In the story I'm working on I have a pair of magical girl twins who pull a Red Oni, Blue Oni character dynamic off on each other, but I have two major problems.

one: I can't pick a set of Meaningful Name for them,

two: one of them is Korean, the other Mexican, they met almost by accident during a vacation to the same US city.

If your wondering why they even bothering to be a team, there magical girl transformation works via Wonder Twin Powers so in order to transform they both need to be at least arms distance from each other, so they have to work together to have powers.

The issue is, while I can pick a name for one or the other I'm having trouble picking a pair of complimentary Meaningful Names for Korean AND Spanish.

So any advice? I'm currently cruising though some name data bases but that feels rather hit and miss and a bit of direction would be much complimentary.

If it helps to know who's are Red and Blue Oni, I've always thought in my head, quite likely due to some kind of osmosis from the Spicy Latina trope, the Mexican part of that paring to be the Red Oni and the Korean part to be blue.

As a twin: Don't bother with "matching" names, especially if they're not literally twins and from different cultures.

It's very common, and I myself have a matching name with my twin (both of our names start with J), but the story itself isn't going to suffer unless you want to hammer in twin stereotypes.

Yes, exactly what Sharysa said.

You have people from different cultures, with completely different languages and naming traditions. Trying to match names would be an exercise in futility, and forcibly matching names would most likely be a proof of the writer's stupidity and/or arrogance.

Heck, do they even speak the same language at all? Because as far as I know, most young people in eastern Asia don't speak English nor any other European language, not really, and someone from Mexico would have no business learning Korean (English, maybe, Korean, nay)

So really, just give up on the idea. If you really need that later in the story then simply have them give each other nicknames later and have those be that way in whatever language those nicknames happen to be. But, and I say it again, give up on this idea.

ya your likely right. now that you point it out, it does seem stupid to try and get a set of meaningful names. This idea seemed good in my head since it since a pair of, "fate matched people with one soul between them" sounded like a place for name symbolism in my head, but now you point it out? not so much.

as for Kazeto side question about communication? well there's are a reason the two of them are training in America, and are assigned to one amounts to a Special needs school for super heroes since on top of all the super power figuring out, they need crash courses in English to serve as a "go between" language.

So ya, Meaningful names for these two I guess I'll put that on in poorly thought out idea bucket and leave it there.

Thanks for helping me realign my ruder and stopping me from doing something pretentious.
