Hello! You did a good job with your suggestion, but I think the impression it gives doesn't exactly fit, since the person only got one question wrong on the test. That he answered with...whatever those are...gives me an impression of Cloudcuckoolander rather than this trope.

Ah, if that's the case, I'll have to either find a better example of bad schoolwork, or try with another source.
Unless the bottom one can be used for Cloudcuckoolander, which I kind of doubt it can.
A B is not considered a bad score by most standards, so I'm not keen on the suggestion. Might work for The B Grade though, given how sad the guy is at getting such a grade.
Yeah, The B Grade is a better place for that image.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanUsagi from Sailor Moon? [1]
That might work, but preferably there should also be a display of competence elsewhere.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"While I know Bruce Banner most definitely doesn't qualify but what about The Hulk? [1]◊
the image below is not bad.
That's the best so far.
I don't see how that says much (if anything) about the trope.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The very fact that he failed the test so badly he actually got 0%? It's actually not a very common grade to get unless one completely misses out the test.
The trope isn't about a complete moron. It's about someone who seems at least average normally, but does horribly on tests. Those suggestions just show one part of the trope, missing out on the arguably more important part.
Check out my fanfiction! The problem is that it only covers half the trope though. "Book Dumb" isn't just "Character gets crappy grades", it's more "character gets crappy grades but is perfectly intelligent in other aspects of life". That picture doesn't really cover the second half at all and just makes the character look like an idiot. The point of the trope is that it's about somebody who's way more intelligent than their grades would indicate.

Reaction Image RepositoryClock is set.
Re-clocking. Any objections to putting the OP suggestion on The B Grade?
None from me.
Check out my fanfiction! Not at all.
(Annoyed grunt)^^^ Sounds good.
You've got roaming bands of armed, aggressive, tyrannical plumbers coming to your door, saying "Use our service, or else!"No objections from me.
I don't understand all the support for putting that picture on The B Grade. The B Grade is about a character over-reacting to a not-quite-perfect mark. The image just shows a smart person getting a B, with no reaction.
^ This.
Hold on...I just realized what he's doing in the first panel. With that, I'm going to change my mind and the OP for The B Grade unless someone can find a panel of his reaction to the B if he does fit the trope.
Clock's up; locking up.
Hi, I'm kind of new to TV Tropes, so I'm still figuring stuff out and all. Well, let's give it a shot.
The trope stated is imageless; I made this image that should illustrate the trope decently, if not well. It might need to be resized smaller, but I'm putting the full size version up just in case.
