IIRC unless you overgrind, Lisette doesn't even learn Hip Drop until after the dessert tour of the city event. Mr X ended up making the conditions right for it [lol]

I'm enjoying this so far. Was hella pleased with myself when I took down the level 10 "Investigate Mitra" optional encounter with everyone level 8 or lower when I started (ended with everyone but Archibald at level 10 or better). The biggest annoyances have been trying to keep Popo's stupid familiars alive for the bonus (gave up on that) and knowing that once I start a New Game Plus, I will apparently get three times as much free time to do stuff.

I've seen four of the endings with my first pass of the game.

Lisette's ending: Mrs Rosa's not gonna have grandchildren so soon if she keeps making it awkward for them.

Archibald's ending: Actually pretty funny and doesn't contradict Lisette's ending.

Rusty's ending: Total BRO ending.

Nonoka's ending: double entendres galore, also the poor girl's shoulders must ache.

I've only seen Sakuya's and Giselle's. The former was nice, the latter was... disappointing.

So I grabbed this game like a week ago and I'm already on Chapter X, it's pretty fun if pretty easy to break. Rusty Key is basically an "I Win" button that you get as early as Chapter 2 (not to mention Popo being quite strong in general) and Hilda's power is just ridiculous while Ice World is a flat-out better version of Rusty Key while Blazing Light nukes the entire map with non-elemental damage. Lisette is surprisingly strong too, being able to take physical attacks pretty well with Water Veil and Hip Dropping enemies into submission. I've maxed out Lisette, Popo, Archibald and Hilda and I'm going for Hilda's ending.

Also I'm liking all of the characters besides Popo having a slightly irritating voice but Hilda is flat-out the best girl, no dispute at all.

Also it's kinda hard to be surprised that Mordimort is the true Earth Witch when she's shown with the other "main" witches in the opening and that Hilda is Good All Along and joins you when she's shown in the opening's tuning sequence.

The fake out with Mordi annoys me given that you get a game over if the clone of her dead sister dies. Even though she immediately dies in the cutscene following that map.

Also, Conduct is pretty broken, yeah. Especially when you get Song Orbs for your main attackers.

I had actually assumed that Niki would die and that Mordi would inherit the Earth Qualia and her blowing herself up actually caught me off guard.

Also Mordi is pretty damn cute but she's so hard to use in battle, she's super slow and kinda frail so it's hard to actually get to hit stuff with Mor Earth, she doesn't hit as hard as Popo from range to compensate and her Conduct effect is kinda lame since Negate Action is pretty much objectively better than Sleep and Lisette can already heal up everyone's HP AND SP in a pinch. Plus maxing out hers and Lisette's Affinity on a first playthrough is mutually exclusive and you don't get her until forever (and until after you've probably invested pretty heavily in Lisette's Affinity so you may as well go all the way). Reddened Galaxy is a great song, though, and the traps that create clones of Mordi have saved me a few times when certain overpowered enemies went for it instead of screwing over one of my units (*cough* Giselle *cough*)

Mordi is funny, but she's easily the most mediocre of the witches in battle. Low turn speed and movement aren't doing her any favors.

I remember I thought Keith was terrible, too, until I activated Sakuya's Cherry Blossom song and he just went to town crit killing a ton of enemies in Mordi's Mental World. I think he leveled up, like, five times.

I just hated Keith as a character so he got stuck on the bench, plus Popo isn't exactly a slouch with her bow especially when she unlocks Heart Shot in the later 20's. Plus she's fast while Keith's turnspeed is about on par with Mordi's. I also didn't find myself using Sakuya's conduct very often since I'd rather keep my units safe and be able to get better positions than to get more damage for a turn that I can already get. Plus you're missing out on those sweet Sparrow Strikes and Terminal Strikes.

Also once you get Hilda you'll never want to be without her since she's so powerful and versatile and is bulky enough to fight on the frontline to boot. The first time I used Darkhale Metric was pretty amazing.

I like Hilda's first outfit and song more than her second though, I'm just a big fan of witch apparel in general and the wedding dress+moving clock gears is kinda silly, and I feel like Blazing Light doesn't have quite the level of emotion that Ice World has. Still best girl though.

Also I think that Levia is my favorite song in general, it's so intense.

Yeah, I never cared for Keith either. I also relegated Sakuya to stabbing fools once Lisette learned to sing.

And yeah, Time Witch Hilda is easily the most absurdly overpowered unit. But what else can you expect when they literally have the Spirit Bomb as an attack?

Finally beat the game, the final battle was pretty much pumping Sakuya full of Elixia for Terminal Strike spam (along with a lucky level up). Hilda's ending is cute as fuck although I kinda almost felt bad for Lisette since her whole plot is how she's in love with Alto and then he goes and hooks up with the chick who specfically tried to murder her a bunch of times. It must be tough not being the best girl.

Also what the fuck is up with Veronica's ultimate attack, I was expecting something cool and got... that.

Why wouldn't an attack named Odin involve a colony drop of giant glasses? tongue

Because Final Fantasy makes people think of swordsman riders chopping enemies into pieces with a sharp sword when you summon Odin?

I mean I guess it almost make sense since Odin is supposed to have only one eye and glasses are related to eyes so its a tangential connection but I feel like there's some joke I'm missing here.

Also did anyone end up comparing Hilda to Homura? They're both seemingly-antagonistic stoics with time powers who are actually heroic and have been trying futilely to fulfill The Promise to someone that they've been carrying a serious torch for for a huge amount of time and they both Used to Be a Sweet Kid.

Personally I think Hilda has a stronger chuuni level than Homura and has the advantage of not being stuck in an endless recursion of time.

Can anybody link to me a video of Veronica's final skill Odin? I only used it once in my first playthrough, and I can't find any videos of it on YouTube.

EDIT: Specifically want one with the English voice acting.

I wish this song had more remixes. At least this'll tide me until GaMetal remixes it.
