if that trailer is any indication, even if this show ends up being just mediocre it'll be way better than SAO which was embarassing in how amateurish it was. this may actually be the other "trapped in an mmo" show that we deserve; log horizon has the mmo player dynamics and politics covered, so hopefully overlord can be the more drama heavy/serious show to complement that.

Um, Dot Hack?
Watch SymphogearOverlord is more Log Horizon than Sword Art Online, actually. If in Log Horizon the players ended in a world not of the game and were totally OP by it's standards.
From what I have seen from the manga, the author at least had the presence of mind to make it more about the interaction between the people affected by the OP protagonist than about the protagonist's O Pness itself. Like with One Punch Man.
@51: The existence of those anime is an elaborate prank. So elaborate to the point fake "episodes" and "news" relating to it have been produced to give the illusion of their existence.
If nothing else, I can't fault it for having misleading advertising
Nice Dragon Quest font.
Please. That dark elf is clearly wearing a corset.
What's precedent ever done for us?God help us all...
Together, we are one.And yet, what is bothering me is that Dragon Quest-ripoff logo.
The salt is strong with this one.
More entertainment for me, then.

Watch SymphogearEh, not like fanservice action series are new
so was klk supposed to be some sort of reconstruction of these series or what
Nah, it was just a modern version Of Cutey Honey, basically.
Watch SymphogearSeinfeldian Conversation perhaps?
That has got to the oddest thing to get an anime adaptation ever.
Huh.
Seconding the weirdest addaptation opinion.
Secret SignatureNotes on the upcoming season:
- Aquarion Logos: Kawanori, the creator of the rest of the Aquarion series, isn't particularly involved. Now, whether this is a bad thing...
- Chaos Dragon: Based on a tabletop game with a bunch of big names as players. Of course, the GM is best known for Rental Magica, so
- Charlotte: Written by Maeda Jun, best known for various Key VNs. And Angel Beats
- Classrom Crisis: This one comes to us from the writer of Saenai Heroine No Sodatekata
- Dragon Ball Super:
- This is set in a continuity where Super Saiyan God Super Saiyan exists, a supporting character can reverse time at will, and Gohan is a jobber
- Apparently Kai will be retconning the ending to lead into it
- Toei hasn't really been advertising it at all. I assume the idea is that kids will move from Kai to it, but all the Precure series have the same deal, and they get advertised
- Gakkou Gurashi: The manga is excellent! The moe and the zombie apocalypse actually work really well together. That said, there's some oddities in the advertising that leave me uncertain how close to the manga this will be
- Ranpo Kitan: Another Kishi/Uezu series. We can assume that it'll be a bit stylized, by the quality is anyone's guess
- Sore ga Seiyuu!: Based on a manga by the author of Hayate No Gotoku
- Ushio And Tora:
- One of those old classics. I have no idea why this is getting made now
- With the amount of material they have (33 volumes!) it'll be interesting to see they handle the story. Or would be if I'd read the original
More general stuff:
- Summer is traditionally the worst season
- The LN adaptations all look like they have potential, while the ecchi/harem shit is almost entirely manga adaptations. I don't know what's going on anymore

I disagree with you. None of the LN adaptations captured my attention except for maybe Overlord.
Also, nobody is commenting how Sore ga Seiyuu is made by GONZO? Because holy shit. It's going to be even terrible even by GONZO standards now that all their talent went to Gokumi and David Pro.
The Bayonetta move looked pretty damn good animation wise.
On the other hand, there's more symphogear to look forward to.
Hell, according to Nana Mizuki's blog, the OP of the season (which translates into the climatic attack name of the season) is called "Extermination".
Huh.

Watch SymphogearNot really. The final battle in particular was a mess. Most of it was mating-snakes, not two planet-sized gods beating the shit out of each other.
What's precedent ever done for us?Hylarn: I havΓͺ been wondering very similar things about Toei when they brought Saint Seiya Omega to my country.
"Please crush me with your heels Esdeath-sama!Well, I guess we're getting Working season 3. That's something.
There's more interesting people and subplots in the cast like, well, literally everyone and everything else.
Uh, yeah. Madhouse has put out some terrible shit. Unless you thought Anime.Blade and Mahou Sensou were good. The only reason it has a good reputation is because fans have been actively ignoring a large part of it's output
