I really hope there is a second season for Himouto because the later manga chapters really does show how much Umaru has changed.
Honestly? I'm surprised people even like this show. Umaru is such a brat that I had to quit after the second episode because seeing the other characters suffer due to her was too much for me.
lol
This isn't even the worst of bratty.
That Terra Formars shout out had me rolling.
Tastes are a thing I suppose, cause Umaru is funny and likable despite being a slob and a brat, to me, and the first episode of Galilei Donna made me want to punch the fuck out of 2/3 of the titular characters for being absolutely stupid brats.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - Forzare@Shlugo: According to my dictionary, "kaki no tane" refers to either persimmon seeds (which is what the name literally means), or spicy baked/fried mochi chips of the same shape.
...neither one sounds particularly appetising combined with chocolate.
Give the God Eater game thread some love! That Taihei really loves Ebina('s kitchen. It just awed him so much).
Bomber, making assumptions is such a bad habit of yours.
Taihei and Kirie got a little closer.
More bonding between UMR and TSF. Hm, I wonder what will happen when UMR reveals her true identify to Slyphy. Even more good things, I bet.
Today's case: Turnabout Pudding. Pudding enthusiasts will most definitely agree with that "Pudding is the tops!" statement. Also, Tahei Naruhodo and a two-second Monomaru.
You know, I never really get the "refuses to eat green bell peppers" bits in anime. Green peppers are like, pretty boring as a vegetable. Even more meh cooked.
Now broccoli on the other hand, the most deadly of vegetables...
Green peppers are basically the Japanese cultural equivalent of broccoli.
Y'all can go die in a fire. Broccoli is love. Broccoli is life.
OH GOD WHY AM I A CAR!? - ForzareI like peppers more than broccoli.
Kanau, Bomber, and Taihei together are cute.
This episode really spent a lot of time how much Umaru cares for her brother.
It seems that being The Ace runs in the family. Kanau has a good eye for men.
I wonder when they explain why did the siblings move from luxurious Highrise to one bedroom apartment downtown.
Has the manga said anything that?
What I gleamed was that their father is a rich man like Kanau's. So I'm guessing a falling out or Taihei wanting to be independent?
Not much is explained, and what little we know is spread out all over the manga, and more often implied than stated outright. We know that Taihei and Umaru come from rich family, but it's not explained why Taihei moved into such a tiny apartment or why did Umaru come to live with him. The most we know is that Someone asked Alex to check out on Umaru. But that was shown many chapters ago and wasn't brought again since.
There are hints that there is some crazy back story behind the situation, but nothing much in way of facts.
So much ice cream was eaten this episode and I think a decent amount of those ice cream scenes were in separate chapters of the manga.

Gendou prop hands need to be a thing.
The title refers to himono-onna, but I don't think Umaru acts the part (probably except the Cola which is a G-rated beer). I'd watch it more carefully after I'm done with Dandelion.
Scientia et Libertas | Per Aspera ad Astra NovaTaihei looks ominous while planning to... teach Umaru how delicious Japanese cooking is. Still no matter what he tries, Umaru gets what she wants in the end, and more.
Gendo hands, order one, get one free!
I like how one of the Umaru council is actually outdoor Umaru.
Umaru thinks of Taihei and does nice things for him. What a good little sister.
Umaru is also excellent friend.
Umaru loves icecream. Like really loves it.
Wait Taihei, you are giving your end of season summation an episode too early.
Been watching this, and there's only 12 episodes this season? I'm kind of surprised they decided to only make 12 when there's over a hundred chapters out.
Each episode goes through 3-4 chapters tho.
Haven't got around to see this series, but the premise sounds similar to His and Her Circumstances, AKA perfect girl with high grades turns into a lazy slob at home. Are there other similarities by the way?
The Troper formerly known as Daddy MulkFinal episode out. I have to say, I picked up Umaru since I found the premise interesting, but fully expected it to be a bit disappointing. Nope, enjoyed all of it. The comedy (Umaru's vivid fantasies, all of Sylphyn, that car salesman), the laid-back atmosphere, even Umaru herself since I'm sure Umaru has proven she has more good points than bad.

Oh Bomber and Kirie.
At least the four girls got to play together.
Bomber you idiot.
Hilariously enough, the latest manga chapter has Kirie and Bomber together at Umaru's house and they argue about this incident. I'm not convinced that the timing wasn't intentional.
Good episode, though the previous one felt more like the finale than this.
I'll be waiting for the next season, which will hopefully come soon.
In new chapter, UMR-san visits Sylphie house, where she finds out that they have more in common than she though. Sylphie also wants to play a Pocky Game... oh my.
Episode 9 is out:
Umaru really is a nice girl. She even saved Kirie from embarrassment when she fell down and scattered the cookies.
Taihei shoving Ebina to the side to admire her kitchen was hilarious. And what the heel did Umaru even put in her chocolate.
Sylphie really looks up to her brother. Also there was a ton of shout outs in that segment.
Good episode, got my weekly dose of hilarity.
