*Verdana just responds by rolling his eyes at the twins, as though quite evidently aware of his own lack of denial.*

"Well, yeah, but I'm sure neither of you would exactly mind offing someone that both of you hate. Sides, times are changing."

   One, you two arrived here while Verdana was around, and actually didn't attack out of nowhere. That was a surprise.   

Auros hums a little and floats back, grinning mischievously.

   Two, I already said the truth, so stop digging for cryptic mysteries where there is none.   

The elf rubs the back of his head, and smiles again.

   Also, Verdana has a point. How many times have you attacked people just after hearing what others have to say?   

"Yeah, but I don't act like a sadistic, raving, cackling maniac who kills people, even if they're innocent, for fun, Red. But I'm not really in the mood for a pointless debate. So, when exactly did you start acting all chill?"

"Ugh... fuck this. Since you're clearly just going to toy with me while grinning obnoxiously, tell me absolutely nothing of importance, and try to make me feel horrible about myself with lectures, I give up."

Wanda throws her hands up in annoyance, having had quite enough of Auros' antics.

"Forgive me for being curious about your shocked reaction to seeing me and Pietro..."

*There's a pause. Verdana responds with a shrug.*

"Well, call it what you want. Things are just different. I don't think me going into some sort of... I dunno, something you'd probably write off as a motive rant, would actually help explain or change yer viewpoint on it."

*Then, he begins pacing.*

"Eh, what the hell, I'll try it anyway. Things are different, as I said earlier. At the time of me splitting away from the other half, neither of us had a very great view on what emotions meant, and guess who inherited all of those? Yeah, me. And that stuck me with more than enough self-loathing. Can't expect someone with all that to be very kind to the world around them, right?"

Pietro simply gives Verdana a nod.

"True, true. I mean, it doesn't exactly justify the psychotic rampages, but... I do get why you kinda turned out all murder-y at first."

*Since he's not gotten too bad of a reaction from his explanation, the albino pauses to figure out where his words next will go, then he continues, still pacing from side to side. He's got a fair bit on his mind to get out, after all.*

"Yeah, well, the main part is that things eventually changed. You know how the human body is naturally hardwired to suppress emotions if they go on fer too long? It's kind of like that, but a bit different. There was self-hate for the longest of times, but eventually it's sort of... dried up or something, I suppose. That, and spending time as myself meant I had my own opinions to form."

*He shrugs.*

"Yeah, I'm the emotional side of the splits, and yeah, I started off really pissed about that. But that don't mean I gotta stick to it."

"Hmm... so, correct me if I'm wrong here, but you essentially calmed down and became your own person rather than just 'the emotional half of the same guy? Whatever the case, at least you're not out rampaging, so I'm sure as hell not gonna complain about that."

Pietro briefly pauses, then continues.

"And, uh... sorry for kinda being rude to ya earlier. I was just a little surprised to see you acting so calm and not violent for a change."

*At this, Verdana shrugs.*

"Call it whatever you will. I'm still the emotional half of someone, I guess it's more that... I dunno. I can accept being that now, and my perspective's changed a bit? Ain't really sure how to phrase it, myself."

"Whatever the case, it seems like a big step in the right direction from where I'm standing. So... keep up the good work, Red."

Pietro takes a moment to check his phone, then looks back at Verdana.

"Ah, sorry for cutting and running so soon, but there's something else I've gotta do. See you around, Red."

After bidding farewell to the red-eyed man, he dashes off.

Going to bed.

Above Goldshire

A portal opens just above the town, and a strange figure floats down into the road below...

Goku is working out nearby, punching at the air.

Goldshire

*There appears to be a fairly plain-looking woman just leaning against the door of the inn.*

The being soon touches down, looking at the others with a rather analytical expression, before muttering to himself.

"Nusderr... who are you both?"

*There's a pause from the plain looking woman, who seems to be just casually adjusting her stance, before she turns around to face the new being. After that, she raises one eyebrow.*

"What's that term mean? I ain't heard it yet... well, speaking in timeline terms. There's probably some a me running around in the past who do know."

"Hm ?"

He looks up at them and waves with one hand.

"Hey, I'm Goku !"

"Mortals. Or, more accurately, beings who aren't deities."

The figure brushes his hair as he focuses on Goku, before frowning a little, his tail flicking about.

"My name is Verben. And, lady, you still haven't introduced yourself."

"Well I'd say I'm... a quarte or half deity ? It's complicated."

*Beat.*

"Oh. Then ya must be speaking to someone else if you're using that term."

*Enjelica shrugs with a grin on her face. She's not bothering to reveal what she's like just yet, although it'd be funny to her to watch someone try to figure it out on their own.*

"Anywho, names, names... name's Enjelica."

"Well, neither of you would count as deities unless you are officially designated as one."

Verben tilts his head, before glancing around the area, having an air rather like that of nobility.

"Have you two seen a catlike being here with dark skin?"

He seems to be in his reflexions.

"Are you talking about Beer- ho, dark skin. Well, nope !"

*Beat.*

"Oh, official stuff. I prolly ain't part of it, then. Got more than enough reason to be counted..."

*She shrugs. In response to the catlike person with dark skin, Enjelica takes another moment, then... shrugs again.*

"Catlike, dark skin... one of me, at least, probably knows who ya're talking about. Problem is, I ain't sure at what point in the timeline I first meet the guy. Or gal. Or nonspecific. Or other. So, yanno... can't tell yet."

"...Beer who? And the one I'm talking about is Felraom. I'm currently teaching him and Altre about a few vital skills."

Verben smiles visibly, looking rather smug at the idea, before turning to face Enjelica, now appearing curious.

"...Alternate selves, huh. That definitely sounds a bit like Altre."

"Beerus, the God of Destruction. He's a moody guy but he's good when you know him."

*Enjelica's response is to shake her head with a faint grin, and admittedly a bit of an air of smugness about her.*

"Ain't quite right there. It's all the same me, but my timeline just ain't the same as the timeline of everyone else's. Lemmie just say, you'd be surprised how spooked a caveman can get if ya appear in front of him in 21st century getup."

*She giggles in amusement.*

"Ya can probably piece together what I do by now, right? Or do I have to say it to ya?"

"I see... Felraom isn't moody, but he does have a temper. Altre doesn't hesitate to punch him for that. And then there's the entire topic of Zamathriel..."

Verben then focuses straight on Enjelica, looking ready to roll his eyes.

"You transcend timelines, I get it. You're not the only one to have that trait. Altre is the opposite. A fixed existence... unless he decides otherwise."
