Sigh...he really owned that "directly" phrase, didn't he?
2 years later, and he's still going to be missed.
(By the way, is the phrase only spoken in Japanese when you do the thing, or is there a version of it in English? Because I know he spoke it in English.)

Finally, we get to experience the glory that was Picross NP and it's two-player mode! (Yes, even if this is most likely a new title built from the ground up for the Switch instead of a port of the SNES titles.) I've watched that 2P mode in NP on a guy's stream and it looks fun, and the developers did make the Picross e titles for the 3DS, so I'm not worried about quality.
Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownI had no idea what Picross NP was, but a quick Google search showed that it was a series of Super Famicom games exclusive to the Nintendo Power online service cartridge.
Wow.
And it was around from 1999 until 2000. Super NES games. Released during the N64 and Game Boy Color era.
Double wow.
Incidentally, further research got me to realize Super NES didn't stop being a thing in Japan until 2003 and the Nintendo Power online service cartridge didn't stop being a thing until 2007.
Triple wow.
Super NES really kicked ass, didn't it?
(But yes, that Picross game does look new and made from scratch as opposed to being ported to anything from Super NES.)

Honestly, if this is a port of anything, it's a port of the engine Jupiter used for the Picross e titles on the 3DS; what those screenshots show looks very much like one of them, just minus a second screen. However, it wouldn't surprise me if they mined the older GB and SNES titles for puzzles, at least for standard mode; Micross and Mega Picross have some unique requirements for puzzle design.

Will the transhumanist future have catgirls? Does Japan still exist? Well, there is your answer. — UnknownAbout Golf being played at July 11, only 1.0.0 allows setting the system date to July 11 to play Golf anytime. Later versions checked the net first.
My DA account... I draw stuff sometimes!More news; coming on the 3rd is Lovers in a Dangerous Spacetime.

DOOM (2016) Switch: Multiplayer.it is calling 60 fps, while Digital Foundry is calling it 30 fps. Both are calling it an incredible port.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I won't treat either as confirmed until I hear Bethesda's word. 60fps would be impressive, but believeable- this is Id we're talking about.
jamie-b-good.tumblr.comDigital Foundry was only able to try it handheld. Maybe it's 60 docked?
More good news. The upcoming Atelier game is coming to the Switch, in addition to the PS 4 and PC, internationally next year.

The only good fanboy, is a redeemed fanboy./me looks it up...
Oh. OH. Yes, I want that one too. I do so enjoy a good Dynasty Warriors game, and I have fond memories of Warriors Orochi 3 once I found out it was on the Wii U.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order."NOW YOU'RE PLAYING WITH POWER"
Maybe it's some kind of new Super FX chip at work...
Oops, didnt realize I was using the wrong units...
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I was about to wonder if you were talking about the original DOOM.
Reaction Image Repository@Atelier: Was announced a while back for Switch.
The interesting part is that we have a confirmed Early 2018 release window now for the West. Nice to see Koei-Tecmo maintaining this increased speed.
@DOOM: Yeah, the texture quality drop probably helped pull that off. I'm just happy it runs.

So, thanks to my local comic expo, I finally got to try a Switch.
I replayed Mario Kart 8, but also gave Pokken a try. I was Decidueye. I gotta say, I liked bot the game, and the system. It's incredibly small though. It looks only a little bigger than a 3DS (not counting the controllers). So it seems like depending on what kind of pockets you have, it would fit rather handily.
One Strip! One Strip! The thing as a whole is only about an inch wider than the 3DS is, but it's 100% screen; its screen is easily three or four times the size of the 3DS's.
It's actually on every Switch machine, but you can only play it on 7-11.
Voice clips of Iwata on the Direct can be heard when you opens the game.
Where there's life, there's hope.
