So then the Switch does have analog triggers for shoulder buttons.
So it's likely that Wii U Pro controllers and Wiimotes might not be compatible. At least for several games, while some games might still support them, like any Wii U port or VC game from NES to N64.

Eurogamer: Melee, Luigi's Mansion, and Sunshine are ready for Switch VC.
Also, there will be a small fee for upgrading already owned VC titles similar to what already happens between the Wii and Wii U VC.

That indicates that there'll be some way to carryover existing VC games?
Yep. That's not surprising at all since you could do that for 3DS > New 3DS and Wii > Wii U as is.

Probably not, but that'd be cool if they did.
I would have asked for Star Fox Assault, if I didn't already order a copy of it online. Doubt we'd see any/many third party games on the VC either. Shame, because there's a handful of games I want to come back to.

I've said it before, but if they really are doing GC games on VC... Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door. Please. I already have the GC version but I would buy it again anyway because it's one of my favorite games ever.

I would laugh my head off if they did that.
But seriously, I'm curious what route they'll go. One one hand, I could easily see them adding in characters like Inklings, given how popular Splatoon is. But given how much emphasis they're giving their third-party connections this time around, they might want to include some of those, just to drive up the hype factor. I mean, let's face, having, say, The Dragonborn in Smash would definitely draw in a lot of attention.
