The movie's reception thus far has been far more positive than I expected.
Maybe a matinee. Or a rental.
What a twist!

I thought the twist was gonna be the last frame being Shyamalan saying "Ha! You paid $10 to see this!"
The Visit started out as a thriller, but this time, he did the Parody Retcon before the film was released, not after.
The Visit was talked up as a black comedy when it was still titled Sundowning and before it was shot...
Here's Brad Jones(Cinema Snob's) video on it. He seemed to really enjoy it.
My Tumblr "If theirs one thing I'm good at, it's blowing" Jesse Cox 2013moviebob was really hard on it...he spoiled the twist at the start of his review, though, so I won't link it.
Chris Stuckman's review got me interested in this movie (it helps that he's usually rather moderate in his opinions)… and confirmed what I got from the trailer − that it was partly meant to be funny.
I might give this one a shot in the next weeks.
Stuckman is a Shyamalan fan, therefore I decided not to listen to him this time around.
Damn, I feel really bad because I didn't even know it was Shyamalan until I saw the Yourmoviesucks DO Torg video about it. I should have known...

A fan of anime, music, and movies.I guess the movie is not as bad as it could have been, but not really good either.

I remember Brad saying it was a genuinely good movie. Probably due to Shymalan making it intentionally humorous at points while still being creepy at points. Outside of some gross points(like anything involving the old man's diapers), it sounds like a good horror flick.
Hopefully this isn't just an outlier and Shyamalan's movies will be better.

Even watching the trailer without context, I felt like the movie just reeked of Shyamalan. And I haven't even seen a Shyamalan film.
but HOW?
