Of fear. Robo hates tiny insects because he's afraid they'll get in his joints and lock it down with their crushed corpses.
Big insects merely annoy him.
"You can reply to this Message!"Can he even shed tears?
Lens cleaning fluid? Like windshield wiper fluid for cars.
Its a ◊ fixer-upper?
"You can reply to this Message!"Bonus points to anyone who finds the spent fuel rods! Remember, if you see it glowing, You Are Already Dead!
So I guess it's fair to say this story takes place sometime after The Ring of Fire?
Who's doing the art this time?
I looked at the link. What spent power rods? You don't mean those steel barrels, do you?

Nah, it was just a joke regarding what they might find in a site that used to test nukes.
Tessa Stone is the artist this time around. And yes, this takes place shortly after Ring of Fire; once this story is finished, we're starting Volume 11, Atomic Robo and the Temple of Od.
Ooh, a typo. Someone should inform them so they can fix that. Also, as long as the proper anatomical parts remain fleshy, why wouldn't cyborgs be able to breed?

But I doubt they'd naturally produce cyborg babies.
Odd that Robo's got that aversion. He macked on a human gal (despite not having a mouth...), which is getting pretty close to cyborg breeding.
It could be either
1) It's because he's a grumpy old man robot now who's pushing 100 years old any way you cut it and he's come to see the unnatural nature of it all (especially with how he takes to all the other weirdness he has to put up with) or
2) It's less about the cyborgs themselves as it is the whole Daedalus angle attached to this particular example.

Or 3. All his experience with Cyborgs are thanks to Von Helsingrad and those aren't particularly pleasant experiences.
His little love life back in the 20s-30s was a different story anyways, seeing as it was more Robosexual than cyborgs.

He◊ hates insects!
"You can reply to this Message!"Even ones that are so big they couldn't possibly get into his joints! Seriously he dealt with the giant ants perfectly well, giant bugs shouldn't really set off his phobia.

I wonder if the ant thing was an example of Early-Installment Weirdness, given that Ants typically fall under the broad public perception category of 'Bugs'.
Well the Biomegapocalypse can't have helped his phobia
Also, he had Jenkins with him back then!

"You can reply to this Message!"Maybe he managed to distract himself by thinking angry thoughts about the square-cube law.
BLAMBLAMBLAM
Robo: No pulse.
How would you even check for a pulse on a giant insect?
With the biggest gun you can find.
Man, look at those tiny, tiny feet. And I love how Robo is shedding a tear (of what?) for the little bug he's about to shoot.
