Now it's time for Wii Fit Trainer, Pit, Robin, and Ness to get reprints for all of the Smash Bros. cast to have been common at some point or another.

Had a Animal Crossing clearance at EB Games recently. Picked up Tom Nook, the K.K triple pack, Mr Resetti and a few others for next to nothing.

Zelda 30th Anniversary amiibo announced--TLoZ Link, OoT Link, and TWW Link and Zelda.

The "Toon" amiibos look great! Well, all four of them do, but the Toon ones are my favorite.

And Yarn Poochy is pretty adorable, but I don't think it's an amiibo I'll go out of my way to get.

Believe it or not, Link now boasts the most amiibo variations (8) of any Nintendo character: Smash Bros. Link, Smash Bros. Toon Link, Wolf Link, Link (Archer), Link (Rider), The Legend of Zelda Link, Ocarina of Time Link, and The Wind Waker Toon Link.

Seeing as the first one is apparently one of the best-selling amiibo, I can sort of see why.

Someone on reddit discovered that if go to discover random amiibo on Nintendo of Europe's website, it shows the release date of the Breath of the Wild amiibo as March 4th, 2017.

Bayonetta Smash amiibo tease for a Bayonetta 2 second anniversary present.

...just give us a release date on Cloud and Bayonetta....

And it's all going to come on 10/14. The only amiibo we need to hear from now are Robin (who could be exclusive somewhere else) and Palutena (who could still be exclusive to Amazon).

Finally! I've been waiting for there to be a Ness restock. I've been trying to find him since he first came out. (And they're restocking him almost directly after my birthday, no less. Better set aside some birthday money!) I might take the opportunity to get Lucina as well.

I do hope we hear about Robin soon though if they're restocking him as well. (And the Cloud and Corrin amiibos too.)

Nice. I can finally buy Ness and find Lucina. Now to wait for Robin and Palutena.

Apparently she's a TRU exclusive this time around.

I do want to get the amiibos of Palutena and Robin only to re-enact some Awkward Zombie strips.

EDIT: Actually, I'm also thinking on getting a straight up collectible Cloud figure while waiting for his amiibo. Same with Snake because he's not getting an amiibo period.

Forgot to say, the Monster Hunter Stories amiibo came out recently in Japan and Southeast Asia.

There's a Felyne, male protagonist on a one-eyed Rathalos, and female protagonist on a one-eyed Rathalos.

Nintendo confirms amiibo support for the Nintendo Switch.

I Knew It!!

Now watch as FFVII Remastered gets a Switch port and Cloud amiibo support in some fashion.

Cloud amiibo unlocks costumes for Cloud to wear, including 10 different Advent Children outfits and one of him in a dress.

Or just a Cloud amiibo period

Well, if the Switch didn't support amiibo, what point would there be to the BotW figures? Surely this was a foregone conclusion?

I'd say it was a foregone conclusion even if BoTW didn't have amiibo support. I doubt Nintendo would want to drop its highly successful toys-to-life brand just because it's moving on to a new system.

The question now is where you can scan the amiibo on the Switch.

I'm hoping one of the joy-cons can scan them.

That way you could scan them when The Switch is docked or undocked.

Though just the tablet itself reading amiibo as well should be a thing, even if a joy-con reads them. The Switch has a touch screen, so surely there are going to be some games designed around being played on the go with touch controls only, like phone games. And I wouldn't be surprised if people carried The Switch with them without joy-cons and treat it like a tablet on the go.

"Who carries amiibo with them outdoors?" I dunno, but they sell amiibo carry cases, so somebody must be buying them?
