Color me excited. It'll be interesting seeing how they pull this one off.
I wonder what the plot is. Ape vs Ape, Ape vs Human?
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Most likely Ape vs Human. Though, if there's some bullshit about Koba being alive, I'd imagine a little Ape vs Ape thrown in for added drama.
(V)(;,,;)(V)Nice to see that Caesar isn't one of those "We are always victims and all of our troubles are Man's fault" guys. He knows they messed up with what happened last movie.

That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Of course. It's not like he could ignore the fact that KOBA is the one who shot him. And Koba's the one who took over and got so many apes killed in the first place.
How would the apes fight the military though? They would be vastly outnumbered and outgunned
Stand Fast, Stand Strong, Stand TogetherThey know the terrain, are stronger, have the element of surprise, don't have to worry about reloading or any other supply concerns.
(V)(;,,;)(V)Artillery shellings from the ocean, take over the coasts. Set up mortars and fire bombs and blow the shit out of everything like the Allies did to the Nazis in places like Dresden. Long as you get the human populace evacced to better places first, you'd win handily. Question is how much of a supply they'd actually have after ten years of Hell.
We don't even know how many ships or troops the surviving humans have.
(V)(;,,;)(V)Yes, that is what it boils down to. If humanity doesn't have enough of a military left, it'll be like Custer at Little Big Horn.
Personally I think the apes have two marks in their favor: Their superior mobility, and their numbers. In Dawn they were able to get over the armory walls by climbing around them when the humans were butchering them due to better positions and heavier firepower, but they also outnumbered the humans by a great deal. In Rise, they never would have made it off the bridge if it weren't for the fact that they could cling to the underside.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.The situation may well have changed by the time of the new movie. The apes may have developed technology on their own, and appropriated human weapons.
But yeah, I sincerely hope Koba is not still alive as some people have theorised. He served his purpose.

The theory's not without some backing. There's an audio stinger at the end of the credits of Dawn that sounds horribly like an injured ape shuffling. Just what you would hear if Koba had untangled himself from that wreckage and walked off to heal and earn a few more scars. Not saying it will happen that way, but it is suggested from that clip.
ETA: Also, we don't know how much of a time skip we'll get. It's entirely possible this movie will pick up directly where the last one left off, with the Apes just now leaving the city, packing their things, and running for the hills with their new supplies.

Not saying it can't plausibly happen. I just don't want it to happen. What would Koba do if he continued to be the villain for the next movie? Challenge Caesar's authority again? I'm not interested in seeing a retread of Dawn. They already set the war between the apes and humans up as inevitable by the end of that movie, so Koba is just plain unnecessary at this point.

I would think it's only inevitable as a sort of "Cycle of Revenge" thing. In Dawn Caesar seemed perfectly willing to let bygones be bygones when one of the humans offered to help him with his sick mate.
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Caesar's family proved tougher than Koba thought. No, if he's in the next movie I don't think they'll settle for having him challenge Caesar's leadership. He'll probably be captured by humans, seem to do the impossible by allying with them, and try to use his inside knowledge to help kill off Caesar's tribe. Granted, it would most likely be a gambit where he'd turn on the humans and steal their shit again. Maybe with a tribe of his own. Then it'd be Ape vs. Ape.
Human vs Ape is Ape vs Ape.

Flora is the most beautiful member of the Winx Club. :)Only in the bones. We're more like an ape skeleton wrapped in pork. Literally. Only the Powers That Be know how the Hell THAT one evolved.
Humans, chimps, and bonobos are all more closely related to one another than any are to the gorillas, and all of them are more closely related still than any is to the orangutans.
It would be more accurate to say that gibbons are a dwarf ape's skeleton wrapped in monkey.

"What a century this week has been." - Seung Min KimThey could use humans for their animal testing. They could even have a horror movie called "Planet of the Humans"

Next Planet of the Apes film named. I like it. I know this was one of the names thrown about but it seems to be confirmed now.
