Getting a little eager there, huh Booky? Before I officially accept you, though, I'd just like to make sure your sign-up's consistent. Could you just tweak the backstory, so that the powers and getting unearthed in the present get a mention?

Hey, Liz, did you mean comical as in hilarious or comical as in from-the-comics with the police department's weaponry? It isn't going to change my response, but it might affect others.

The latter. I was imagining one of those ray guns from old campy sci-fi cartoons.

By the way, here's a link to the Discussion Thread. Sorry if I didn't send it to you already.

Okay, thank you! Sorry about that.

@Booky's latest draft

Well, I might say that the Kree hadn't got quite used to the time difference between planets, hence the capsules only being ready to go in the present day, and I may or may not have the rest of the canisters on board too... But apart from that, I'd say it works. You've probably been at the drawing board long enough, so I'll just say Accepted, and let you on through.

Submission! So I know this character's been in play like twice already, but I did contact the relevant parties before writing, so hopefully that's fine. Also I'm probably going to be making fussy edits for the next week.

Now without further ado:

Name: Loki//Ken Laufeysen/uncountable aliases

Real Name: Loki Liesmith, Odinson, Laufeyson, Selfæta

Gender: Male/Female

Age: How old are the Aesir? Old as balls

Appearance: Loki has taken many forms of the years, but the current favourite is a handsome, red-headed young man or woman in their late 20s. While Loki's left eye is an intense green, the right is a dull hazel speckled with grey, and the pupil is blown.

Alignment: “Please, alignment? A security blanket for fools and ideologues.”

Personality: Loki is a schemer at heart. She almost always has some plan or other running in the background, some hidden motive for her actions. She delights in being unpredictable. As such it’s somewhat difficult to tell just how selfish she is - certainly she can be altruistic, helpful and even caring, but has been known to shift into malevolence, cruelty and sadism. And neither is necessarily the real Loki.
The only constants are the trickster goddess’ somewhat cruel sense of humour and sense of the theatrical. And vanity. Loki is incredibly sure of her own brilliance and can overlook or underestimate obstacles as a result.
Personally charming, Loki is quick-witted and a good public speaker. She does not, however, deal well with personal insults and can be very petty.
Loki adores stories. Telling them, hearing them, breaking them down, stories are a subject Loki is endlessly talkative about.

Powers and Abilities:

  • Aesir: Loki is stronger than a mere mortal and all but immune to diseases and ageing. It’s handy.
  • Liesmith: Loki is a habitual liar and very, very good at it. His silvered tongue, while not magically compelling is practiced enough that he can weave even the most ridiculous stories into a convincing sequence of events. He lies best to computers - machines are very stupid in his experience and he can run rings around most security systems.
  • Illusionist: Loki is well versed in magic and spellcraft, but she prides herself in her illusions best. She can create incredibly realistic sensory illusions that can be seen, heard, touched and even smelt as if they were the real thing. Only the most powerful of sorcerers can see through these phantasms. Loki has a handful of illusion spells cast on herself at all times, she hasn’t seen her true face in years.
  • Jotun Blood: a descendant of the Jotun people, Loki possess their hardy biology. He is all but immune to extreme temperatures and far stronger than a mortal man. Yes on both sides of the family. No this does not stack. He learned this from Thor very quickly.
  • Allspeak: growing up in Asgard, Loki learnt Allspeak, the double-minded language of living beings. She understands and can speak a vast number of languages (possibly all of them), including speaking with animals.
  • Shapeshifter: The Jotun are well known to change their shape. It’s not true Loki can take any shape, just the ones that are still him. That simply covers a number of forms. Beyond casual shifts in physical gender characteristics, Loki is known to shift into magpies, horses and flies.
  • Trickster: Loki is incredibly cunning. She’s quick off the mark, physically and mentally and possesses a good deal of less-than-honest skills - sleight of hand, lockpicking, acrobatics, she is an able thief and a canny con-artist. Most mortal restraints won’t hold her for long, and given time and equipment she can work her way through more powerful security systems too.
  • Stomach Ulcers: After recent events Loki has a jewel called Kvidrargr sewn into her stomach lining that renders her invisible to Heimdall’s vision (and with sustained effort, other detection systems) - effectively dead as far as Asgard is concerned. Unfortunately the operation has left her stomach almost constantly plagued with ulcers, occasionally leaving her coughing up blood or writhing on the floor in pain. A small price to pay in her eyes.

    Weapons and Equipment:
  • Gram: Loki currently possess Gram, the magic sword of truth which he plucked from skeletal fingers at the heart of a barrow in Norway. To suffer it is to face all the truths you deny yourself. It always hurts, sometimes it kills. Unfortunately for Loki, blades cut both ways. Every time his sword strikes true, there’s a pang, a feeling of discomfort as his own lies are brought to mind. Recent half-truths sting physically and the sword hums at his side as he speaks.
  • Coat: It’s comfortable and well made. Good tailoring is hard to come by! Also it’s an Asgardian cosmos-walker coat - allowing Loki to fly if the mood takes him, as well as having a hood that folds over the face forming an environmental seal. The coat is worn and a bit ratty at this point and most certainly an outdated model, but regular illusions maintain it as a fashion item to die for.
  • Knick Knacks: Loki’s recent long con was fairly profitable - in addition to Kvidrargr, she disappeared with a few choice items from HIVE’s stockrooms. A laser pen here, a grappling hook there, it all builds up into a tidy little stockpile of useful things. Apart from that weird ceramic desk ornament, but that was pilfered on a whim really.

