Opened.
I prefer the straight use. Even better would be the classic "His and Hers" towels.
Straight use works.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanThe straight example works best I think.
Although I can't help thinking of the Bugs Bunny cartoon which briefly displays two towels, one marked "his" and the other "hare's".
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMI actually prefer the tongue-in-cheek one. Especially since, according to the description itself, the trope is almost never played straight.
I prefer the bed one myself.
(Annoyed grunt)Either works.
Check out my fanfiction!for the straight version. The tongue-in-cheek one seems to make me feel sorry for the guys, to be honest.
she/her | TRS needs your help! | Contributor of Trope ReportThe tongue-in-cheek version works better, especially after reading the examples on the page. And as Adept said, the description mentions it is almost never used straight in fiction.
I kinda like the tongue-in-cheek one.
for 1.2.
EDIT: Nevermind I like 15 better.

For the sake of completeness, here's one example◊ of the classic "His and Hers" towels instead of pillows/bedsheets.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I think that's good, but a little cluttered at wiki-size.
Check out my fanfiction! How about these extremely corny towels? link◊

That one's witty but not too cluttered. I like it.
Absent-minded professor and Neverwinter Nights DMYeah, not bad at all.
Check out my fanfiction!I'm good with mustache towel.
Moon◊13's great.
I slightly prefer the bed, but if the overwhelming majority votes for the tacky towel, I'm not opposed.
RE: 15: Heh, I like that.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Another vote or two for the towels and we can rack them.

15.
(Annoyed grunt)I still prefer the bed one, but I can live with the tacky towel pic, so it has my weak .
Go for it.
We could either go for a straight use◊, or something more tongue-in-cheek◊.
