went back to last night's meeting with Homura, and in particular one question she hadn't thought to ask her at the time.

<One question.> She looked up from the pizza and turned her head to look back in the direction of The Cure. <How did she know about all that? Like you said, he ain't exactly the forthcoming type.>

Sol and Elphelt, Ikebukuro Streets -> Celty and Shinra's Apartment

The way into the apartment building was thankfully non-eventful, although Elphelt did have to struggle her way down the incline ramp, what with her high heels (that she had no problem running and fighting in the past, ramps were just new). The duo listened to Celty's explanations the whole way in, with El lighting up at the mention of a great view. Talk of monster movies would have to wait, as a presence burst its way through the elevator doors as soon as they'd reached their destination.

Sol had drawn his sword in a haste, and El had taken aim with her pistol, and the two were left staring warily at a white coat smothering Celty and blabbering some weepy words.

By the time the situation had cleared itself up and Celty and Shinra were sharing a gentler embrace, the two were still pointing their weapons and looking rather flabbergasted, taking a second before they hurriedly sheathed their arms.

The young Valentine had realized what she was seeing going on between Celty and Shinra, and her eyes sparkled as she simply admired the love they had for each other. She almost forgot her manners entirely, though thankfully Sol was there to grasp her by the collar and drag her out of the elevator and into the apartment.

And as they stepped out of earshot, El felt comfortable enough to start a conversation with Sol.

"They're good together, aren't they?"

Sol grunted.

"And I care about this, why?"

"C'mon Sol, it's pure unfiltered romance! Can't you appreciate that? Don't tell me, you've never been in a relationship before, have you?"

"..."

"... Um... touchy subject?"

Sin and Ramlethal, City 17 / Balthier's Airship

Sin Kiske and Ramlethal Valentine had stepped onto the airship along with everyone else, the crowded space doing them no favors. Sin was awkwardly huddled against a wall with Ramlethal in front of him, preemptively preparing herself for the flight by putting her arms around Sin, supporting herself on the wall behind him.

Neither were aware of what this positioning looked like.

City 17, Airship

Minako took in the contents of the vessel she had stepped into with some surprise, not at the beautiful bunnywoman — she had frankly been expecting to see one of those on Battleworld at some point — but rather at the sight of two living, moving skeletons. Instead of being fearful at this Halloweenesque discovery, however, what The Fool felt was a tad giddy, her mood lifted significantly as she settled in tightly behind the bones in the hoodie and made room as she could for the various other people who had to crowd on board.

"So," she chirped to the crew at large after Alucard had rendered some notable form of advance payment, "what are the names of our saviors-for-hire?"

For her part, Aigis stood firmly against the wall, minimizing the space she took up while numerous unvoiced queries floated through her processor, such as how the bone-man could be talking if he lacked lungs, and whether the woman with rabbit features had two ears or four.

Mitakihara, Himaruya’s

The 'intruder' glanced briefly back at the alley's entrance. On one hand, it might be annoying to explain where she had gone if emergency services arrived in her absence. On the other hand, she could claim that she and Blue had been pursuing an arsonist, Pink and Tachibana would be safe as long as the firemen and ambulance arrived on time, and leaving the hellish vortex alone would probably mean losing the trail of whatever strangeness was going on with Blue forever.

On second thought, it was an easy choice.

Zeroing in on the suspicious white creature, C.C. suddenly swept forward and snatched it around the middle, then plunged headlong into the portal.

Mitakihara, K-Park

Although she had been listening attentively while Mami dropped hint after hint about the group dynamics among her friends, Mitsuru pursed her lips at the news of the fire, and returned the blonde's urgency with a serious nod.

"Which way is it?" was all she asked of the Magical Girl as she dropped into some quick leg stretches.

Chaldea - Cjeste Pyramid - This is Halloween!

"Likewise. How wonderful, perhaps after this tour is over we can reconvene then. Either in the mess. And yes, I've met Anubis a few times, though she rarely ventures out without a strong reason," Hiriko answered. "She prefers to keep to her pyramid and her milk baths rather than venture out, but I know the way well enough that I could take you to her throne room if you'd like to see more of my home."

"Don't worry, I always have protection," she added in response to her concerns. "If I were at great risk from lengthy exposure I'd put them down, but for now I think I can handle them just fine with my armor's environmental regulation." She stroked the kitten's head, playfully pressing her cheek against it for a moment.

"She is correct, it's just a short trip from here," she added to the Gargoyles. "A pity you must be leaving so soon, but maybe one day our paths will cross again."

City 17

"Hey, if you like throwing your coin away at anyone who asks, maybe I should stick around with you and your friend more often, huh?" Helen grinned at Weiss. "Never heard of a... credit card though. Can't be like a black card."

Deneve still waited by Sans and Papyrus... lookin' at 'em, and stuff.

Sakura Dungeon Garden -> HELL Dungeon Abyss Entrance

"Of course, Lady Succubus," the Nine Tails replied, holding her arm out with the elbow bent in case Morrigan wished to link her own together with it.

