Brittaney became a E-5, Sergeant, and remained at that rank from the time she was a pilot to her discharge in 2010. Being out of the Corps she's identified as a Former Sergeant at ORCA. The ranks may be a little off, I'm not sure but maybe you need to be a Lieutenant or higher to be pilot certified, but I didn't want her to come across as some high ranking do it all.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursAnd did some digging. So which means she'll have to be at 2nd Lieutenant to be allowed to be a fighter pilot.
The official site even support this.
Have your profile fixed up so that it's consistent. Let me know how it goes.

Fixed it up so Brittaney was deployed as Lance Corporal to Kosovo where she reached the rank of Master Sergeant, then completed her scholarship and attended college for pilot duty. Have a look and see if that's more realistic.
Currently reading up My Rule Fu Is Stronger than YoursOkay. That should be fine, so I'll add her in the roster.
re: airport/seaport: well, I'm figuring Harrawi's got to have a major city with both an airport, even if it's just an airstrip where Herkies and Dakotas can land, and a seaport. Hopefully wherever our supplies enter the country is going to be relatively peaceful. If there are blue helmets or AU troops patrolling the streets, even better.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Still reviewing the map for now. I do plan to put the brigade's base west and away from the capital in Yerusa, slightly to get it away from the urban areas for a "good reason" just like how Area 88 is located in the desert away from the cities and to concentrate on the bad guys there. Or Heleg so that's smack dab next to the Djibouti border. So that's two places.
The airport is in Oryaa, IIRC from the geopoeia write up.
I'll have more updates on this later when I can since I'm heading out to church later.

What I'm hearing: whee, we have a logistical line to defend!
...well, shit. Better hope the people between us and the seaport like us. Amelia got out of Afghanistan to get way from the IEDs and the convoy ambushes.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.Well the country has experienced some peace playing "Switzerland", except with recent surge from Islamists and the trouble with the royals in exile with some spillovers from parts of Central and East Africa from Al-Shahaab and Boko Haram is going to rear itself.
I don't know when to make the ex-Royal Guards rear their ugly mug and start trouble in Harrawi, but maybe they'll come later. I'll start things by throwing everyone involved into a hostage rescue mission just to show the military being mean to use them into the fray.
The geopoiea writeup says Hurunn is a major port city and geographically, it's close to Heleg.
Depending on the things I need to do later, I can perhaps get the RP/RP and discussion thread up and close the brainstorming thread here and keep it for reference.

Double post to say that the RP thread is officially up.
Any in-game inquiries are to be directed at the discussion thread. This is still open to sign-up questions and other related matters alike.
Would it be okay to sign up as a (mostly) non-combatant and more support character, or will the RPG focus mostly on combat?
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia! You can if you want to be a support character. Do you mean like a chopper pilot flying for transport?
I meant more like headquarters personnel. I was thinking of a legal advisor/lawyer trained in international and operational law, who also doubled as negotiator.
Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!Hmmm...
May be plausible. See what can you do with a write up later on. I can have the person be placed at HQ of either the ground or Air Force group.

I like the idea, myself. It's like having one foot in the aid and NGO world.
Charlie Stross's cheerful, optimistic predictions for 2017, part one of three.I'll try and see how it turns out.
Name: Kristine Sverdrup
Appearance: 175 cm tall, slim and athletic build. Scandinavian appearance, with originally fair but tanned skin, and brown hair usually in a braided ponytail.
Nationality: Norway
Age: 28
Service Branch: Conscript Academic Officer (vernepliktig akademisk befal), Norwegian Army, Lieutenant
Background: Kristine had a sheltered upbringing in a well-off family, and her parents did not allow her to pursue her exciting interests. After finishing her Master's degree in Law like her parents wanted, she learned of the VAB arrangement. Having never served her conscription because of her gender, she chose to try it out because it sounded exciting. After finishing training, she served as an officer in NATO's intervention in Libya. During her time in the armed forces, she fell in love with military life, in particular the weapons and vehicles. However, when the activities in Libya ceased, what awaited her was desk work back home in Norway. Not willing to let go of this new exciting life-style, she quit her position and applied for the Harrawi Foreign Volunteer Brigade.
Skills: On the battlefield, Kristine's skills are limited to the basic training, which includes weapon training with the H&K AG-3 and HK 416. It's off the battlefield that Kristine's true skills lie. She is educated and well-versed in International Law, Military Law and methods of negotiation, and is quick to read up on local domestic laws if necessary. Speaks English, French and Arabic.
Comments: While she's usually aware of cultural differences and the like, she does not like being told how to act by outsiders and will straight-out reject taking part in practices that she does not approve off.

Join us in our quest to play all RPG video games! Moving on to disc 2 of Grandia!I'll assume that she's still fluent in Norwegian.
Welcome abroad. I'll put her name in the roster later on.
Yes. XD Forgot to specify.
And thanks.

Name: Nathan Romilly
Appearance: Romilly is a tall, tan, rawboned man well worn from his decade of service in Africa and South America. He has black hair with a little bit of a brown cast to it, brown eyes, and an almost permanent hunch from fitting into the cramped fighting compartment of an AMX-10RC His most prominent feature is his thick black handlebar mustache that does an excellent job hiding his mouth..
Nationality: France
Age: 36
Service Branch: Maréchal des logis-chefler, 1er Régiment de Hussards Parachutistes, Armée de Terre
Background: Nathan is a veteran of France's oft-forgotten but enduring colonial wars throughout Africa. In popular imagination this is often left entirely to the FFL, though these days it's just as likely to find at least a formation of Metropolitan troops in the ORBAT for an intervention force. A native of Nantes, Romilly enlisted in the Armée de Terre mainly out of familial obligation. His father was an Adjudant-chef in the Chasseurs a pied and an uncle served in Algeria and Indochina, his grandfather in the Foreign Legion. Not that it was an unwilling obligation mind you, as Romilly has never minded continuing the family tradition of service to the Republic. He left the Army several years ago after having been informed due to insufficient scores on promotional tests he was unlikely to advance further in rank. Instead, he decided to take an early out to the reserves and try the private military advisory field. He has a wife and daughter that live in Tarbes.
Skills: Coming from an airborne armored unit, Romilly's primary skill is with wheeled armored cars/light tanks and their employment. Before rising through the NCO ranks to become a vehicle commander he was a loader and gunner. Although his squadron was air-transportable, he did take parachute training and maintain the qualification. He speaks French, a good amount of English, and some scatterings of east African dialects.
Comments: None additional

Looks good to me. Adding him to the list now. Although I don't know if you don't mind handwaving him to the bus already and all that.

What was the last rank she held in the Marines prior to discharge?
