And for a group who has less power to carry out genocide it would also take a revolution.
And sometimes there might not be much difference between the two.
Keep Rolling OnWhat's the difference between "making a mistake that you regret" and "making a conscious choice and accepting the consequences?" If any? "Mistake" implies that what you did wasn't what you meant to do, right? So if someone said they made the "mistake" of (for example) cheating on someone with someone else, are they really telling the truth, or just lying to themselves because cheating on someone is a conscious choice?
Not sure if this is the right thread or not. But I decided to put it here.

A lot of mistakes are conscious choices. Hindsight is a thing that exists. Otherwise there'd be no such thing as tactical or strategical mistakes.
Accepting the consequences is irrelevant, since you can do that whether you did something deliberately or by accident.
The key factor is probably regret, or that you'd do it differently if you could get a do-over.
Check out my fanfiction! What is a 'whore', 'slut' or 'skank' anyway...?
A whore is someone who earns money doing what you only wish you were doing, a slut is someone more successful with the opposite gender (usually) than you, and a skank is someone who dresses in a way you don't dare to even if you want to. I'm not entirely sure on the last one, though.
Check out my fanfiction!Actually all three terms used to refer to being sloppy, messy, lazy, and uncouth...
"A whore is someone who earns money doing what you only wish you were doing"
Is that not a stripper, prostitute, or porn actor/actress?
But yes, I get your point.
If it's about "being sloppy, messy, lazy, and uncouth" in a sexual manner, I personally believe using those words would get the point across much better. Oh, how about 'bimbo'?

No, it's more about, like, not taking proper care of your house, wearing smelly underwear, etc.
Being a slob.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.Ah, I now noticed the phrase "used to". The terms have since taken on sexual meanings.
"Whore" in the modern vernacular is used as a synonym for a prostitute.
It's also used as an insult, but the insult is derived from that usage. It's intended to demean a woman by implying that she is a prostitute. If a popular girl is called a "whore", the implication is that she bought her popularity with sex. If a game developer is called a "whore", the implication is that she bought her success with sex. If a high-ranking businesswoman is called a "whore", the implication is that she slept her way to the top.
As an insult, it draws power from several toxic ideas including
- A woman can only be powerful or successful by gaining favor of men, never on her own merits.
- Women are inherently deceitful and dishonest creatures who use sexuality to manipulate and control others.
- Female sexuality is inherently shameful and/or wicked.
Etc.
My Tumblr. Currently liveblogging Haruhi Suzumiya and revisiting Danganronpa V3.You don't need to have sex at all to win the qualifier that way; it's enough that you (appear to) use your sex appeal as leverage.
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that. There's also the use for excess use of something, in various ways, like Whoring, or being a camwhore (taking a lot of pictures of yourself, or hogging the camera's attention whoever's holding it).
Check out my fanfiction!I think whore actually used to mean 'girl', etymologically speaking
So the worst thing you can call a girl is a girl?
I find that hilarious.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!No, you can also call her a republican.
As far as I know, that's a possible origin of the word, but as always when it comes to words that old, it's not certain, and we don't always know the exact connotations the words had back then.
Check out my fanfiction!Afraid not. For all the different spellings, it's meant prostitute for roughly a thousand years (dating back to Old Norse, where it first shows up).
It's just one of those really rare cases where linguistic drift never happened.

Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)So...what was the English term for just a regular girl, then?
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Going by the same website, the original word was in fact maiden.
Expergiscēre cras, medior quam hodie. (Awaken tomorrow, better than today.)Oh. I always thought that term referred to girls of nobility.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel.Virginity actually. Maidenhead used to be what they called the hymen.
DON'T LOSE YOUR HEEEEEEAAAAAAAAD, MY SWEETHEART, THIS IS THE WAY TO BE MORE STRONG...
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.
Well, the difference there is that one is recommending genocide and the other is recommending a good old fashioned revolution.
