Teen Titans Go! Thread #2

Talk about your perfectly timed screen caps....^note  Okay, maybe Pan did that on purpose, though, but still the look on the fat kid's face is perfect.

That was this past weekend, wasn't it? Or is it something that's still coming up? If it's the latter, then I know which channel I'm not going to be watching whenever day that is.

I couldn't like that fast enough! XD

Seriously, this show needs more appearances from Control Freak. Aside from being the closest thing this show has as an villain, he's actually pretty funny.

Something that baffles me is that they're doing another episode focused on Beast Boy's birthday.

I mean, there are 5 Titans. And they have birthdays too. I would bet this time around they wouldn't be as callous as last time, but then again, given the track record...

It'd be a neat gag if Cyborg insisted he has two birthdays, his 'human' birthday and 'robotization' birthday, and thus insisted on being given twice the gifts every year.

I'd imagine the birthdays for other characters to be like this.

Robin: Kind of boring.

Starfire: On my planet, on my planet, repeated ad nauseam about her traditions.

Raven: I'm not sure about her. Maybe quiet and mellow with some tea?

Cyborg: A party with some electronic/dubstep dance music playing. Also, lots of fancy hi-tech equipment for the party.

Silkie: A recollection of how Silkie was found in the first place in that episode of the original show. Followed by realizing why that recollection was a bad idea.

Robin's birthday: Pieces of cake keep disappearing every time anyone looks away, no one can find why. The Titans spend the whole episode fretting over it, at the end we (not them) can see Batman's been ninja'ing the cake away and now is sharing it with Gordon over dumb chuckling.

My theory on Robin's birthday is that he'll do something along the lines of this◊ to whomever "ruins" it by proposing something that's actually fun instead of sticking to his somewhat unrealistic schedule.

Here's what I think each of the Titans birthdays be like:

• Robin: Remember that episode of Spongebob when he threw that party? Same thing times eleven.
• Raven: I don't think she would celebrate her birthday. Especially with the minor fact that she is a child of rape to a demonic entity who seeks to use her for world domination ala Mortal Kombat 3.
• Starfire: Don't know what's a birthday, but will most likely celebrate something similar to it . . . which will most likely be barberic as hell and completely lethal compare to a normal one.
• Cyborg: Yeah he will definitely have two birthdays for his birth and robotization. Though for his second birthday, it's best not to bring in his father; Cyborg has some massive daddy issues, and he is kind of pissed about being made into a metal freak.

You know, instead of theorizing for the shows Titans birthdays let's do it for all the comic Titans.

• Aqualad: His parties usually have a singing crab from a Disney movie. The one who doesn't sing like David Bowie.
• Wonder Girl: Cries in a corner questioning who she is and where she comes from and when the hell is her birthday. Retcons are a bitch for Donna.
• Kid Flash: Probably have the most normal birthday in the team . . . ignoring the large quantity of food of course.
• Speedy: Drugs. Drugs, everywhere . . . yeah I'm an asshole.
• Lilith: Ever been to Woodstock fully baked? Exactly like that.
• Hawk & Dove: Being twins they share the same birthdays. Also being twins (not to mention their gimmick of War and Peace and being constantly at odds) their parties are two completely things.
• Mal/Guardian/Vox: Pretty normal. Moving on.
• Bumblebee: Also pretty normal. Moving on.
• Duela Dent: Same as Wonder Girl's, except people will chalk that down as her being crazy (she is the Joker's Daughter after all).
• Gnaark: He's a cave boy, he does not know what the fuck his birthday is.
• Jericho: Also pretty normal. As long as the only family member invited to the party is his younger sister Rose. I don't think any of the Titans forgive his father for the many shit he done to the team in the past. Which reminds me . . .
• Deathstroke: Yeah he's a Titan. So what's his parties like? Pretty empty really. Yeah he's kind of a dick to everyone to the point that not even his own family will attend his birthday. Kind of sad really, especially compare to his more popular younger brother Wade who got even the Avengers to attend somehow.
• Kole: Who I wish could describe what her parties like if she wasn't made just to die in the Crisis.
• Jason Todd: Cries on the inside as both and refuse to celebrate his birthday as it's a reminder that none of his parents want him . . . wow that depressed me a lot. Thought I was being funny, but instead now I feel like a bigger ass. Than again, I never called him "Re-Todded" so I'm not that big of an ass.
• Tim Drake: No birthdays. He is busy with a case with Batman . . . which might as well count as a party for him knowing how much he enjoys being Robin.
• Superboy: Kind of awkward knowing who his two dads are.
• Impulse: Weird future celebration. Nuff said.
• Cassandra Sandsmark: Same as Robin except times 100 . . . that is if this Wonder Girl is written by anybody not named Peter David or Greg Wiseman (assuming of course that Cassie won't be derailed in season 3). Seriously, why do other writers like to make Cassie into a type A bitch in Teen Titans?
• Ravenger: Same as her brother Jericho.
• Atom: Cries a lot. His life sucks harder than his Marvel Counterpart.
• Static: Pretty normal. Honestly at this point only the black characters get relatively normal birthdays.
• Miss Martian: Some kind of Martian ritual that her people celebrate; hopefully non-lethal given her white Martian race's personality.
• Blue Bettle: Also normal.
• Bunker: And also normal, but for the sake of being funny and completely homophobic: lots of oily, muscular men girating in a Magic Mike sequence.

Joker's Daughter is heartbroken when the Joker doesn't give a shit and doesn't crash the party to threaten everybody.

Of course he wouldn't give a shit, he's not Duela's real father. In an alternate universe maybe, but on Earth 1 he's not.

Well, he wouldn't give one even if he was, but leaving that aside, he tends to be agressively drawn towards those using his imagery and name. With Duela, however, he doesn't even seem to think it's worth going after her.

Nope, nothing new to see here, just had a question after seeing a repeat of "Squash & Stretch" (the "Toon Titans" ep)... Cyborg at a couple points had a really dorky sounding affect to his voice during the Voltron action scene. Did any classic anime characters really talk like that?

That's the stereotype that many Badly dubbed animes had in the 80's. They tried to get away with so much.

It feels so bad, it feels so wrong, that I legitimately laughed at that 'Sour Grapes' song!

Though to be fair the Burger portion I heard, of that 'Burgers v. Burritos' song was delightfully absurd!

Y'know, by how the promos played it up, I thought they roped in Lebron for yet another episode. But they only aired that one ep not once, but twice today.

Yeesh. People still really haven't eased on the show, have they?
And not in the "we hate the show" sense, the "we hate that anyone made a breath sound that sounded sort of like 'Teen Titans Go'" sense.

I caught the April Fools' episode at the gym today. The final joke was... actually a little funny.

Yeah, the ending didn't really made me laugh as I already know it's a Fourth Wall Prank from a mile away. Seriously.l, the main characters showcasing Character Development, admitting their feelings to one another, and starting to act like real heroes?

It's actually fucking depressing that Titans' shittyness in this show makes it hard for me to actually buy into the idea of them growing as characters.

I kept waiting for them to prank each other, I just didn't expect the prank to be on me for some reason. So that's why it got me to actually laugh.

Not me. After watching them prank each other, knowing this show's history with fucking the audience, I can already tell they are going to do a forth wall prank on the audience near the end. That's at least my explanation why I didn't really laugh.

Honestly, I just imagine a bunch of Filthy Frank green screen clips involving him shouting "Prank'd" to be used as rim shots for each and every pranks in the episode. Man, Filthy Frank improves just about everything. I want Teen Titans Go to add Frank as the sixth member of the Titans under the name of Mr. Nasty.
