[up][up] Oh you.[lol]

I'd be more annoyed at your shitting up the thread if the criticism wasn't so hollow. The drama isn't cheap (there's a lot more drama in one's brother stabbing oneself in the gut than there is in a guy finding out about his wife, whom he has no memories or emotional attachment to, being murdered at some point in the past that he doesn't remember), the sex wasn't gratuitous (and made the subsequent attempted murder even more affecting) and the political games and favors are "shitty" how exactly?

Every episode is the best one yet. Dutch is awesome. Johnny is awesome. D'avin's head is unfucked. And Doc Pawter steps up to the plate.

What an episode. And check out that rapid pacing and plot advancement. It's so unlike a certain other Sy Fy Friday show that crawls along at a snails pace and has only shallow character with zero realistic motivation.

Okay, maybe that sex was not as gratuitous as Two/anyone in Dark Matter, but it was kinda cheap. Commander Knockoff got high on space molly, he got snuggly, then realized that porking Dutch wasn't a bad idea after all. And I wouldn't really say that up to this episode, Dutch was particularly attracted to him.

As for "political games and favors", well, let's see. Dutch insulted that noble, most probably screwed her over with that royal baby debacle, and gave the other Qreshi nobles a couple of things to talk about by landing on the lawn in the middle of a party, dropping off a surrogate mother right in the middle of the very important business of popping a babby out. Not a good thing to do, even if Dutch played her hand right. I would be wary of blindly granting someone a favor after all of this.

Also, Dutch gets arrested for springing that guy out of the loony bin, but Johnny Boy and Commander Knockoff aren't even mildly hassled. What the fuck? Same goes for Pawter being arrested, then released, then admitting her connections are bullshit. What the fuck? And finally, Lucy takes an awful lot of time to process the simple request of "Call a doctor".

I wouldn't call finally resolving a plot point that was feebly poked at since episode one "rapid plot advancement" either, particularly when the show relies on a Monster of the Week scheme, with one Character Arc or the other as a sideshow. All that compounded by bad guys spouting the "Vagueness Is Coming!" lines, as if to draw the viewer to watch another episode - hey, maybe that vagueness is gonna show up. Or not. Not until the finale. That, and my point about pissing the lore away until the plot demands it still stands. In this episode, someone made a casual remark about "sticking people out in the rain". Lo and behold, next week it's acid rainstorm time on Westerly, a thing nobody mentioned for six episodes, seven if we don't count local idioms.

...also, how did Dutch get Fancy Lee's fancy Welrod?

I am going to surprise you.

After eight episodes of pissing lore away, ping-ponging important stuff and acting like the universe doesn't move if the protagonists don't move, THINGS HAPPEN. That was a good episode, for Killjoys standards.

Khlyen was playing Dutch like a fiddle. Sure, that was Deus ex Machina as fuck, but in the end, some valid points were addressed. He was waiting until Dutch realized she's ready to get killy - which, as we know, Johnny The Idiot Boy fucked up in several ways in episode one. He's Level Six, which, I assume, is an authorization for system-wide powerplays that may or may not include adjusting local political systems crudely with the help of a fuck-off huge wrench or similar tools. And the Nine... Well, due to how the lore is used in this show, we know exactly jack shit about House Jardin and where it lies in the power structure of the Nine. Bad writers! Bad!

The Company is lying like a rug, considering that the Resistance, and Alvis The Creepy being its leader, is being maneuvered into some bullshit shootout on the next moon over, which makes as much sense as our new president's campaign promises, read - none and the Company is making up excuses as their ass is writing checks their mouth can't cash.

And Commander Knockoff and Johnny The Idiot Boy are left with a planetary-sized shit to clean up. GG, suckers.

wild mass guessThere is ever only one Level Six and their apprentice at any given time and Dutch's final test to replace Khlyen will be to kill him.

Am I the only one who was hearing Alvis as "Elvis"?

Nah, Khlyen nicked the Adjustable Foxdie Bomb back in episode six, and he's apparently planning to use it for a little kingmaking. With Dutch being a Qreshi noble of some sort (tenth family? cadet branch? Gee, if only the writers bothered enough to explain THAT!), he may be grooming her for a position of power.

Which still doesn't explain what's Red-17, why Amanda Fapping put a berserk button in Commander Knockoff's head and what does Khlyen need Turin for.

Tone down your comments or leave the thread. There's no need for that kind of language, any more than there was in the Dark Matter thread. You can criticize a show without being a dick to the actors, the writers, and the audience.

One question. What's worse: reneging on a promise through a political vote or reneging on a promise through a goddamned carpet bombing?

The nobles most likely to vote "no" on granting Leith land to Westerlyns. At least that's what she implied.

Hell of a hook for next season, which I hope there will be.

Glad the sassy bartender made it, I liked him. Probably my favorite side character.

[up][up]Okay, that makes sense now. For some reason I thought she'd killed off the ones she'd pointed out as her allies.

[up] Uh-huh, sure, yeah, except it doesn't in the wider context of the false flag they were pulling.

Just wanted to ask, does anyone here on this fine forum have the full text of the oath that D'avin swears when he is made a RAC agent? I know that it is summarized as "The Warrant is All," but I really was intrigued by the whole oath.

Thanks!

It is summer, and killjoys is back. It is also firing on all cylinders, with an enemy both suitably epic and personal, a pretty graceful recast, and Delle Seyah Kendry being raised from the dead and meeting Aneela. In a hottub of green goo. Allow me to flail about with enthusiasm. So much fun. Viktoria Modesta was in the latest episode? With a role that suited her to a T.

Getting through season 2. It's amazing. LOVE Pree. Love all of them really. So sad the seasons are so short though - going to have to wait for ages for season 3 on Netflix...