        Origin
Loki has been and done many things over the years, his stories are woven across the multiverse. So many lies and falsehoods surround his past that even he is uncertain of which stories are true these days. On Earth he is an ancient god, from cultures long past. In Asgard he is the Liesmith, a treacherous fallen scion and the lowest of Odin’s three sons. To the Jotun hierarchy he is Selfæta, Cannibal, a race traitor of the highest order. He’s been called a villain, a hero, a monster.

Loki Laufeyson is all these things and none of them. Born amongst the Jotun but taken near birth by the Allfather, Loki grew up in the palaces of high Asgard. His brothers, Thor and Balder was constant companions on a great many adventures.

He was always sly and a schemer, if an insecure and skittish one. Even the highest of praise from the Allfather could never quite shake Loki’s feelings that he wasn’t entirely wanted or trusted. That the Aesir themselves didn’t seem to like him at all (especially compared to headstrong Thor and beautiful Balder) certainly didn’t help.

He gained the name Liesmith early in his adulthood for his cunning mind and honeyed words, and the title of Cannibal from the Jotun because of his actions in the many wars Asgard fought. Whilst he had always seemed on equal footing with his brothers and (the way he tells it) a favourite to inherit the throne, learning his true heritage planted a seed of doubt in Loki’s mind that never left.

He began to see himself as apart from Asgard - his skills and his strengths were not the strengths Asgard valued and, while the Allfather was an able sorcerer, his own magic was suspicious and his words untrustworthy. The more he thought about it, the more the idea seemed self-fulfilling. Loki had always toyed with his fellow Asgardians - his manipulations had often been well intentioned but as doubt arrived so too did darkness.

It all fell apart with the death of Balder, centuries ago now. Some say he had to die - that his impenetrable powered armour had driven him mad. Others say he was killed out of jealousy or spite. Loki has told both as absolute truth, and more possibilities besides. He doesn’t know what’s true anymore. He only knows that he was responsible. Blind Hod was his tool certainly, but Balder’s death was inarguably his work.

The Allfather would hardly have placed him in the secret Asgardian prison of Kaeragrof with a serpent acid drip and stitched lips for years if he hadn’t done it. He escaped - of course he escaped - but he forsook his home doing so. He refused to return to Asgard and Jotunheimr would never accept him. His birthright sword Laevateinn is rusting in some store room.

Details past this point of Loki’s life are sketchy - he doesn’t dwell on them and he hides the truth from those that try to find it. He escaped certainly, and by this point his hatred of Asgard was sealed. Regardless of what came next, whether he was hero or villain, he would always be an enemy of the Aesir.

He has roamed the galaxy causing chaos since, revelling in his role as master of lies and god of mischief. There have been times when he’s posed as a redeemed soul, so convincing that he’s on occasion tricked himself.

Most recently he’s spent time on Earth in a number of guises - for a time acting the saviour or, as he put it himself, the true Loki the myths got wrong. Even more recently he’s been a brigand, working for the organisation HIVE as a free agent of chaos. It was during his work for HIVE that he came across Thor, banished to Earth and no longer worthy of Mjolnir. Rather than face his brother and by extension Asgard, Loki settled upon a trap that rendered Thor an amnesiac in Kansas, scrabbling away at dirt for a living with nothing but a mysterious Asgardian stone Loki found for company. The HIVE partnership is no longer beneficial, Loki got what he needed - a device to confound Asgard. For the first time in years, Loki is truly hidden from his abandoned homeworld. What he’ll do with this freedom is anyone’s guess.

Thor Profile::

Name: Thor Odinson

Real Name: Thor Odinson (No distinction from Civilian and Hero identities)

Gender: Male

Age: Very Old. He seems to be in his late 20s

Appearance: Thor

Alignment: Good - Aligned Asgard/Midgard

Personality: Thor is noble and straightforward. Sometimes blunt and occasionally bull-headed perhaps all of the temper and recklessness from his adolescence has not faded but to his friends Thor is hospitable, convivial and noble. An earnest ally and a steadfast companion. At times it is clear he operates on a different order of things to Mortals, his eyes seem to see farther, his thoughts stretch towards Ragnarok rather than next Thursday, his concerns are not those of mortal men though he does seem to try and remember that very often those are the concerns of those who surround him. To his enemies the storm of his temper is not to be underestimated in battle he rarely finds his equal and he is not unfamiliar with the white-hot blood tang of the Berserker rage. To move against Asgard is to move against Thor. To move against Thor is to move against Mjolnir.

To move against Mjolnir is profoundly unwise.

