amiibos!: or How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Give Nintendo My Money

I could see Miis of the generic three being made. If we can assign an amiibo a costume, custom moves, and equipment, I'm sure we could assign them a custom Mii as well.

I wonder how much time it takes to make an amiibo.

I'm guessing a month at most.

Do you guys have any Disney Infinity figures, BTW? I think I should just get the figures based off the Marvel characters (Basically, The Avengers, Spider-Man, Guardians of the Galaxy, Big Hero 6, and any other Marvel characters (do the X-Men have any Infinity figures?)) and any Star Wars figures without buying Infinity itself.

I don't really know, though. Should I collect Infinity figures even though I'm never gonna use them?

I would totally buy an armorless Baymax if there was one.

Unlike amiibos, you don't screw anyone over if you buy an Infinity figure for collecting's sake. I don't have Infinity either, but I probably will get an Ahsoka or Obi-Wan for the hell of it.

So, if you want 'em, go for 'em.

Well, they are, basically, figurines. I got the Zelda ones without having the consoles to use them with the games (only have the older model 3ds so I might get the doohickey they're releasing in a few months for that.)

So yeah. Figurine collecting, that's a thing. It's just now you're getting figurines that have extra useability that you may or may not desire in them. Personally I think most of the Infinity figures look nice and don't really see the issue with buying one just to put on your shelf. That is pretty much what happens to every other figurine. And Disney probably doesn't care as long as they have their money.

Yeah, I know Disney won't care.

Disney was better at making these things than Nintendo.

It actually is a cheap way of getting figurines of Marvel characters without requiring me to break the bank (I have to wait and see if I get hired at Mc Donald's for minimum wage per hour).

Wave 4 hasn't been released yet, right? The guy at Gamestop said I should have received my pre-ordered Ness and Pac-Man by now, but the site says 5/29.

Either way, getting the other 6 Wave 4's will be tough. And I still need Pit, Little Mac, Rosalina, and Lucario.

So I just found out that GameStop's resupply of Shulk got delayed until the day after never.

Are people gonna have to resort to murder to get an amiibo now?

The days leading up to Wave 4's release is feeling more and more like an impending battle.

Especially with Amazon still not having preorders up for wave 4. I was at least able to get Lucina off Play Asia, but that still leaves Pac Man and Robin for the nonexclusives that I want.

I've reached the point where I'm not going to bother preordering anything anymore, instead I'll just wait for release and then see if scalper's or imports are cheaper. There's only a small handful that I actually care about anyways.

I should be getting Ness and Pac-Man, I preordered them at Gamestop. Getting the other six will be a nightmare and a half, I imagine.

Except maybe Charizard and possibly Wario. I can see them rotting on shelves like all the Marios, Links, and Pikachus.

Seriously. At least the shitstain that bought all the Rosalina's out of spite actually paid money for them. But straight up stealing? And not just stealing them, but stealing them when actual consumers have already paid money for them?

They've crossed the Moral Event Horizon by doing this.

Thankfully I live in a small-ish town where most of these characters aren't well known. And hopefully Amazon wasn't affected by this.

Hell, I'd be fine with banishing them from all civilization, and have their stuff repossessed as punishment for this.

Heck, in Europe we don't get a 3 pack with the squid, the gmae + squid is the only way to get the squid. And it's a limited edition pack. So the dickery of the theft is even higher!

One thing to note: Each amiibo will not go live right when their window opens. It's going to be a random time within that window.

Yeah, so you just gotta keep checking during that 30-minute timeframe. I'd like to at least nab Robin and Lucina; Wario and Charizard probably won't be TOO hard to scoop up later, and I already have Pac-Man ordered.
