Voted, though I'm not sure why Superman (which is a duplicate with Internal Homage) and Vanity Fair (which does not show the trope) are even options.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"It's not a duplicate if more than half the image is different.
Check out my fanfiction! The Superman isn't a duplicate.
^^ Even when the margin is a mere 5% of the image? That seems unnecessarily pedantic when we have other and better options available.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"You're saying that as if 50% is the exact limit for what constitutes a duplicate. It's not even close to that. We're not taking about a subtly different shot of the same scene, or a different crop. We're talking about half the image being an entirely different one, and that difference is what makes the entire trope. It's the pot calling the kettle light grey.

Check out my fanfiction!I do not know the exact minutiae/criteria for what constitutes a duplicate; that's why I'm asking you. However, even then it would certainly be vastly preferable to use an entirely different image for a closely related trope when those other options are readily available, but that's for the voting to decide.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Crowner attached.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanTo get back to what I pointed out in 49/53, why are we actually voting on the Vanity Fair/Seth Rogen image? It does not show the trope because it simply does not fit the definition. It's an exact duplicate of the scene from North By Northwest for parodic/comedic effect, which according to the trope page is not what the trope is about. This is about subtly inserting shots that reference another work obliquely by mimicing the composition (e.g. Titanic/A Night to Remember, North by Northwest/James Bond, Triumph of the Will/Star Wars). Am I mistaken here? Nobody's made any argument why the magazine photograph is anymore this trope than these two examples◊ I brought up for illustration.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"I agree.
Monday votes bump; three in the green, one in consensus range.
This looks safe to call. Can someone please upload and add the winner? Thanks in advance.
Caption or no?
It's added, tagged, and sourced.
Since it's from two different sources, I think a caption should mention where they're from in lieue of an image pothole.

You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Good idea.
That black border needs to be scrubbed.
I'm thinking maybe: "They are saying everyone on the Titanic should put on their life vests? I'm sure it's just a precaution."

The new pic needs to be added to the page as an example.
It's been listed.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"Cool. We don't have any consensus on a caption, so let's lock up. I've tweaked the example to note that it's the image.
Crown Description:
Nominations for replacement images:
I know that's referencing a famous M.C. Escher sketch, but its doesn't mean much on its own.
