Does Not Illustrate: Just Friends

As someone unfamilliar with the work being used to illustrate this page, I see no connection between the image and the trope in question. It seems heavily reliant on its caption as well.

Unfortunately, I am fresh out of ideas on what pic should be used to replace it. Anyone want to suggest ideas?

Agreed, the current pretty much requires the caption to get the trope across.

Anyways, just scanned the examples, particularly the comic ones. Maybe a couple panels from this?

+1 to move it to Absurdly Specific Book Title.

I'm thinking of 2+4, though just 4 will do fine. He's still holding those flowers, after all.

Just putting my two cents in but I think Just Friends is one of those tropes that can not easily be represented by a static image....Soo, I think a lampshade, a comic, or something like that would be ideal if we are lgooing to look for a replacement.

EDIT: Um, don't mind what's above...Anyways, I think 2-3-4 of that VG Cats comic would be fine as an image.

You wouldn't know that from just 4, since the flowers are off-panel. The dejection kinda gets the trope across even without that context, at least.

Here they are side by side for comparison. I still think 2+4 is stronger; the third panel doesn't add much to what's better illustrated in the fourth.

2+4 is my preferred combination as well. I think the image size could be smaller though.

Yeah, it could easily come down to 300 or even 275 px and still work fine.