A quick trip to the inn's warp room to get transported to a warp sigil in the lowest levels of the dungeon later, the Nine Tails gestured to a large, ominous door. The essence of hellish energies emanated from it, growing stronger the further one went down the stairs.

In the depths, all sorts of succubi, goats, cows, mimics, demons with whips and chains, and miscellaneous wandering monsters lurked.

"This is where they reside. Anything like your own home?" the Nine Tails asked, smiling faintly.

Sakura Dungeon Arena

"Flying, that sounds useful," Ceri commented when Rose gave a brief overview of her talents.

"Oh, I'm not a monster, I'm a human!" she said helpfully to Yang. "But all the monsters here are women. Some look like humans, some have animal traits, some like using magic, some like using their muscles, and some like using both, but they have that in common at least. Nothing for miles but immortal, well-trained monster..." she gulped. "Women."

"Oh, kids? There aren't any. They're always the same age forever. I don't know how it works I think Yomi mentioned they just sort of... show up, when they're needed. Something to do with nature deciding?" she added nervously. "I never really though about... kids.... I don't think we could but... there's always adoption, I mean Maeve raised me like her own even though she's also... but... it's still kind of early, isn't it?"

She raised one hand and waved it as if trying to wave away the topic, and accompanied that with a nervous chuckle.

"Why are you even asking about kids? You're a kid you should be having fun and not worrying about these sorts of things."

Trevor, Meeting Room

Trevor frowned slightly. First, her idea about Amber having had Havoc steal the Vampire Killer was wrong. As the third delegate of Hell's Gate Tokyo stated, he was allied with the first delegate of Hell's Gate Tokyo, yes... But he had also been allied with the second delegate of Hell's Gate Tokyo who was Amber, and she was far too busy in other chunks once she had left the Common Room to give a damn about the Vampire Killer.

However, she then asked about Hei and the connection between him, Amber, and Havoc, which was something he felt he could answer.

"Explaining why Hei is one of my diverse band of allies would take far too long to do, but as for the connection between him, Havoc, and Amber, it depends on what you know about their connection already," Trevor sighed and shook his head. "What I am about to tell you is not to leave this room... For Hei's sake, not for Amber's or Havoc's. Understand?"

Sypha, Onboard the Strahl, City 17

"You heard him give his spiel in the Common Room," Sypha frowned as she looked down at Ruby. "Between that and his spiel on the Death Star which your friend Jaune was present for, that is all we know of his motives."

"But I do know he wants us to become what he thinks humanity is," Sypha put her hand on Ruby's shoulder, still frowning. "In my first encounter with him, Lady had separated from us and he ended up replacing her... and he began trying to nudge me towards how he views humanity while he posed as Lady."

"That is why I have been focused on finding a tell for him," Sypha turned away from Ruby. "It is easy to treat him as an enemy when he poses as an enemy, but it is a lot harder to do that when he poses as an ally and knows exactly how to convince you to do what he wants."

Carmilla, Onboard the Strahl, City 17

"Could you please not summon gun after gun in here?" Carmilla glared at Nobu when she decided to summon musket after musket. "There is barely enough room in here for us as there is without your magic guns crowding everyone out!"

"And I am not getting out and flying," Carmilla declared to Nobu before anyone could declare that solution. "If you have to shoot from inside the ship, just summon them as needed and toss them out the ship."

Morrigan, Dungeon Abyss Entrance

Morrigan took the Nine Tails' arms as they headed to the warp room and then to a large, ominous door. She seemed contemplative at the question the Nine Tails asked.

"It is kinda similar to Makai, yes," Morrigan nodded to the Nine Tails. "I can certainly feel the magic of a demon realm permeating through this place."

Hope's Peak Academy- Faculty Building Room

"Well, see, most of them haven't seen beyond the school grounds yet, so it's all kinda strange. Oh, how confused the students must be..."

Eventually, the group entered the facutly room. Beyond the cast who was already talking with the bear, there was a weak-looking boy, more plain woman in a suit, a burly man with a smiling expression on his face, a girl wearing a surgical mask, and a man in a bull mask. They, as well as the rest of the group, had silenced their talking as Fox and the kubs walked in, eyes strictly on the visitor.

"Ah... so this is that representive they were talking about..." The older man raised his voice. "Those cubs weren't giving you too much trouble, were they?"

Jin, Tsubaki, and Makoto- The Strahl in City 17

Makoto's support of Aegis changed to confusion once she saw what everyone else was seeing. However, she could probably assume one or two things that didn't particularly please her. Of course, eventually they took the airship offer. It was cramped, but hey, it was something.

"I can't promise anything considering the lack of resources we have at the moment, but we'll try to make it up in some way." Tsubaki said to the Captain.
Noel, Hazama, and Relius- NOL Office

"So, you wanted to see me, Captain Hazama?"

At this point, Noel and Hazama were in their Chunkless Room, with Relius going to check on something.

"Ah, yes, see, while the other three are dealing with City 17, Relius and I managed to get a request from a potential ally. They want us to do some reconnaissance work in three areas."

