Those are scars. But there's tears right under her eyes as well.
The current one's better than that one for me, but not great.

Current's not just two speech bubbles. Not great, certainly, but the suggestion is a step backwards.
What's up with having wildly different standards of image quality depending on liking the work?

You're one to talk. You tend to flip-flop on whether an image that's just a speech bubble with mild illustration is not good enough or "ehh just go with it".

My only major problem with the current is that it doesn't show the character feeling good, but rather someone telling them that Good Feels Good.

What if it were painted out and the text moved to the caption instead?
Is there any possibility you could make them bigger? I am not completely satisfied with the caption approach
Could easily add type to that image, but I am not sure a subtitle is better in the image than in the caption.
