I don't like 1.1. It seems rather reasonable within the context. It's just a pragmatic lesson rather than an aesop, and at most it would be a Fantastic Aesop.

For either strip, I'd use the first and last panels. 1 is a little difficult to downsize, and 2 is more to the point. I also find the poster from this to be amusing, though perhaps a little less clear: [3]
