I didn't ask, "Why don't you do better", because that would involve me actually asking for a suggestion instead. I asked what would make for a better image. That's something you can describe in words, if you have any clue about what you actually would like to see if you could imagine your perfect image.
Check out my fanfiction!Fair enough. And what I am looking for may be impossible. I expect the image to show an obvious family relationship and cover the murder or impending murder.
I feel the suggested image does not cover the first part at all and is even vague on the second.
This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.How do you show an obvious familiar relationship? For this particular trope, I find it a little bit of a problem, considering the times when the children match the parents very closely in appearance is when you want to show a close-knit family. If there are inner struggles, like one that would spark this trope, they tend to be portrayed as more different, which is usually reflected in their appearance. He still has the same hair style here, though.
I'm not sure impending murder can be very much better than a raised sword and despondent looking people below.
Check out my fanfiction!Well, I think I have said everything I have to say about this and will wait for a crowner.
I just don't see the point of including an image where the caption is basically: this fits the trope Take Our Word for It
This signature says something else when you aren't looking at it.I don't think that's true.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.I just don't see the point of excluding an image when the argument is basically: This doesn't show the trope, Take Our Word for It.
Check out my fanfiction! As I said in the other thread, an obvious age difference between the killer and the victims would help imply the familial relationship. I'd like to at least see that much in the trope image.
I've looked around a bit (actually closer to when the thread started, but didn't mention it then), but most of them (that aren't character background events to begin with, which is the majority of the examples) come up as vague on the actual killing (either killing by proxy, like a fire, or a discretion shot of some kind), or they're live action, and actors playing relatives don't tend to look much alike.
Check out my fanfiction!I made a crowner and Hollered for a hook.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Pretty quick, but since it's the second or third time we are having this discussion, might as well go ahead right now.
Hooked that crowner.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanItachi would be much better at a higher resolution. At its current size it's too hard to make out.
Regarding the Itachi pic, my main gripe with it is that he practically looks the same age as the people he's killing. Devoid of context, I would not assume that the people he's about to off are his parents.
Reaction Image RepositoryWhenever you find a pic that shows people who look like different ages feel free to bring it up in discussion.
I've added an option to the crowner to keep the page without a pic until something that's completely clear comes up.
The current one isn't perfect, but it's worlds better than the Naruto one.
None of the suggested alternatives work, but the current page image could definitely be a quote instead. Leaving it imageless seems like the best choice since it's going to be too much of a hassle to find an image that effectively describes the trope without relying entirely on speech bubbles/caption text.

That is considerably less readable than either the current or the suggestion.
Incidentally, I sometimes (like here) prefer caption text to speech bubble text because the former is frequently easier to read.