"Two."

Relius, at this point, had reentered the room.

"Come again?" Hazama responded

"The Fire Nation has disappeared. Now we have only Area 11 and the Underground to investigate."

"Well, that makes things a bit easier on us then."

"So, Captain, I presume you want me to assist investigating one of the areas?" Noel asked

"Ah, you're a bright one. Relius, do you mind working on your own for this one?"

"Not at all."

"Very well. Noel, you'll be with me investigating... Area 11, why not? Relius, can you head to the Underground?"

"I shall."

"Great to hear. Alright, everyone, let's move out. Let's try to get this done before the meeting time."

Larsa-Underground

Larsa turned to face the speaker, and then sheathed his sword, his face turning red in embarrassment.

"Oh, oh dear, forgive me my impudence." He said as he gave a short bow. "I am Larsa Ferrinas Solidor. I hail from the city of Archades, and me and my companion here suddenly slipped and fell into a hole near your mountain. I am terribly sorry to have disturbed you. I do hope I caused no damage to your home or property? Rest assured, I intend to make amends if I have."

City 17

Balthier took the sack of gold, giving it an appraising eye. "Ah, yes, this will do for now. As I said, we can discuss payment in full later, but a down payment, I never turn down."

He glanced backward at the small kid in the milltary outfit pulling stacks and stacks of guns from.....somewhere. He gave him a long look, and then leaned to whisper to Fran. "Make sure to keep an eye on that one, something about them makes me wary Fran wordlessly nodded at him.

"The windows don't go down, lad, so you'll have to make do standing on my exit ramp and shooting out the back. Should have plenty of targets, but you'll want to make sure you don't slip. It's a long fall, and don't count on me to catch you."

As the ship neared the top of the tower, Balthier raised a finger and pointed at Minako. "Ah, almost forgot, sorry. I'm Balthier, and this here is Fran."

"The air here is thick with a foul stench." She said, frowning. "We should not be here. Danger lurks here."

"We're only making a pit stop, no need to get your ears in a twist." He turned back to the room at large. "Right. I can guarantee you 5 minutes. If you're not finished your business by then, well, I'll be charging double."

Before anyone had a chance to argue, he came to the windows. The room was visible through them, and the heroes would be able to see Breen standing in front of his desk at a podium, giving an address to a group of a dozen elite overwatch commanders. At his side stood another overwatch trooper. As Balthier came to a halt, one of the men lifted his finger, pointing at the window. Something was said, and both Breen and his bodyguard turned to face it.

"Head's up, boys." Balthier quipped before he fired his guns. The bodyguard tackled Breen as Balthier fired, knocking both behind the safety of the podium and desk. Balthier's shots ended up blowing up not only the windows, but the wall between them as well, creating a sizable gap of entry. Balthier swung his ship around, the back now facing the gap.

"Time to go!"

The exit ramp lowered as he spun around, finishing as the gap came into view. As the first of the heroes jumped into the building, a few of the overwatch who were being given the speech gathered their wits, and started to lift their guns, firing on the first people to enter.

The Cure-Common Room

The Cure turned to face the newcomer. "Indeed I am. You may call me The Cure. Allow me to explain what is going on. You and your people are now on my world, the Battleworld. This world of my own making is a patchwork world, where I have brought chunks of lands from worlds across the multiverse together. Some lands where technology has evolved to levels you could not begin to comprehend, others lands where magic is the dominant force in the universe. Each land, different in their own way, with their own strengths and weaknesses. I have brought these lands together to war with each other for my own amusement."

"Your people are one of these lands. I do not demand you war with anyone in particular, ally with who you will, oppose who you will, it matters not to me. I do not even demand you actively invade others. For if you do not choose to become the aggressor, at some point, you will become the defender, and I will get what I want regardless. There are people of all colors, valiant heroes, evil villains, and everything inbetween here. I am sure you will find someone to fight at some point."

"Do as I ask, and at points I will offer you rewards, allow you to request whatever it is you may wish for, within limits. Be it the revival of a dead person, a new weapon, someone from your world that did not come with you. Nothing is beyond my reach. Refuse to play the game, and I will ensure your people pay the price."

As he said this, he mentally addressed Kyoko. Ah, yes, she diden't explain that, did she? Hmmmm..... He paused for a moment, considering this. That answer is not mine to give. The girl you know has many secrets, many things she keeps hidden from all, and it would not be fair to her to abuse the fact that I know everything about her to give her secrets freely to those she wishes to keep hidden from them the most.

But I will share with you this. There are other beings on this planet, of course, others who know her as well as I do, who would be more willing to share her secrets. Perhaps you have heard tell of the shapeshifter, Nyarlathotep, who has been driving conflict wherever he goes, who knows everything about anyone on this planet you care to name. No doubt he could give you that which you seek. But if you are not careful, he will use you, claim you, and destroy you without a thought. Beings of such power are not ones I would advise mortals trifle with. But in the end, the decision is up to you.
