The missions being all open at once is more likely a concession done for the sake of the multiplayer mode. Plus, I believe Treyarch did that once already with World at War: I recall the versions being used in an internet cafe I used to frequent automatically starting off with every level unlocked.
I'm perfectly happy with the decision. It's literally no different than a book or movie where you can go to any chapter or scene whenever you want, instead of having to redo the entire thing because you need to review one particular sequence or conversation. Or if this were a choice-heavy RPG from Bioware, you now wouldn't have to make a hard save before every quest.
There is literally nothing negative about this except that the campaign ending can be spoiled a few hours earlier now.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyActually, a Bioware game - especially in the vein of Mass Effect or Dragon Age - probably would suffer severely from that type of setup, precisely because you'd have players cheating the story to predict any potential losses. Such games rely upon the player being unaware of future events and plot twists to work effectively, and a setup allowing them to jump into any important moment they wish would ruin it.
Plus... let's be honest here. If that were to be applied to ME 3, you'd see the internet full of people who gave up on the game before even finishing the Earth intro mission, due to how they decided to skip to the end and probably got frustrated by the RGB ending.

It makes sense of a linear storyline. Mass Effect does not have a linear storyline.
Remember when Wall Hacking was cheating?
Those features look like they're restricted to singleplayer.
They do have medals for almost, and they're called silver!I'm guessing emergency reserve (aka futuristic last stand) will help out with that realistic mode. I mean, not mentioning all of the other tech exploits.
this place needs me hereGameplay Launch Trailer!
Wish they picked a different song than the one they used for the reveal trailer, but still good.
I remember when Advanced Warfare was about to be announced someone said something to the effect of "either the next Call of Duty or the one after it is gonna be a Steampunk magitech take on World War I" and at the time nobody made anything out of it but...... that description kinda fits the Zombies mode in Black Ops 33 if you stretch it a bit. Maybe that explains why they're doing that whole setting for the Zombies instead of doing it future style (asset reuse of a canceled full Co D game?!)
33? What about 4-32?
Confirmed that A7X has written a new song for the game, instrumental this time. The name of the song is Jade Helm.
Jade Helm 15 was a large scale military exercise taking place in the southwest U.S. from July 15, 2015 - September 15, 2015. Intriguingly, there was a shocking rise in sales of tinfoil hats during this timeframe.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyNot to mention a bunch of close-calls involving far-right nutjobs trying to start a fight with the military, and one of our friggin presidential candidates (Ted Cruz) actually buying into all that conspiratorial crap and requesting a full investigation.
To be fair, the US military did an absolutely craptacular job communicating what Op: Jade Helm 15 really was.

Live-Action Trailer!
I always enjoy how tongue-and-cheek these trailers are. Even if some (cough Walt Williams) think that they are indicative of a disturbing mindset amongst gamers.

Xone, but am enjoying halo 5 Arena so much.
So some copies have leaked out and (non-story spoilers ahead) as if Multiplayer, Zombies, Campaign, Freerun, and Dead Ops Arcade 2 weren't enough, when you beat the campaign, you unlock ANOTHER new mode called Nightmares, which mixes the campaign and Zombies for a kind of New Game Plus experience. I don't have enough details on it to elaborate a whole bunch, but here are some menu images of the aforementioned spoiler: 1◊, 2◊, 3◊.
Amazing that Treyarch has the game packed with enough content that they can afford to keep entire modes a secret.
this place needs me hereI haven't been this excited for a COD game since Wa W and the Rezurrection DLC.
Roses are plants and violets are too, here's some cake... please don't sue.Just got the game!
Will, like always, go through the campaign first.
Nice! I'll probably go pick it up tomorrow/later today.
PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyI hope the Wunderwaffe isn't crap. Treyarch better be trolling those let's players.

I am now incredibly tempted to play the game backwards the first time I get it.
