St. Anne Discussion

This is the St. Anne discussion thread! We can discuss St. Anne here. I have a few announcements to make.

First off, as mentioned, St. Anne has dorms. Students are assigned to them based on gender in groups of 2-3. If you have a request for pairing your character with another, I'll take that into account. You can post here, or PM me. Otherwise, I'll randomly generate the groups.

Second, I need a Keybearer.

What does being a Keybearer mean?

-You get to bear the key!

-You might die horribly!

-You might have goats sacrificed to you while handsome shirtless men fan you with palm fronds and feed you grapes! (Probably not)

What does being Keybearer not mean?

-It doesn't make your character the main character.

-I may or may not tell you.

-You probably won't get any new powers.

-You might not be the only one.

-I may not choose anyone.

If you want to be a candidate for the Keybearer, message me or post here. Any character is eligible. The only criteria that I'll name here is that I'll give preference to people who I think are good writers, though there are many other factors.

Finally, I work weekends, which means I'll need a co-GM. Responsibilities will include moving the plot along while I'm not around, mostly. If you want to be co-GM, message me.

Also, I hope you'll excuse Marvin's... theatrical tendencies; they'll tone down quite a bit when he finally puts two and two together and figures out that a good deal of other students can actually use real magic.

Can I be keybearer? It sounds like it might fit Adrienne!

Am I allowed to have someone have a job, even though I didn't really say they had one in their sign-up?

Evil Paladin: I think I'm going to like Marvin.

Unsure of what to do with Allison yet. A mind-reading stall, maybe, but given that it's a magic school, nobody would be that impressed by it.

I'm all for random roommates, to make it seem more "realistic", I guess.

Also, Heroic Sociopath, is already written a guy telling Marvin he was cool to head up on stage. If you want me to edit that out that's fine. I just thought I'd do it because I introduced the Mage Soc stand.

The true illusion was Schroedinger's Mage Soc Guy.

@Musik Maestro, ah, sorry! It's fine. Sorry I missed that, I'm at work now. I edited him out. I'll just introduce Dockworker Mc Stone Arm later.

Hey, can I introduce a character or two in thread before I do write up their official bios?

Wouldn't that require posting as a character that had been unapproved by the GM? Unless you mean NP Cs like Ring Toss Girl and Stage Director Guy.

@Kkutwar, the main reason for S Us is to make sure their powers aren't too strong. If you just message me a brief summary of the character and their powers, it's fine. Just get the actual SU in within three days or so.

Also, how would you feel about Leo and Kirtis being dormmates? Kurtis is moe.

I'd volunteer for Keybearer, but I'm not sure if I'm a good enough writer.

One of the characters would be the marvelous dressed woman for the charity dating booth, Destiny Long, who is a Mage capable of making life. She can't make anything greater than her fairy humonculi yet, though she made seven by this point. The second would be one of her humonculi, this one named Shichi. She can fly, and feed on magical energy to sustain herself. Though she's very fragile so...

Regarding Kurt, I see no problem with that.

@Leliel, Isra and Adrienne aren't near each other. At least, they're not standing close enough to each other to count as a duo or anything.

Nah, I don't think you got anything wrong, just messed up where the characters were standing! Which is easy to do in this case.

I'm kinda clueless as to what to do with my characters already. I guess I'm bad at...'initiating'. I'm gonna stew this out for a bit.

They're self aware, and they could potentially develop abilities if they absorb a massive quantity of one particular magical essence. Ultimately however they're too weak to actually fight, instead serving as distractions and messengers. Admittedly this is because Destiny focused more on making them intelligent cuties instead of fighters.

Fair enough. They can't become mages, though. Only humans can. They can develop powers, but they can't be mages is all. Otherwise, you're fine.
