Starting to think the PS 4 Pro and X1 Whatever might had been prompted by Sony and Microsoft knowing about the Switch ahead of time somehow...

I mean, I guess it would be sort of embarassing if your latest system on the market is matched by something that's essentially a hand held.

I love how, nowadays, when something impressive is done with technology, it's referred to as "black magic" or "sorcery."

As long as it's jokingly referred to as such and nobody takes it literally.

I honestly prefer local MP to online MP.

I do too. I grew up playing local multi-player video games with my siblings (and still do as well as playing with other gamers at my school), and to be quite honest, Super Smash Bros.'s online mode quickly left me disillusioned with playing with anyone online at all.

I never cared much for multiplayer- either online or offline- because I grew up in a house where I was the only gamer and in a community where I was the only Nintendo gamer (not that I had friends anyway) so I never had anyone to play with. Even when I did play with someone else, the gap between me and them was almost always impossibly large. Even when I had a friend to play Brawl with, I could almost four stock a Level 9 AI on Battlefield while he could barely win against a Level 5 AI on Spear Pillar.

So, yeah. If I do play multi, I'm fine with online since I can actually find people to challenge me but I'm also fine with local on the rare occasions I have someone to play with.

I sometimes went to this place where we had all these consoles to play together on. Nowadays you hardly see any local multiplayer functionality. I long for the day when I can play four player coop on the same system.

You can still do that on Nintendo consoles and the PS 4. Probably the Xbone, too.

I think it would be awesome if you could do 8-person local multiplayer and Online multiplayer, with those dudes also doing 8 person local multiplayer.

Now that would be chaotic.

That would be 16 person multiplayer.

Not if each online game was having a 8 person multiplayer with whoever they were playing with.

It could get pretty damned big.

So in more technical terms the power of the Switch is HAAAAAAAX!!

Is the guy being cited reliable though.

The insider talking about battery life has been spot on in the past.

Local multiplayer is alive regardless of console! (kinda sorta sarcasm mode)

(I love fighting games. :0)

Splatoon is pretty much the only online multiplayer game I've ever gotten into. I also occasionally play Mario Kart 8 online. Other than that, pretty much all my MP gaming is local.

I rarely play online.

Skill is always uneven for me in more competitive games.

I just watched the Jimmy Fallon spot. He's so adorkable

Watch him tremble like AZ as he receives and plays Zelda on the Switch...

But holy shit, I can't believe just how fucking tiny the whole thing is. Not that it stops it from still looking like it's gonna take the entire industry by storm.