Powers and Abilities: Unaided, Thor is a powerful warrior even by Asgardian's Aesir standards; Thanks to his mother the Jotun Jord's blood he may one day find himself more powerful even than his father Odin. Immune to mortal disease, of superior endurance with skin and bone several times denser than a human being and with a metabolism far greater than the same. When he succumbs to the rage of the Berserker Thor may be able to increase his physical strength still further at the cost of his reason. The All-Tongue - A language that every person who hears it, hears as their mother tongue. Through his unique bond with the hammer Mjolnir, Thor is able to find his power as the God of Thunder. Through her he becomes a conduit for thunder and lightning and can summon storms. With her help he can fly and may even be able to channel his energies into draining but devastating blasts of the 'anti-force'

Weapons and Equipment: Mjolnir - Molded in the core of a star, a powerful, almost indestructable weapon of Asgard. Forged for him at Odin's request Mjolnir is one of the Aesir's most formidable weapons. She seems to be almost sentient and chooses her wielder carefully from only those who are truly worthy. Her uses seem almost endless, but most often she aids Thor in his role as the God of Thunder.

Meigingjord - A belt. At times worn to aid him as he fights, it doubles his already formidable strength.

Singesteinn: An amulet he found hanging on a fence on the farm. The old leather thong it’s strung on is weathered enough to suggest it’s long passed out of its previous owners’ thoughts. Or at least whilst Thor was wearing it nobody has come looking for it. It’s about the size of a chestnut and though it looks like a rock it floats quite happily. It sits comfortably against his collarbone and when he watches the gathering storm over Kansas’ fields he can almost believe he hears it humming.

Origin: Midgard born, son of Odin and Jord he was raised in Asgard by Frigga alongside his brothers Loki and Baldur – three princes of Asgard and darlings of the palace all. They grew up close, being around the same age, with their Thor’s reckless disregard, Loki’s skill at plans and Baldur’s willingness to provide a distraction there was rarely a storeroom unplundered, a tree unclimbed or a branch of the palace unexplored. From games of warriors and legends to daring heists and raids on the orchards there wasn’t anything they couldn’t think of to get in trouble.

As they grew he and his brothers followed different avenues of study Thor became a powerful warrior, headstrong and proud. Although Odin named Loki as the heir to the throne of Asgard it was Thor that the people loved more; Thor was a true Asgardian warrior who knew no tricks or carefully woven lies and cajolings. In him they saw more honour than in his Brother the Liesmith. Thor's lust for glory did not extend to the Throne. He was far more content to be Asgard's champion and it seemed certain that Thor would be the rock of power on which Loki’s rule of Asgard would stand.

However in his pride, an incident on a diplomatic mission to Jotunheim spiraled quickly out of control and in the confusion surrounding Baldur’s death at the hand of Hodir (Apparently with Loki’s express aid) Thor found himself exiled to Midgard with barely a word as he arrived back to Asgard with demands for blood money on his heels.

Suddenly the succession was thrown to the wind, with no indication Loki would be restored as heir it was Thor who looked set for the throne, provided he served out his period of exile with good grace. However with Thor feeling slighted and bitter at his treatment as he was forced to reside on Midgard, Mjolnir turned away from him and Thor found himself almost entirely powerless.

Recent History: Barely had Loki set foot on Midgard that he had tricked Thor into a state of amnesia, using the . Thor found himself working for the Kent family as a farm hand. With Mjolnir in the hands of Donald Blake and his memories gone Thor was content to live as he was amongst Kansas’ endless fields.

Several months pass, the prince in exile is not forgotten; the ravens on the fence posts are watching more than the carrion. It's Odin's choice to undo what Loki wrought because Thor cannot learn a lesson if he does not remember being taught it in the first place.

@Slendid: Great take on Loki! I specially like the sword and the stomach ulcers things. My only remark would be that it that no mention of Loki's role in Ragnarok is made (Balder's death was supposed to start that) but no biggie.

...Btw, am I the only one whose Tv Tropes page is weirdly stretched out from the Thor post down to the bottom? O_o

If it's any reassurance, Ud, Slendid thought they were called Daryun for the duration of our PM negotiation.tongue Besides, they have a completely different style and tone in their signups, so any sockpuppeteering is doubtful.

Well, I just hope it passes by the next page. Also, Legend, it is the same Thor here, for all intents and purposes. Different writer, different interpretation. You can imagine him looking however you like, though.

Now, with that out of the way, I see no real issue with the signups (Except that Origin, Slendid: I think maybe you forgot to put it inside the folder.tongue) Therefore, by the authority vested in me by myself, I hereby declare these signups Double Accepted!

...on the same note, um...Sijo? Maybe it would be best if you did GM the 'arresting Surfer' scene, after all. I can't in good conscience allow myself to continue neglecting the Cosmic thread.

Apparently my talent for chaos is extending onto the internet now. I have no idea what I've done to make it stretch like that... seems I'm making a bad first impression ; w ;

The picture is really just a place holder until I can draw another with a more definitive re-design, Really all I was told is that he was strawberry blonde.
