Poor Image: Family Friendly Firearms

I'd say the image works well enough on its own without a caption.

Without a caption the current is a clown with a weird gadget and some other guy.

Crowner time?

That is why I was wanting to pair it with the original unedited image.

Without a caption, the current is two kids who broke their spring-loaded doohickey and need to fix it before their parents come home. It's a great example, don't get me wrong, I just think it's a lousy picture.

For what it's worth, I think that the middle panel of 1.1 is exactly what we need.

It's a policeman, who is holding a doughnut, which is shooting bullets.

It's funny because it's so ridiculous and it also clearly illustrates the trope.

Caption could be: "Loaded doughnuts can be lethal"

It might fall under This Banana is Armed, though...

That's a different, but similar trope. That's about someone showing up with a weapon character in-universe think won't do anything, but it does.

Family-Friendly Firearms is about weapons turned into non-realistic looking weapons for the sake of censorship, but they're still regarded as proper weapons in the story.

Okay. Let me rephrase it then - it might be mistaken for This Banana is Armed.

Something to lampshade the shell casings would be nice. Can't think of anything non-clunky, though. "The bullets increase the non-lethality of the lasers." Something like that. Or, "Laser bullets: The new and safe way to defeat your evil foes!"

"ACME Laser Bullets! Military-tested, censor-approved!"

I'm fine with Willbyr's suggestion.

I agree with that caption as well, and I've put it up and adjusted the note. Also, please don't forget to update the Image Source pages when changing images - this one was still referencing One Piece.
