I have been reading the PDF's for this, since Games Workshop has...decided it doesn't want my business any more, put it that way.
I like how it looks. I'm going to give it a few test runs with my regular opponent when I get the chance.
Played an actual game today, with Dwarves vs. my opponent's Goblins. It worked pretty well, although I lost because I simply could not dish out enough damage to keep up with those goblin mobs.
If there's one thing I'd critique, it's that the Jarrun Bombard, while very destructive when it hit, was simply too inaccurate.
So much for Age of Sigmar... Kings of War were previously seen as a cheaper alterantive for Warhammer models. Now I guess it will soon enouh be seen as an entire alternative for the Old World Warhammer.

To be honest, I think KOW is actually better than 8th ed WHFB. It's faster, better balanced, the magic system doesn't bring the game to a halt while you flip between different sections of the rulebook, and manoeuvring is much better encouraged.
So far I've played 2e Dwarfs and Basileans. (Paladin Foot Guard with shields are incredibly hard to shift.) Next up, my old mainstay - the Orcs, which are pretty scary-lookin' as close combat units but don't really have any ranged game to speak of, at least in the 2e free PDF's. (I'm going to spring for the core at some point, just not right now because I'm broke.)
Doubleposting because Not-Skaven beta list is up.
Has most of the usual suspects available in Totally Not [Skaven Unit] forms - I Can't Believe It's Not Rat Ogres, There's No Such Thing As Doomwheels, This Is Not A Screaming Bell and so on.
So, funny thing. The Kings of War page is now edit-locked for some reason. What's up with that?
Kings of War is sort of a cheaper version of Warhammer Fantasy.
