Sky's regular schedule was interrupted apparently lol. There's one in Saturday, then another on Sunday! LOL
Of course, I watched the ep first before continuing reading the two latest chapters.
Can hardly wait for Clementine's WTF face. lol
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Kind of like Hellsing, then, except Momonga doesn't even do the "let them think they tore me to shreds so that, when I easily come back and devour them, they shit themselves in terror" routine Alucard is so fond of?
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Yeah, pretty much. Heck, the last translated book chapter pretty much did the same — set up a group of bad guys that were supposedly as strong or stronger than the most powerful level of Adventurer introduced so far (Adamantine), only for them to be destroyed in TWENTY SECONDS by Sebas.
And it only took that long because he was expecting better.
The translation for the next special was released and it is mildly disturbing.
Honestly this is obvious setup. Don't most fantasy epics start with the Evil Overlord already in power or feared throughout the land with an iron grip on the population all around? Then shows up the hero who journeys through an unprecedented tail of hardships with fellow heroes to join him on his quest. Though wouldn't it be fun for the future player character that Ainz is eventually gonna face be a total noob? It certainly be ironic.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
Which would have made sense, again, in any other story. Overlord, however, is already nine books in, and Nazarick hasn't seen ANY worthy opposition since Shalltear went rogue, back in book 3. It's just curbstomp, curbstomp, curbstomp, curbstomp... And the pain train ain't stopping soon.
Thats cause Ainz still isnt a true "Overlord" yet. Hes already conquered a city, once he totals the continent then the hero will arrive as how most fantasy epics go
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."I put fifty jermabucks on that hero being a player from Yggdrasil
Exactly its all foreshadowed. Hell even in the beginning it was mentioned that of the 41 members only Ainz, Herohero & 2 others logged on. Herohero logged out before but we know nothing bout those 2 other players & hell theirs apparently a 42nd member of the guild. Another would be other guilds, I'm pretty other players had the same attachment to the game like Ainz especially whoever s the number one guild in the game.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."No those 4 Members were the only ones who were still part of the Guild. Hero Hero was the only one other then Ainz that logged on at the time.
Really? Well still theres something their since the same effect could have been gained with just Herohero so something's up
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Haven't read much of the L Ns, but IIRC Yggdrasil players show up in small numbers every few hundred years, but none of them were undead like Momonga, so it's implied that he'll still be around the next time it happens and will be a proper Evil Overlord by then. Whether the series will actually include a Time Skip to depict this is another question entirely.

Well the ending of vol 9 implies something indicating a time-skip & really so that means that there were 3 player characters instead of 2. Could you state where you obtained this information?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."The Overlord wiki has pretty detailed summaries of the untranslated novels.

Ah makes sense
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."
No, there were definitely two, and what's more, they weren't any higher than level 60. Evileye-Landfall was NOT a player character, but a native who was able to get to that level of power.
Right when I heard undead I assumed undead like Ainz Landfall was out of my mind at the moment
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."So I just thought of an interesting idea of where this series could go & its rather sad. Considering its shown Ainz is slowly losing his humanity due to his inability to just say no to the Guardians combined with his increasing reprehensible acts volume 7 being the most noteworthy example, he truly is becoming his character. Now combined with the end of volume 9 indicating a time-skip & that apparently 100 years or so new players arrive 2 things will happen. This player/s will meet Ainz & realize hes from Earth & call him out for becoming a monster being ashamed & horrified of his actions. His reaction will either be ignore his claims truly showing he is no longer human or completely break down realizing that he has become a horrible person & realize that even if he ever found his old guild-mates they would simply be ashamed & disgusted with him. While this is all speculation ya gotta admit there are some signs that the story is heading this way since Ainz is really getting into his role as Overlord. Pretty sad right?

"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Who wants to give Uncle Momon a hug? ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I dunno, he seems happier giving hugs than receiving them.
Joking aside, it's a shame to see Clementine go considering that she was pretty much the most entertaining character in the show by a league. Mostly because her VA went full roast ham dinner on it.
Don't get too attached to non-Nazarick characters, especially if they actively go against those from Nazarick in the first place...
I'm reading this because it's interesting. I think. Whiskey, Tango, Foxtrot, over.Yeah, i know. I'm following the fan translations as they're released.
Seriously, when the premise centers around the fact that the main character and his cohorts are so overpowered (to the point that people reading the English translation at skythewood.blogspot.sg call it Curb-Stomp Battle: The Series) compared to the new world he finds himself in, it's best to readjust one's expectations very VERY quickly.
As I said elsewhere, in other series, the draw is how the underdog hero surmounts impossible odds to win against his dangerous enemies or challenges.
In Over Lord though? It's how smug antagonists realize just HOW out of their league they are compared to Momonga and Nazarick.
