Starring Hannah Hart and Grace Helbig

I assume this is going to be based on the TV show of the same name.

So says you. You know, the "Universal's first female superheroes" statement annoys me, maybe more than it should. Was the original show made by Universal? Even if it was, would it be that hard to draft up two new superheroes? Silver Hawk may have been based on an older hero, but she still ended up being her own thing.

I am not against the movie. If Green Hornet can get a movie, I suppose Electra Woman should get one too. I'm just a little skeptical. I hope the movie ends up being great and proves my skepticism misguided.

I mean, at the very least it has two very good actresses on board. I'm not sure what the rest of your post means.

That I want the movie to be successful, but don't understand why they're reviving an old TV show instead of creating a new pair of superheroes for the big screen two hour model? I hope theater goers don't see this and think of the Green Hornet movie.

I'm pretty sure the people who are making it made the original series, so they probably just really like it.

I know nothing about Electra Woman and Dyna Girl.

But Helbig & Hart? That's a different story. They're way more than eye-candy, and have writing, acting, and comedic chops. I'm pumped for this.

I've heard the original show was really good, but I was also under the impression that it's incredibly obscure, so that's a weird property to resurrect. Of course, no complaints if it's good or brings awareness to the original show.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here.

Can't really confirm or deny "really good", I saw maybe two episodes ten years ago. All I remember was the villain was the spider lady and Dyna Girl(sidekick) had to save the day after Electra Woman got caught.

Also saw a pilot to an attempted revival where Dyna Girl stole Electra Woman's husband, one of her fans volunteered to be a new Dyna Girl and someone tried to serve fish sticks to Aquaman.

Are Sid and Marty Krofft even still alive?

For those of you who don't know - I wasn't there, but I know people who were - this was a pretty campy show, apparently.

I wonder what they're going to do with the material...

EDIT: A quick Wikipedia search reveals that not only are the Kroffts still alive, but the original show was deliberately campy.
